I really wish i watched this at home instead of school. Because when i left the english classroom mascara was rolling down my face and i had to bite my hand in order not to start sobbing.
Thank you for posting this, 2SayMin. Beautiful indeed. The violin can tug at my heart strings like no other instrument. A wonderful novel, and this 2008 BBC adaptation is splendid.
She's gorgeous Tess...And her voice's so unsettling, so sweet ! She's delicate, precious. This novel is dear to my heart. Thank you late Mr Hardy . Besides, I didn't watch this TvShow yet actually, but it seems casting's great !
Reading the book now. I didn’t in high school because my English teacher was more into American literature. (I’m from Canada, and we’re short on Canadian literature)
Thousands thanks Sayuri for the blissful walking dream I enjoy everytime I listen to this vid . Actually I didn't see the movie yet, but I intend to do it ! I've already read the book in its original version (english) a year ago as the french girl I am (not a Froggie please, I am vegan !) and this novel has carved and burnt my mind. I beg all people who would come across this comment to read this masterpiece of english literature ! (Thomas Hardy "Tess of The D'Urbervilles")!
I have been dying to find the soundtrack for this beautiful mini series. coolmusicltd.com/composers/rob-lane/ I finally found the gorgeous violin solo called 'Tess Theme'
I Iove it! And just as the preceding commenter I wouId aIso appreciate it greatIy if you upIoaded the whoIe soundtrack as it is nowhere to be bought...
The story of Tess can still happen, anywhere where women are not allowed to carry a gun. Such as my country, Canada. It happens every day self defence warrants arrest before rape does
To much happiness really makes .me so sad as how many of our dreams are echoed in what Tess says wonderful novel by hardy his best I feel of double Victorian standards towards women I hate it as men and women are equal and angel was a hypocrite towards her for spurning her tragic past ,
I prefer Roman Polanski´s version of "Tess"from 1979! Nastassja Kinski is the best Tess!! The actress from this version (2008) is ugly and has a silly face.. :/

would love the whole soundtrack...I love the parts where a violin plays the same haunting melody throughout...it's absolutely beautiful

This is not merely history of what men used to be like. MEN ARE STILL LIKE THIS!
Unfortunately, women are not like Tess anymore.
Tears streaming down my face after hearing/watching this scene! So beautiful...
I sobbed. Amazing for a mini series. Too bad I can't find the violin music anywhere! So this is wonderful. Thank you for the upload!
I love that violin music too. :)
The saddest violin there ever was. I just want to start sobbing when I hear it.

3:54 when that violin kicks in, is that a song of its own? It's sick and i've been searching for it for so long.

not really the final scene, given that it cuts out....

Pls post soundtrack
who can tell me what is the music‘s name ?please!!!
Part of it (before the violin section) is “The Snow It Melts the Soonest.” The woman who sang it earlier in the film is Anne Briggs.

this actress is not ugly but Natassja was an incredible beauty and a great actress
Gemma is beautiful but yes Kinski is a far more striking Tess
She's perf leave her alone
gemma is beauty personified. just her eyes speak a thousand words in some scenes.
U are disgusting
