    Imagine, someone who is permanently disabled. Perhaps from the neck down. They can never fulfill their dreams of seeing the Grand Canyon or travelling to Mount Fuji. But we are living in a time where they can.
    Imagine when your kids come home from school, and tell you that in Geography they travelled to the North Pole and visited Machu Pichu.
    Imagine one day when we can walk around Ancient Rome, walk around on the USS Enterprise (Both of them), take a tour of a bustling medieval city, wander around the Homur Bazzar, stumble through the Trenches at the Somme.
    Fuck, I can't wait to get a vive and put my dad in it.

    for as much comedy as there is in this video, it's genuinely one of the most heartfelt nerdcubed videos in my opinion. dan talking about seeing his old school and flat and how he described those emotions actually made me quite emotional. i come back to this video all the time just because it's one of the most perfect blends of comedy and genuine heart i've seen on youtube, and it's a video that perfectly shows why dan will always be one of my favourite youtubers.

      I’d class a nice day in London as being, blue sky with few clouds, not too hot not too cold, little if any wind, and not raining.
      I’d say something about busy streets and busy Tube, but they’re pretty much always like that when you need them, and nothing can really change that.
      That’s just the reality of living in a city, not that I do, but I’ve been to London enough to know that’s the best you can really hope for.

      I will say the same as i do all others who are considering buying a vr headset.
      Unless you are; really fanatical/enthustiatic about it, it is your job, or the price is "throw away" money for you, then you would want to wait a generation or two. (Not sure "throw away" money is a regular english term?)
      Its true that the tech is awesome right now, but it will look extremely dated within a few generations, which will also be cheaper and with more uses and content.
      I myself are in the fanatical/enthustiatic group :P

    • @PrometheusXV
      @PrometheusXV 7 років тому

      It costs around $500 for a PC that runs it, just a heads up. However, at that cost most things would probably have slight lag, which might induce motion sickness.

    • @stevenschaeffer4171
      @stevenschaeffer4171 7 років тому

      So $500, is that including the cost if the actual headset and controllers

    • @SimonDGamingvideos
      @SimonDGamingvideos 7 років тому +3

      Patrick Star no, I would say a $650-$700 budget for the PC and whatever for the headset you're buying

    • @PrometheusXV
      @PrometheusXV 7 років тому +2

      Patrick Star No, that's only for the computer rig itself (if you built it yourself, buying it prebuilt would cost a lot more). The headset will cost another $800, if you get the Vive (which is the best option), although others are available, and for other consoles/systems as well. The cheapest headset you can get is the Gear VR, which I have, and is only $100, but you have to have a phone that works with it (it doesn't need a console or PC to work), as it uses the phone as the screen, and is nowhere near as good as the other VR headsets, but it works for the price.
