Stand Against the Darkness is my favorite boss fight OST. It gives me that "this is the last stand and we hold on to this glitter of hope" vibes.

14:36 ....I swear that’s the same Sunset Heights-sounding leitmotif yet again. It’s been modified somewhat so it sounds more like a harmony of the melody from the first game, but I’d bet good money you could overlay the two without too much trouble.

1:00:27 The beginning has a similar style to Chrono Cross’ town music, and the latter half reminds me of Zeal from CT (Corridors of Time and Schala’s theme).
1:03:10/1:05:05/1:07:32 All of these could basically be town themes in CC (“Home Horai”, “Another Horai” and “Yet Another Horai?” ;p)
1:05:05 & 1:07:32 are weirdly interesting to me because when I hear the lead melody I can’t help thinking of Undertale’s ruins music…I really don’t know; I’d guess it’s probably mostly a rhythmic thing, but maybe if you try humming it you’ll see/hear what I mean. 0_o
1:13:51 I swear this reminds me of something… The track in general has a bit of a Pokemon vibe but it’s that tune at 1:14:26 which really feels familiar yet I just can’t place.
1:16:24 Yet another track that wouldn’t feel out of place at all on Xenoblade 2’s OST. I also couldn’t help thinking of “The Girl Who Stole the Stars” when I saw the title… ;-)
1:18:26 Those opening notes immediately bring to mind Xenoblade 2’s main theme, & honestly the entire thing could pass for something from that series.
The song’s title made me think of Zeal from CT & the “butterfly dream” quote. Bizarrely enough, it turns out that line was apparently 100% a Woolseyism, and that there’s nothing at all similar in the Japanese script - which actually makes me wonder how much lasting influence his localization work had. E.g. FF VI & VII have a pretty clear heavens/earth thing going on with the names of their 2 main protagonists - Celes/Terra and Cloud/Aerith (phonetically close to “earth” in Japanese) - even though Terra was just called Tina in the Japanese FFVI, and “Claude” is an equally valid romanization of “Cloud”.
was going to say the same about 07:50 really sounds like a tales theme :D also a lot of other JRPG vibes from FF titles. Music wise this mobile game is one of the best and the story is quite interesting too :)
dont know why and how the fk ost from a gacha game could sound much better than some AAA game ost KEK
