- Thirteenth homestuck animation of mine.
A bit of a more direct adaptation.
Rose Lalonde, completely absorbed in her infromation gathering routine discovers her ability to properly use a mysterious cue ball which is able to answer any question in paradox space, all thanks to a enigmatic informator she's been in contact with for a long time. Holding on to all the questions in all of the universes it all needs just one little push.
Go ahead. Ask. Seer.

Im happy we still see new Homestuck animations in recent years. Outside of the main comic, their seemed to be a handful of fan animated content. Slowly getting more stuff is awesome
All the little details that lets you know that something, just outside the scope of your knowledge, is fundamentally wrong…
It’s been seven years since I started reading Homestuck, and I didn’t think anything could send chills down my spine quite like my first reading of this conversation did.
But somehow, you managed it.
Hats off to you, for making me relive the teenage years that I’m not even quite sure are completely over yet.
Remember, no amount of contact (even indirect) with an eldritch god is safe. This includes any and all information about them
I loved this scene in the original and I love it in here! Also, shout out to voice actors, they did a great job at capturing emotions, very sad and touchy

I didnt see anyone point this out, so... the lipsync is INCREDIBLE!!
I love how Jade goes out of focus at 5:45 to visually setup what's about to happen.
You treated the two cameras like they were one camera so the transition at 6:20 just felt that much smoother.
Also you'd already changed out the backgrounds at 6:10 while keeping that red glow on Rose.
This part of the video was just really smooth including the Jojo color shift.
This was incredible. I love all the small details added to make the conversation flow better in a fully animated format, with the characters able to see each other. Like Jade doing a double-take as she makes the connection between Scratch and the cue ball.

Love the way you handled Scratch's interruption because Homestuck is mostly dialogue, This is a great way to adapt it without cutting anything.
This was AMAZING (as usual). The clothing textures were so cool, and the VAs were great!! Animation was amazing, of course. I love how you animate the characters. See you on 4/13!!

HOW IS THIS SO GOOD seriously, what an incredibly artful and masterful interpretation. You must be in some...stubborn throes.
I noticed that you changed the dialogue a little bit
Like you completely removed the part when Jade was trying to say something strange about how Rose "had trickier relationship with her mom than John did with his dad" and replaced it with simple "it's not your fault that it happened"
I guess it made it smoother and more natural
This was one of the ideas behind this animation.
To kinda Improve original dialogue and make it more... human. Like an actual conversation between two friends.
I found a lot of quite weird, unfitting 'passages' here and there in original dialogue and tried to fix it all here. Hope it worked!

@@Ichellor there's one thing I didn't quite like - it's how quickly Rose went from raw emotional state to a calm thoughtful conversation in the beginning
I know it was in the original too, but it just doesn't work this way, you can't calm a person in a state like this so quickly with just rational arguments
@@higztv1166 is more realistic that's true but i think rose shifting from raw emotions to just being calm from a second to another shows how scary the new idea in her mind is and works with a show setting, tho is true that this kind of shift isn't achieved either but that's more of a voice acting issue, however with the original lines not having like any clear tone indications besides what they're saying is quite tricky in itself and i think the end product is good with those problems in mind
@@higztv1166 think its worth noting that even when Rose was "calm and thoughtful," she wasn't rational.
She responded like an adult trying to hide their emotions from an impressionable child, but Jade and Scratch were both perceptive enough to recognize that Rose was still tripping on her own fury. Once her mind was made up to fight Jack, any outward display of anger straight-up wasn't conducive to that goal.

I've been looking forward to this for a week! This was a magnificent animation with some fantastic voices to go along with it! 4/13 is going to be extra awesome this year!
FUCK this is awesome!!!! Incredible voice acting, its hard to make a scene of just. literally sitting and talking into something visually interesting but you've certainly had a lot of experience to master that :D the inverted colours are SO cool, its interesting that their eyes invert the same as their clothing... as if removing the purple(horrorterrors) and green(green sun/guardian being) of their eyes/voices, obfuscating sight/awareness of the situation (and giving scratch the sole green in the scene, excluding both jade and rose from the omniscience they've been striving towards)
Honestly it's absolutly brilliant, it felt so natural and well shot, big prop to the VA's which have the perfect voices and were super good

Wonderful work on this, as usual. You mention this video focused on contrasts and colors. I'm getting some inversion theory vibes, especially when Jade and Rose swap their color text. Was that deliberate?
Also, any interest in constructive criticism? It's all from the perspective of someone who doesn't animate or storytell, so perhaps it's not useless, but I, like many others, are loving what you're doing here, and I'd love to help potentially improve it even in small ways.
