      Same. I know a lot about wheel size and how filmer wheels are usually way softer and bigger but I never really thought about slight adjustments to cater to specific types of skating. I've always just rode 52 spitfires and never really think about it. Good to know though. I might actually try some harder wheels next time.

    I think the surface you skate and your weight really will impact the size and hardness of the wheels. When I'm in a skatepark the 99A Spitfire Lock ins are wonderful. When I try skating around on those wheels on the sketchy pavement around me I just end up wanting to walk and contemplate going on a diet.

      Hahahaha that’s why I sprung for two sets after getting 8-9 years of not skating. I got the spitfire classic 58m 80a for the rough and tough streets, and the f4 conical 56m 101a which I kind of regret. I feel like I should’ve grabbed a smaller wheel for tricks and slides.

Spitfire F4 101 slide better but shrink fast and unevenly and cone like crazy if you don’t rotate every session or sometimes during a session you will have one wheel smaller than the rest in literally 1 day not joking ...

    • @brandonlange8693
      @brandonlange8693 3 роки тому

      They're called risers. Puts the board farther away from the wheels. Limits wheele bite, vibration and supposed to help with stress cracks. I used to use them when I was younger, but stopped. Just person preference. Always got cracks regardless

    • @Mr_Clean
      @Mr_Clean 3 роки тому

      because back in the day when you were riding Bullet 66s you used a 1/2-in riser pad to keep the wheel from hitting the board and throwing you off every time you carved.

    Does wheel size AFFECT wheel hardness?
    As in...is a 52mm 95a wheel harder than a 56mm 95a wheel?
    By the way that food analogy was hilariously off and awful...
    Pretty sure you can kill someone winging a 97a wheel to the temple...lol
