I recommend her singing “Rechenka” next. At age 14 she performs this Russian folk lore song that is one of her best singing and performances that will blow you away once again, age 14 and you won’t again believe what you are hearing. You will need to research the song first to understand what she is singing about because it is in the Russian language but is one of my fav’s. Here is the correct video performance performed on the first year she was on the show “You are Super” for disadvantaged and orphaned children. Но затем голос Дианы Анкудиновой берёт своё - очень необычным, очень красивым, очень полным, очень широким звучанием. Her singing will ALWAYS shock because she absolutely is unique today. You won't find another living person who sounds anything like her (a least not for a while). You can find other Contraltos, but not many. Among them, nobody else can do what she does, being polyphonic.
My take on this performance is basically there are two types of infatuation. One being girl meets boy becomes infatuated and begins to see a future with this person and then there is an infatuation towards someone and then becoming to realize this is not the type of person you need to be Infatuated with and the more you try to convince yourself this is not good the more you were drawn toward the infatuation no matter how hard you try all you can do is think of this person, knowing that everything about it is wrong, and it becomes a battle within yourself knowing that you are weak, and your emotions are taken over That’s just my personal take on this performance. She is absolutely an amazing performer and her backstory explains why she become so emotional in her performances

Почему (а не зачем) Диана поет фактическии пятью разными голосами? Вот кратко мое понимание этого выступления. В три минуты Диана и креативные постановщики с НТВ (это не относится к полностью уворованной у Томми Профитта аранжировке) создали четырехчастную кантату о возвращении к свету человечества, погрязшего во тьме и среди перевернутых представлений об истинных ценностях. Не буду здесь описывать содержание и смысл каждой из частей. Упомяну только,что финал - это признание Создателя, давно отвернувшегося от принявших сторону тьмы людей, в любви к вернувшемуся к свету человечеству (голос Дианы здесь не женский, не мужской - божественный).

Diana is polyphonic. That means that she can sing several notes at the same time which is so rare that it can't even be counted. The general consensus is that she is not from this world. She was created by the Gods and given to Mother Earth to bring joy to the world. And she does this time and time again.

Diana is the most extraordinary singer in the world. You need to listen to a lot of her stuff - as she has been singing on stage since she was 8 years old and she is now 20. Listen to everything and you will be shocked and fascinated. She's not exactly a singer - she's a mythical Siren and you can hear it. The voice aside, the arrangement of this song was so different from what I'm used to. I was thinking "wow this is dark" and then you said the same thing and added "haunting", which I think sums it up very well indeed. I haven't ever heard this covered in anything other than a happy sounding way before. It makes me think about the song in a different way.
For some reason, the TV show didn't use this song's full title. It is: "Can't Help Falling in Love [DARK VERSION]". You can find the original by Tommee Profitt, featuring Brooke.

Koality, first, this performance took place on September 25, 2021, when Diana Ankudinova was 18 years old and was invited to sing during the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. For the entirety of this competition she was competing against 8 other professional singers for the 9 week competition period. Including herself, there were 9 singer's all together and they all doubled as judges. Each singer performed one song per week. Diana and the other professional singers/judges were competing against each other, and based on their individual performances they awarded judging points to each other.
When not actively performing, Diana was also a member of the judging panel, and each week, each singer took the stage and performed a different song, and each week each singer was required to use a different genre of music, along with using a different style. Diana Ankudinova performed her cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, Can't Help Falling In Love, and this performance demonstrated that Diana has developed what many vocal professionals say is a true contralto voice type.
For those in you audience that may not know what a contralto is, a contralto is the lowest type of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare. Within the contralto voice type category are three generally recognized subcategories:
1. Coloratura Contralto, which is an agile voice specializing in fast moving, florid passages.
2. A Lyric Contralto, a voice with a lighter tone and timbre.
3. A Dramatic Contralto which is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, and the rarest of the rare Contralto voice types. Diana Ankudinova is classified and recognized as a “Dramatic Contralto” by most vocal professionals, but there are some purists that disagree. Some vocal professionals have said, because Diana is singing outside of a formal opera setting, and because a Contralto voice type is almost exclusively associated with classical repertoire, Diana is not a true Contralto, but there are not many.
Because a female singers vocal range is used to determine/define her voice type, during this performance of Can’t Help Falling In Love, her vocal range was measured. Diana’s functional vocal range went from a low of C3 (male Tenor range) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range) which now marks her as a true Contralto. Her deep, resonant, and profound sound can be classified as nothing else. During the opening of Can’t Help Falling In Love, her low Contralto voice is on full display.
During past interviews Diana has said she was not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and the lack of an upper range kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies. Diana, along with her voice teacher decided to concentrate extensively on improving and developing her higher vocal range. The improvement to her upper range is also on display during the middle portion of this performance. Near the end of Diana’s performance, the depth and the power of Diana’s “Dramatic Contralto” voice in her lower range is on full display. Dramatic Contraltos have the deepest, darkest, and richest sound and are the most powerful of the contralto voice types, and Dramatic Contralto’s are the rarest of the rare Contralto voice types.
But it’s not all about how low can she go. It is the exceptional quality of her tone in both her lower and upper registers that makes her so very special. It's in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her sound, along with her ability to access and use an enormous amount of resonance.
Diana has also mastered a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing, which is an extraordinary accomplishment for so young a singer. Someone that has mastered the polyphonic singing technique can create up to two, and sometimes up to three different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones. It is this polyphonic singing ability that can make it sound like more than one person singing, and is why some people believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of artificial electronic voice manipulation like Auto Tune, or a vocoder. Or she is using pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing off stage in the background. She has also been accused of lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. There is No artificial manipulation of Diana's voice at all, and no one else is singing off stage, nor is she lip-syncing to a vocal track. What you are hearing is the musical score a with a choir on a backing tracks to fill in and round out this performance. Diana Ankudinova, and only Diana Ankudinova is actually singing Can't Help Falling In Love.
One of the most asked frequently asked questions is, how does she do it? How does such a young female singer achieve such a low, rich, deep, profound, and resonant sound? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing those low notes to actually see what is happening, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply to attribute Diana's ability to hours and years of vocal training, but also to her just winning the genetic lottery, meaning Diana Ankudinova was just born with unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx appears to also be larger, and her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than a majority of other female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity (mouth). It’s this unique combination of vocal anatomy that appears to give Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, and full sounds she is known for, but without actually scoping her vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure.
The ShowMaskGoOn! concluded on November 20, 2021. During Diana's final performance, the judge on the top row, and the first to stand is a well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan who was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this inaugural competition, and he is married to world-famous soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana's performance she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of those competitors is also a well-known contemporary Russian singer, Julia Parshuta. Julia is in the center row dressed all in red, and when she stands and looks totally lost at the end of Diana's performance, then then puts both hands on top of her head with a has a look of total shock and bewilderment. Finally, The Show MaskGoOn concludes with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points over the 9 weeks, and was declared the show winner!

Wonderful reaction! Diana was 15 when she sang Wicked Game, and was 18 here. This performance was from a Russian show that aired in the fall of 2021, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course of the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles.

BTW, a "white crow" in Russian is someone who stands out from everyone else, in a positive way.

One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh' It's Not Yet Evening" ua-cam.com/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/v-deo.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.

From what I've heard from other reactions, this arrangement is performed in a minor key, contributing to the strange haunting sound. She was 18 yo singing this song and has just turned 20. I was hoping you would watch the other Contestants talk to Diana about her vocals here. This was the first episode. Some of the Contestants had heard her sing when she was younger but had not heard her more recently. Some had never heard her sing at all. This show is WILD. ALL of the Contestants, including Diana, were also Judges! All of their comments were very positive and they were all just flummoxed at Diana's sound. Keep in mind, everybody here are professionals in some way or other with different types of singing. Diana is just THAT treasure and she happened to be the youngest contestant/ judge there.
Totally understand, but it would've been almost 5 minutes of just hearing people talk, and I just wanted to focus on how her performance made me feel! Because it was so cool.

With this "harpoon" Diana impresses almost everyone from the first seconds ... and attracts the listener, up to the last second of the performance ... And the spectator has only to "helplessly" allow her to pull herself out of the zone of the already familiar world vocal - into the zone of her element ... into the zone of Diana's musical tornado ...! And that was not only because all the judges-singers stood up applauding her - she's very much familiar with that kind of the audience's appraisals of her fantastic performances. She broke into tears because she had lived those several minutes of the song as the character she had been representing to us through her so truthful interpretation of both the lyrics and the music arrangement of this song ! 😮😮😮😊❤
I’m still mad that the people in charge of filming this episode didn’t show the look on her face after the last note. There’s a picture of it somewhere but they decided to cut straight to the judges for some reason

Верное замечание-Диана не просто поет,она рассказывает историю.Она создает ее прямо там,на сцене,и в эту историю веришь.У нее для каждого человека в зале есть что сказать и каждый найдет что то для себя.Добавь к этому ее способность уходить в песню целиком(Диана впадает в некий транс когда поет,она не помнит момента выступления)и ты поймешь насколько могуч и всеобъемлющ ее гений❤

To me Diana is mesmerizing, hypnotic as well as just plain beautiful. She is a natural on the stage. From every thing I have been to find out about her, she is also a wonderful sweet person. Diana is the complete package. As I have said before it seem some times God sends an Angel to earth to show us mortals how it is done. I just hope those around her protect her from the evils that are bound to be drawn to her.

But my emotional part is not convinced, I'm not really with her. But what a natural born talent she is (for me it's like Maurane and Celine Dion and Kate Bush in one body). Diana performed nine songs over the course of this show. My personal ranking of those nine puts this performance in fourth place. Then, outside of this show, there are many more great performances.
Did you see Jenna's reaction video of "Wicked Game"? I think that that is better than "Can't Help Falling in Love". But, beyond these two songs, there are a thousand(?) Individual and distinct performances that have been recorded and published. There are very few "clinkers", the vast majority are at least good, many are great, and some are masterpieces of art.

For me, this beautifully dark and haunting version fits her voice perfectly. It also gives me “I’m not supposed to love you; in fact, I don’t even want to love you, but I do .. despite everything.
Also, behind or underneath the darkness is a subtle anger and/or resentment that comes with being seemingly helpless to resist the emotion and love towards one she feels she shouldn’t. It’s like a lady falling in love with a vampire.

She should have 100,000,000 views for a lot of her songs but I think UA-cam hide her total views probably because she's russian !!!
