Drinking saltwater as Deino + reabsorption sounds OP, you basically have free roam of the map.
Even reabsorption alone for Deino is great.

@@terrorquetz You don't need to stay in the ocean, you can still drink fresh water. Point is you can use the ocean to travel around the map easier and less likely to meet another deino. Not too mention there's a big chance to find herbis on the east and southern parts of the map near the ocean

@@stundorn5511 Well damn.. yeah guess it's not as viable since coastal biomes with food are non-existent. Modding tools would solve this problem so fast.
I hope they put some fish spawns around the ocean, that would be very useful and would encourage animals like deino, ptera, beip and Herrera to explore these coastal regions more.

I tried them on herra, unfortunately the difference is so small you won't notice, herra already had its jump cost lowered for the hordetest though, it feels great rn
@@Verdinhox2how many times did you have to deplete your stamina completely jumping to get it? Trying to get it on dryo and no luck
@@maxie1199 I depleted about 3 bars worth of stamina I think, but it took me a while to check so may be lower
honestly i love that theres secret mutations. it means you get extra mutations based on your playstyle, and i think thats pretty cool. also adds to the factor "survival of the fittest" some players will be smarter and stronger than others, even with the same type of species.
ive seen a lot of people say "mutations will be overpowered, everyone is going to combine them to get an unfair advantage over everything else they fight." and while thats valid for many reasons, players die a lot in the isle. there will always be a player that loses a fight, whether a fair or unfair opponent. there will always be something the outmatch someone else, leaving that player to start over again.
my only wish is that mutations were specifically tied to nesting. the nesting feature is beloved, but functionally useless. it adds risk of having noisy hatchlings, but other than numbers, no real reward for it. mutations couldve been a great reward for it imo. fresh spawns would have the opportunity to nest, but have hardly any mutations. possibly only unlocking some when they nest. those who nest in, would have more mutations than those who spawn in, but would have the constant danger of being in a vulnerable nest, at a younger stage of life. and they would unlock extra mutations when they have their own nest, as well. but thats just personally my want for the machanic. nesting added so much more gameplay value when it first came out, but literally no one uses it now.
i am however glad to see that there are mutations specific to help with nesting. perhaps that means nesting will have a functional purpose in the future, and using nesting mutations will become a more valuable playstyle.
I liked your idea of having them tied to nesting, I just worry a lot of players would never agree with it cause they are "solo" gamers.
A good thing is that if you're nested you get more mutations, that's it. Sadly nothing to the parents
i got one as herrara dont remember the name but it said something like ''the lower you health the more damage you deal''. didnt give a % and havnt been able to get it since. Was pretty OP though. was one shotting juvi dibbles as a 50% herra.
This stuff is amazing, it adds so much more diversity and playability to the game
That’s hilarious that the game gives you bonus mutations specifically if you mess around doing things you typically shouldnt like drinking saltwater
This is the greatest update, it can now just literally make roles in pack hunters, females gets the incubation mutation and hunters bleed, daamge and hp healing.
The fake limping is cool and you could trick things as carno cuz carno is very weak with a broken leg

the decipher human writing one sounds really interesting, I don't know what that means for the game. maybe there'll be bits of lore across the map, or something to do with humans contacting eachother
Probably necessary for unlocking strains later down the line (assuming The Isle ever reaches that point in development.)

Maybe reading the notes could unlock more secret mutations in the future, like maybe thermal vision or dilo/troodon toxins on any dino

I got the saltwater one and then I traveled all the way to ep from sp and 3 dibbles killed me while I had no Stam and 1 Called then proceeded to fail miserably at killing a fresh spawn teno for 4 minutes XD there is a lot of griefers I’m noticing in the stress test

I got remodeling ambulation once. I think you just need to walk with leg fracture but I'm not sure.
I got the reniculte kidneys mutation while I had the vomit sickness and it made the sickness permanent somehow. The bars at the top of the gauges disappeared but the sickness stayed anyway and gradually forced all off my debuffs to the maximum. I think it might be triggered by drinking the saltwater with both the mutation and the sickness. Not sure if relogging gets rid of it because I fell off of a cliff and died before I could try.
Still kinda lost on how mutations work, and how they link to nesting. The UI for mutations doesn't help either! but this was an awesome video I wasn't aware that some where unlockable! I hope they add a way to kinda track what ones u can unlock.
i wonder if the pteranadon can use the jumping one for take offs as most of the mutations are sorta lackluster atm for them

Huh? I had Reinforced Tendons as possible choice when i played on Ptera, that was Secret Mutation?
I don't even know how i got it if it needed specific unlock requirement! However it was one of Mutation 3 possibilities that i took almost right away when i noticed it was possible, i did write them all up on Steams Notepad/sticker (or what is its English name even) when that happened and Reinforced Tendons was last on list.
Are all these Secret Mutations unlocked outside of normal choice or will some species have them by default choice when certain growth is reached?
On Ptera all i did was suffer early. Spawned far from river so i had to eat rotten corpse a one grab worth. I also had no luck getting Protein so around 50% i just filled last Diet with Carbs from fish.
In the end i had 2 Carbs(3 dots) and 1 Lipid (2 lines) as Diet. I never killed anyone, i preyed on AI around corpses as i didn't get feeling for new mechanic to open up dead body. As Mutations i had Reabsorption (your gain some water when its raining) and Congenital Hypoalgesia (reduce damage from larger foes). I did spend some time on tree branches for rest as ground around was filled with Aggro Dibbles and carnies.
Wrote all this down incase i accidentally met requirements to unlock Secret Mutation depending on how i played. It is possible it was just a Ptera specific normal unlock at 100%.
for tendons you just jump a lot, and can most likely be caused by also starting to fly (since you hold the jump button anyways)
Id really like to know how to get reabsorbtion.
As an adult raptor, I only have 3 mutations, but I have 4 glowing slots. I got the first mutation when frewsh spawn, second when 36%, and 3rd when 100%. Is that supposed to happen?

Has anyone figured out of mutations stack? Like does cellular regeneration twice improve healing by 30%?

So, the profilic reproduction, do the hatchlings have more health as hatchlings or as adults as well and less hunger their whole life?
no, it just means they get more hp regen, not the whole hp pool. About the food, i think its only when in hatchling stage
@@KougaArt ah okay thanks, another question, is it true that mutations get passed to hatchlings up to 3 generations. So that they have mutation from both parents and can still choose it again or another one? And get stronger and stronger over generations

the formula i got is just drinking some salt water until my own water is gone. I did it while raining and I got the reabsorption buff.
But you don't really need it, just keep drinking salt water, fresh water, more salt water...

Dude, why did they add salt water mutation, lol? So that we can't be saved from deinos all over the map? Jesus. Don't tell them about that... This can upset the balance.
Some migrations are planned to be on the small islands outside the main island, this could allow those dinos to survive there easily and concepts were shown to expand the ocean

I have 25 locked fps on hordtest lmao wtf last time i had that low fps was on spiro map
there are some tricks to improve fps, but after all it always depends on your PC components:::
- delete config folder to improve fps
or
- tune down some settings, specially lumen OFF and 3d resolution at 46/47
or
- decrease render distance to far or medium
@@KougaArt Settings are exacly the same as the Normal Evrima (non-hordtest) and on Evrima im locked 120fps. No idea why I drop to 25 at hordtest , this never happened before to previous hordtests. My PC is high end lol. Maybe i gotta delete config folder again (for the 1000th time - its the only thing I havent done yet) But to be completely honest I wont do sh*t dont think PoTaTo deserves the time. It would be different if we had Rex xD - im just tired with all this "ThE iSLe" performance and all the rest shitty things they've done its been years like this and things are just getting worse than getting better. I dont like spreading Negativity , but fck Isle , Im done. I'm tired of their bad management

tbh, i cant say im a fan of the cannibalistic trait. Makes it even more risky to work with your own species, especially if there strengths are in there numbers. How am i supposed to trust my raptor or carno brethrens calls to group up if it may just be a call for food? q-q
because carno and raptor aren't cannibals? they get debuffed if they eat their own kind
@@misterionorman9764 Did you read the mutations? Cannibalistic is a obtainable trait now for species that previously didn't have it. That means its at least 'Possible' for carno and raptors to be a cannibal.
Just because your same species isn't on your diet doesn't mean the same species won't kill you sometimes.

i really enjoyed the isle from all the other crap dino survivals because of all the annoying skill trees now im sadly gonna lump it in with the rest of the crap dino games not to play.
