Hard to find a parking spot some times - but relatively easy to access. It's not where you're thinking. And it is illegal to take any kind of flotation device there.
This is a reef break wave that is dedicated to bodysurfing. If the guards are on duty you will be ticketed for riding the waves if your riding any watercraft at Boomer’s.
If both surfers and body surfers can have enough social understanding to navigate The Wedge this shouldn’t hard to knock out. Body surfers by default have the right of way for safety reasons and if they are presenting a problem unknowingly they are politely told, if they are hostile then it becomes less polite and assuming either person was raised indoors if you wanna touch each other you get to the sand first… its a very reasonable system and honestly all I see is a spot where not enough people were willing to be impolite to the authorities to secure their freedom of movement.
