    I love putting a reminder to reference other planners in a catch all/main planner. So simply genius!

    I think the confusion is linguistic - I’ve always had separate binders for household management, gardening, art, spiritual studies, health, etc. Even though some clearly required planning, I never called them planners. My planner was the place where I scheduled everything. I think if they weren’t all called planners you would find many people keep track of various life elements in different books or files or boxes.

    I too have a work planner that is purely functional, but i love your idea about a sticky note to do list! I have a seperate to do list pad but having it on sticky notes inside the planner will not only help track what task I do at work but will keep me from going back and worth between the two! Great video as always!!

    I like how you explained the way things are used, and ESPECIALLY how you use the monthly and weekly of each planner. One thing that really frustrated me about using multiple planners was figuring out what to do with the monthly, or how much information to put in the weekly. Do you find that there is too much duplication between some of the planners? Mostly between the home and other planners, like if you have a work function or some specific tasks/deadlines?

    • @PersonalizeMyPlanner
      @PersonalizeMyPlanner  2 роки тому

      Thank you, Salima! At this point the only duplication is usually between my home and work planner (e.g. if I have an appointment), but for the most part it doesn't happen very often and is therefore pretty manageable.

    Thank you so much for sharing your planner system. I've been struggling with my planner system, knowing I can't manage everything in just one but multiple planners can be overwhelming.
    Your system makes perfect sense.
    Thank you!

    Loved the video, as usual. This was one of the most functional videos I have seen on UA-cam!
    Just a question: Was my gear acting up or did the sound change somewhat in the video? Just wondering since we're talking about investing in new audio gear at home.

      It's possible that the sound changed. I was having an issue with my editing software.

    I really appreciate how you explain your schedule for planning. This seems to be the hardest thing for me, having a specific time to sit down and use my planners.
    I love your videos! 😀

    Great video! I am starting to use more planners this July and I have them organized pretty well, it’s just trying to keep up with them that is a bit challenging. The tips you share here are great! Being a month ahead is really key! I always feel like I’m playing catch up, so I’m going to focus on getting ahead of the planning for August. Thanks for sharing 💞

    So are you still processing your monthly list this way or have you switched to the ZTD method? I didn’t see the Delegate/Do/Defer/Delete step in the ZTD video with that monthly list. You did color code those by categories though.
    This method really gels with my brain. The brain dump, monthly list to weekly. But my brain also wants to categorize everything like home, personal, work, shopping. Like a mixture of how you used to plan your month and how you do it with the ZTD system. I’m having trouble envisioning how to weld the two together though. Keep elements from both. I also want my someday maybe list items to be more like collections but struggling with that to. Finding planner peace is hard! I’ve redone my 5 times already.

    • @PersonalizeMyPlanner
      @PersonalizeMyPlanner  3 роки тому

      I filmed this video a year before I discovered ZTD and have since switched to the ZTD method. The advantage of ZTD (I think) is that I've already eliminated the Do It, Delegate It, and Delete It categories during the time when I'm processing my capture tool and inbox each day before it gets written down on my Monthly List (or my Annual List if it's a future month). For ZTD, the brain dump occurs 24/7 because every single time you have a thought that you don't want to forget, you can immediately add it to your capture tool. I still like the idea of using a weekly list to kind of pre-plan the month, but it does take extra time to re-write the tasks out. Since ZTD encourages simplifying and saving time, I've decided to remove the weekly list. This is just what is working for me, though, and everyone has differences when it comes to what will work for them. If you prefer to categorize by Delegate/Do/Defer/Delete and use categories like home, personal, work, shopping, one idea is to do the brain dump, color code as Delegate/Do/Defer/Delete, then physically divide your weekly list sheet of paper into each week of the month, then further subdivide each week into the categories like home, personal, work, shopping. Another idea is to use home, personal, work, shopping color-coding on the weekly list sheet. I do have a couple of someday maybe lists that are more like collections (e.g. Books to Read, Videos to Watch, Planner Clips to Make). I don't look at those "reference" Someday Maybe Lists regularly, only when I feel like doing that activity and need an idea. Finding planner peace is definitely hard and I wouldn't say that I'm 100% there yet either. We're all on this journey together and I Iove how the planner community encourages each of us to keep working towards our goals. You can do it!

    I started taking 1-2 hours one day a month to do my monthly and the weekly layouts for the four weeks because having to do them each week is hard sometimes that for my catch all. I need a better system when to do my layout for my wellness journal.
    In july that should be easier because im planner on buying the 18 month wellness planner and its vertical. So i wont have to hand do it. Right niw my wellness planner is a guided happy journal but I converted it to my daily wellness planner

      Welcome, Diane! The transformer planner (home/social media/faith planner) is kept open to the current week in my desk drawer (in my craft room). The health/fitness planner is kept in my craft room cabinet (next to my desk). The menu planner is kept in an easy to access kitchen cabinet. The work planner is kept on my desk at work.

    You always inspire me to really appreciate the opportunity to plan out my days. I do require more than one planner. However, I learned from you how to create a system that works just for me by using one planner (Home, Faith, Family, Homeschool, Meal Planning, Chores, Journal, & Work).
    My 1 transformer/frankenplan planner does it all 😉. Your videos are so detailed in showing how it works. And, it works for me! 👍🏽 Thank you
