i remember seeing this on TV as a kid having absolutely no clue what it was. after a little while, i stopped seeing it on TV, and i was wondering what happened to it. I still have a couple toys from this cartoon
I always thought it was cancelled like other shows, never knew it had a proper ending, just like you, I stopped seeing it as it suddenly stopped running on tv
Well, there was a scene where Yaksha dies. Leaving a devastated Sonia that cried about losing a really close loved one. A tank soldier tries cheering her up, even saying the words "I love you, Mystic Sonia." Sonia asks him to say it again, twice, and he gets turned into another Yaksha. Which makes her happy and whole once again to see Yaksha, like he was reincarnated. That's honestly the darkest part of the show, yet it's celebrated as a miracle. This show is amazing.
funny enough, in the episode "Peacock Castle", the peacocks and their queen (yes, the beautiful peacock is a female one) become infatuated with Sonia that they become Yaksha BUT were able to turn back normal after Ray shocks Sonia into a charred mess signifying that there is an early window of time where the spell can be reversed
@@darkhorseman90 I always imagined that the spell can be reversed at any time, but would require the cursed individual to stop loving Sonia in order to be cancelled. It makes sense to me considering the soldier genuinely loved Sonia while the individuals in "Peacock Castle" were under a trance and only loved her for as long as she looked beautiful, meaning the spell would likely have to be maintained by the individual themself in order to remain in place.
The show's geometric art-style is what really stands out to me. Back when watching this show, I always feel bad for Commander ApeTrully because he always gets captured when he tries to make peace with the animals.
I always thought it was interesting how Apetruelly seemed defenseless when pretending to be a human but would be very resourceful when he wasn't in disguised.
To this day as an adult I’m disappointed there was no episode they learned about Ape Truly’s secret identity and had a heart warming scene of accepting him in the end.
I forgot that they never had Ape Truly reveal himself. I thought that they did it at some point, but that’s probably just me misremembering an episode that almost revealed but didn’t. I’m surprised they never actually did that, it feels like such an obvious plot line to resolve before the end.
@@aceofspades8474 a few of the members of big green knew, arguably even jumpy, but it has never really been a point of contention aside from that one episode
Man, I didn't realize how much I missed "pre adventure time" cartoon art styles until I remembered all my childhood classics such as Billy & Mandy, Hero 108, Ying Yang Yo, and so and so on
I love this art style too. Although "pre-Adventure Time" art style is somewhat similar to "post-AT", the older style felt like it had more personality compared to something like Regular Show or Steven Universe (ew)
I always liked how unique the animal abilities were for them, like you had jumpy the rabbit turning a jump rope into a ball of death, ducks who folded in puzzle pieces flattening each other, a gorilla going into the pouch of a kangaroo for a buff man combo, I'm sure there are others but those are the only ones off the top of my head. Always amazed me as a kid.
I can tell you why you didn't hear about this show: the show was basically tanked. The show had a total of two time-slots when it was on: the episode premiere slot and a graveyard 6:00 or 6:30 am time-slot. There was no catch-up marathon and there was no other way to actually go ahead and find it besides being up at 6 am to watch whatever re-run they put on. So it was very difficult to get any viewers and actually watch the show. So it really didn't get much of a chance to live it seems at least after that first season. The first season had decent marketing but the second I didn't even know existed because it wasn't marketed. Barely existed.
My TV had a pacific and eastern timezone version of cartoon network so I could watch the 6 am timeslot at 9 am and I watched hero 108 every time it was on but I never knew they made a second season I just assumed it got canceled like so many other shows
I've been remembering this show vaguely for years as that geometric show where eagles turn into vultures after they lose their hair and their head gets elongated. Today I remembered the show's name
I remember coming home from school and watching this show everyday. Especially since I was such an animal lover as a kid, getting to see what animal they'd show on today's episode was exciting, that and the art style was so striking and unique that this show stayed in my memory long after it disappeared
I remember as a kid, I would watch Tom and Jerry knowing this show was next. I'd lay on the floor and watch the episodes, admiring every second of it! I had a rough childhood growing up, not a lot of money and foster care and even abuse, but this was one of the few bright memories of my past. Thank you Hero 108 for getting me through the tough times.
I have been in love with Hero: 108 for years. I've always been interested in the lore of the series, and would love for it to be brought back. Kinda figured no one would bring it up, but leave it to Jordan Fringe, master of remembering old cartoons, to put it back into the minds of his audience. You're great, man. Keep it up! Also, the ManRay and Patrick wallet joke, CLASSIC.
Used to watch this every morning, didn’t fully understand the plot of the show but it was fun to watch no less. It reminded me a lot of that Lilo and Stitch show where they rounded up all the other experiments.
As a Gen Z born in 2001 I vaguely remember not only this show but others too that aren’t mentioned or rememberable from personal experiences but did enjoyed Hero 108
I remember crying (I was a child, gimme a break) when I first saw the episode where the first Yaksha died. It was traumatizing for 9 year old me and super upsetting to see Mystique Sonia move on from him so quickly for another just because they looked the same. I saw it as her taking advantage of both her curse and his love for her and it completely ruined my view of Mystique Sonia for the rest of the series. Even still, I loved the show so much and I watched every episode I could.
I’d always thought it turned into “Yaksha”, not a yaksha. Like it developed into the same one as before, considering it still had all the same skills and such. Was that wrong?
I remember GoldenEye/Lion King easily getting forgiven for that for some reason, however he became one of my favorite characters for being the most used 'Second Squad' member. Don't get me wrong, the indication means that some person just died in that episode and was replaced without a care.
@@callofhaloinfinite6336 After watching things about Water Margin, the novel the series is based, there are some stuff that make sense with context. For example Mystiv Sonia having a curse where people becoming yaksha is a nod of her character Sūn Èrniang, which was a man-eater... literally. Her and her husband where cannibals in the novel who become part of the outlaws, and her nickname was no other than the Female Yaksha.
Commenting a second time: something I've recently found out (completely by accident!) is that Hero: 108 also had a series of 4 books. I was completely unaware of their existence - there was nothing that even so much as hinted at a written adaptation, and it took me more than a decade to discover this. The books don't even seem to have any English prints, which is probably why there was basically nothing about them online, and there are only 3 languages that I'm aware of in that regard. The only reason I actually found out in the first place is because one of these 3 languages just so happens to be Serbian and, being Croatian, I had happened to type out the exact title of the books into Google while trying to see if there was anything about Hero: 108 in Croatian. If anyone wants to look this up, the books were originally Italian, titled"108 Eroi" and written by Tommaso Percivale.
My dear Sir. As a certified FANATIC of this show, I absolutely thank you for your contribution. No seriously. I kinda knew that the comic existed, but the Wikia only has the Chinese first book or something. I was always on the hunt for the rest of the books since then -doesn't matter the language (I get it translated somehow). Do you know how the titles in Serbian and Spanish are? I'm looking it up rn, but only find 2 books available.
This brought back so much memories! One specifically was that Lin Chung first started out as a not really good artist. But as you progress through every episode you can see he keeps improving his art little by little to the point after they rescued the camel king he declared a art contest against Lin Chung and Lin Chung won which made camel king salty and leave the team to be against them for that short bit till negotiating with him to come back. It's very vague but my young child brain remembered that one detail about Lin Chung and really enjoyed seeing him achieve more and more in his art. Really set a nice message to keep going at it at the hobby you love, you will get better at it with practice in time.
No one ever talks about this show but I remember *loving* it when I would wake up early before school. Those early morning shows like Hero 108 were so fun(Yugioh GX and Beyblade would come on too). The concept is simple, the art style memorable, and it's just overall a cohesive fun little show!
I still remember this show, it's been burned into my memory since I was in middle school. My favorite line was always from Mighty Ray: "FEAR MY MIGHTY EYEBALLS!"
You awoke a bunch of hidden memories of mine with this. I've been trying to look for this show for years, but didn't know what to search since it's been so long, but what stuck with me was its appearance and the whole turtle/gourd tank thing and a bunch of episode moments. Really brought me back to my childhood with this.
The whole show is now fully watchable on the Kabillion channel, I ran into it and awoke the same memories as you. I didn’t know what it was called either and just kinda went down a rabbit hole, they even give us small animations of the team every once in a while.
I remember being a huuge fan of this show as a kid, and further along. I swear I saw the finale once, and I wish it would have some kind of place on a streaming website for people now to watch it easily. My favorite aspect was watching how each animal had a strange ability, it was always a fun thing they got really creative with throughout the show. Whales being basically submarines, the turtles being transportation, the wolves could fly, etc etc.
@@dextertek9536 All you have to do is look up Hero 108 on UA-cam, and it should come up. It should be on "Kabillion Channel", if you still want me to be specific.
Hero 108 was always such an interesting show to me. Even though I haven't watched a whole lot of it when I was young, I can still clearly remember so much of it vividly, mostly thanks the its artstyle. The writing and characters can be a little basic and grating sometimes especially in the earlier episodes, but the whole presentation and artstyle of the show is to this day is one of the best I've seen and the story gradually evolves slowly but steadily as Big Green gets more animal allies by their side. The characters from their designs and their abilities are some of the most unique I've ever seen in any cartoon. From Mighty Ray's electrical eyes that only can be used if he eats a banana, to pretty much everything Mystique Sonia can do, everyone feels so distinct and unique not from just each other, but also other shows. I also love how most of the weapons and vehicles are super unconventional in not only their appearances and the materials they are made of but also their mechanisms, such as how the Gourd Tanks have the soldiers that operate them use their raw strength to fire cannonballs out from the muzzles via palm strikes, how Ling Chung uses bamboo shoots as ammo for his staff which he can use for his staff to fire at a long range, Jumpy Ghostface being able to use his jumprope as not only a whip but also create a barrier that can deflect attacks or allow him to roll over enemies, as well as how the Chameleon Army that High Roller enlists early on in the series have armor made out of an old bell to protect them since literally any attack will make them cry. It's all good stuff. Honestly this show was super slept on and it deserves more recognition. ^_^
Fun Fact: The Bronze Giant is based on Bronze Men which were statues marked with all of the accupoints and energy meridian pathways used for reference for doctors at the time in China. They are also mentioned in martial arts Wuxia stories like Beware of Chicken.
No joke: I think this show needs a reboot. I would love to see character backstories fleshed out. Why is Sonia and Mr. No Hands cursed? What the heck is with Lin Ching to be all powerful? Why wouldn't the humans follow Monkey King but instead follow Ape Trully? WHY DOES SECOND SQUAD STAY WHEN THEY'RE TREATED HORRIBLY!? If there are zebra princes, where is the kingdom? If there is a Bear King, where are his people? What was High Roller's base of operations before the Citadel? So many tidbits given and we barely know anything if the world.
There are some comics of the series that explain some of these questions, its available on their fandomwiki site i guess. But you are right, i always thought that show had so much potential to be more than it was
I thought that Lin Ching was turning evil at some point, since when he got first got his powers he'd been acting suspicious. But since that wasn't the case, other questions came up. Everything started getting weird after the Fire Tornadoes appeared, the first time Lin Ching got his powers, and the second time he went back in time to accidentally create Twin Masters. Did the first Fire Tornado send Lin Ching back in time to create Twin Masters which sets off the second season? Not to mention the Spirit Master who appeared out of nowhere, and the connection between the Wish-Granting Demons, Twin Masters, and the Zebra Brothers' lamps. Hard agree on the Second Squad's mistreatment!
i think no hands was cursed by the zebra brothers but i could be making that up lin chung is the main protagonist so of course hes the best monkey king isnt human, its a simple race issue in a race war they spoke about this in the show second squad wasnt treated too terribly right??? wasnt it mainly in their heads because they wernt as good as first squad no clue for the zebra princes the bear king is that cyborg guy and his people live around him??? dude high rollers base is the bear kingdom/ east citadel and reading the wiki at some point high roller was a jester and then cast into east citadel so during his evilness the citadel was always his base
Honestly, the original version of it was a lot more gritty in canon. I would LOVE to see this show rebooted and marketed towards teens and young adults.
It really makes me happy that B-list cartoons make their way onto youtube in FULL. Martin Mystery, Code Lyoko, Totally Spies, Home Movies, The Life and Times of Juniper Lee, all of them can be watched on UA-cam!
I missed this show so much. I am so glad that you reminded me of this. Mighty Ray was one of my favorite characters as a kid, and it was what inspired my love of the more eastern side of mythology. Watching a lot of your videos has reminded me of what I loved, but never remembered the name of. Thank you.
I remember the episode where Lin Chung kept making beautiful drawings on accident; and everyone kept thinking he was doing it on purpose and he kept getting upset about it.
I remember back in the early seasons when the joke was Lin Chung being terrible at art, it’s cool that they actually made him improve over time and ended with him being a genuinely masterful artist.
Honestly, I actually liked Hero 108 in a way, would love a third season, more plot-oriented. Also, one of the good things in late 2000s/early 2010sCartoon Network right before Adventure Time's explosion, and fuck me for not mentioning the originals, but also licensed shows, but honestly? Seeing Hero 108's throwback made me actually nostalgic for stuff like Generator Rex, or hell, even first season of original Bakugan! (which would be cool to see too, although original Bakugan doesn't seem to be that forgotten)
@@sdragon5556 Yes! Also, it's one of the very few shows that were actually more teen oriented, therefore better so it was great in that regard too, same thing for me with Ben 10 Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, which is odd since I wasn't a huge Ben fan anyway
I really liked this show as a teen, I found it around 2013-2014 randomly. To help my mom out, I would wake up at around 6am and go downstairs to bottle-feed my then-infant sister while watching TV. This show was always the first one on. It brings back nice memories bc even tho bc I actually kind of enjoyed those super quiet mornings with my baby sister and low volume TV. I always loved the character designs
"Swiss Army Tongue" Mystique Sonia. That's a first. In all seriousness, I do fondly remember the show. Its art style stood out among other shows, the characters are indeed memorable and loveable, and the story plot was really good. Honestly for a while I felt like I was going mad because I was the only one among my friends who remembered Hero 108. Some of them do remember it well, which is a relief for me, and a pleasant one because I can talk about it again without having to explain it. The show needs some kind of revival. I think if Cartoon Network were to do a game composed of many of their most nostalgic and outstanding cartoons (a Smash Bros. Fighter, a racing style game, etc), Hero 108 absolutely needs to be an option, if anything for the prospect of seeing Mighty Ray duke it out against Numbah 4 (Clash of the Dimwits), or Sonia beating out Muscle Man, Ashi, and Grim in a race around the Bagg's farm in Nowhere. Idk. I feel like these days Hero 108 needs to be utilized more. Heck, if Nickelodeon will use shows like Invader Zim for their All Star Brawl, then Cartoon Network has no excuse to pass on Hero 108
Really liked this one as a kid! There were a lot of interesting ideas that they could play with. I would LOVE to see a movie or revival of this iconic cartoon!
This show is highly underrated in my opinion. Lin Chung is one of my most favorite heroes and Twin Masters is one of my most favorite villains. I've managed to watch the entire series several years ago when they showed it in the mornings, and I'm glad it got a proper ending. It was one of the shows that taught me the importance of peace and harmony, and I'm glad to have found it when it first premiered on CN.
Man, I've gotten little flashes of this show in my mind for *years* and could never remember what it was, or if it was a fever dream. Thank you so much for covering this show! Now I finally know it *was* real, and I remember a lot of the fun I had watching it.
Why yes, Mr. Fringe, i absolutely remember Hero: 108. It has one of the most unique artstyles ive ever seen, and the characters were awesome too. Though i never really watched it to the end
Just everything of this show took me. The animal kings and queens and that they are different color conpared with their soldiers. Every weapon is plant based. Chinese inspired kind of. And the whole factors about trust between both kingdoms just took. Best lore ever. Also i LOVE the total random powers of the characters in the series. Like the camels and camel king that is a art master and looks like a combination between a brush, crayon and pen. The Duckbil king who is a puzzle piece and along with his soldiers can form a. Total puzzle sheet like a flying carpet. Its just sooo cool to see this creativity. Sadly they don’t air it or upload it any more in my language so i have to watch it in English instead. Which isn’t bad btw. But it doesn’t have the same nostalgia as when i was a kid. I really hope they upload the dutch versions.
Oh wow, i was convinced this show was some kind of Fever dream for the longest time! I Loved Lin chung as a Kid, mostly because i Always had an appreciacion for the local martial master with Little in the field of magic/super Powers. Honestly, i didn't even know the second season existed, and completely removed all info about the First from my Memory, but that almost surrealist geometrical art stile Is how i instantly recognized It nonetheless. Very unique show
I have been trying to find this show for probably 2 years with the only thing I remembered being the turtle base and animals. You are truly a blessing for popping up out of nowhere thank you
Oh, finally! I was waiting for you to cover Hero: 108! I always loved that show, and seeing it come up in my recommended feed with your channel highlighted had me extremely excited :D

I actually remember hearing about and playing the MMO when it was new and fresh from friends then finding out way later there was a show at all. I remember really digging the art style and designs of the characters. It's nice to see it's one of the few shows that got a satisfying ending with it still being open to continuation one day. Thanks for the reminder of this series.
I remember watching this show when I was sick. Didn’t help the fact it just sorta vanished soon after. But for some god forsaken reason, I remember the fact the red guy hated bananas. To the point where every time I eat a banana to this day, I’m like “He he red man.”
I vaguely remember watching this show, but looking at it now it most certainly kicks ass!(with some caveats) As an aspiring writer, this show was surprisingly inspiring in worldbuilding and character writing.
I love that show. I was lucky enough to see it's end and it was over the top, also very satisfying! I wonder if some of the stuff in the show could be re-created in Dungeons and Dragons?
Oh I remember this show! I loved Lin Chung, and Mighty Ray was my favorite character. Something about him pushing his eyes like buttons to fire his eyes just made me laugh!
Now thats it's spoken. I do remember Hero: 108. I think I was 7 years old at the time. I loved Jumpy and Mystic Sonia's character design so much. I liked the art style and rewatching the show brings back so much.
Hero 108 basically reminds me of Suikoden if ever heard of it seeing as the game is based on 108 Stars Of Destiny in which you get a bad ending if you don’t get all 108!
My god how can I ever forget about Hero: 108? I even rewatched it in the recent past. I loved it and it was a huge part of my childhood. A bit sad it ended after only 2 seasons but at the very least it didn't end off on a cliffhanger or something.
*finally* I have been hoping someone would cover this show, mentioning it whenever any animation channel asked "do you guys have any topic ideas?" Only for something well known to be covered instead. I watched this show religiously during it's 1st season, and a bit during the second. I remember it airing on boomerang during the live action era of CN if im not mistaken, which is one of the reasons I tuned in. This show feels very distinct from most of the other things on the channel, and it's animation style and storytelling kept me coming back for more. Jumpyghostface is my favorite, would totally make fanart if I was good at that sort of thing.
I remember watching this cartoon, it was one of the last ones I watched on cable before we finally ditched it since there was more interesting content on youtube for us at the time. It didn't stick out all too much to me, but it was still a cartoon good enough to kill a few minutes with.
I remember a big chunk of my high school period when this was the most visually interesting show airing during my breakfast time to leave on in the background - I still feel super fond of how... landscape-y(?) it was.
I remember Hero 108 being one of those shows I'd always catch the tail-end of when I got home from school and thinking "huh, that looks...weird" and never thinking of it again.
I remember this show as much as other shows. The show reminds me of other shows such as Teen Titans, Lazytown, Wild Kratts, Growing Up Creepie, and other shows.
I actually tried to play the Hero 108 MMO, but my laptop at the time couldn't run it. :( Oh, and Mystique Sonia was my favorite. Interesting power set, and a fun personality. Jumpy Ghostface is good too.
Oh man, same here. I was super excited about it too. I remember wanting to play as Lin Chung. Looking back on it though, why I never bothered trying it on my brother's PC is beyond me.
@@JAND4LISMS I thought this show and the game had been forgotten by nearly everyone at this point. Nice to see there are others out there who liked it too.

im going to be honest, this is probably my favorite show of all time. something about it is just so fun to watch and its so interesting to me that i just cant ignore it.
This show was so underrated! I loved it so much as a child! I also feel like it was a predecessor for such shows like Steven Universe, or OK KO Let's Be Heroes!
Thanks for covering this show! I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more attention than it has! The premise is interesting, the art style ESPECIALLY is unique, and you can even watch the whole series for free on UA-cam, which is sort of unheard of! The fact that it even had its own line of toys and even an online mmo too and still seems relatively unheard of makes it all the more intriguing. It's nice to see this getting a bit more exposure :] I've been involved in the fandom on and off for awhile on social media and in a tiny discord we have. I used to watch this show a lot on demand, or while getting ready for school!
So, I remember seeing a couple of episodes of this series years back when I just happened to be watching Cartoon Network. There was really just one thing that really stood out to me. It was how the main character (Big forehead dude) seemed to be better than everyone at everything, and how he was always right all the time. So much so that I had nicknamed him "Sage of Six Paths." I only watched, maybe two or three episodes, but all the other teammates just came across as bumbling idiots who had nothing but the stupidest ideas for every given situation, while Forehead dude had the correct solution and insight from the get go, trying to convince his friends to see reason. The teammates then proceed to screw everything up, while the Main character goes on to solve the issue all on his own, despite the interference of all his incompetent allies. Was this something consistent throughout the series? Did I just so happen to watch the wrong episodes? Or am I just misremembering the whole thing altogether?
Hi. I know I'm late, but to answer your question: YES. "Forehead guy" aka Ling-Chung (his "forehead" was his hat) is a massive Mary Sue. While the show is per se pretty cool and you can continue watching the later seasons, the show overall only just focuses more on Ling-Chung more and more. He is the only one who gets a proper background (despite Mighty Ray), he gets "magical powers" that end up defeating the villain and overall, he basically pilots the final robot to victory. Unsurprisingly, all the episodes not featuring him are pretty cool.
Oh I absolutely adored this show when I was younger, so it's always neat to see it get brought up! Also, I actually have a tradition where I rewatch it once a year! ^^
I remember when the eagles were fighting them and they lost. They started to look like vultures and the one of the main characters upper cutted some of them, turning them into ostriches lmfao. That was the coolest thing I saw as a kid 😂😂
Oh man, I love this show so much. I was actually a little scared bc the writing in this show is average at best and I always considered it a sort of guilty pleasure for me, but I'm so happy you had so many good things to say about it. A third, well-written season would have done wonders for this show. There are so many unanswered questions and hidden lore, and as long as they put some sort of limiter on Lin Chung's power (seriously that stuff is op as hell) it would have been amazing
I freaking loved this show as a kid! So glad to hear it had a satisfying conclusion, I'll have to watch it all the way thro sometime. I remember liking 2nd Squad way more than 1st Squad and hoping they would get more attention. Didn't know about the confusion with their leader's name tho lol.
I remember watching the show but never played the MMO. Really interesting show with unique animation and character design. I feel like it doesn't get talked about enough today

But it still has a higher rating than hero 108 on IMDb
Man, I didn't realize how much I missed "pre adventure time" cartoon art styles until I remembered all my childhood classics such as Billy & Mandy, Hero 108, Ying Yang Yo, and so and so on
"Adventure Time" and "Regular Show" where good shows but a lot of their copy-cats suck
@@SirAroace
Steven universe is the worst thing ever it’s so dogshit
I love this art style too. Although "pre-Adventure Time" art style is somewhat similar to "post-AT", the older style felt like it had more personality compared to something like Regular Show or Steven Universe (ew)
You mean how most of them looked like some shitty wannabe anime?
@@austinharvey7644Did you look at even one of them before making that comment
You gotta admit, Jumpy is the perfect “Cute doesn’t always mean Nice” character.

Me too.
I watched it, most kids did since we had to wake 5/5:30am to get ready for school
It came on for me right after school at 2:30pm so I watched it almost everyday
My TV had a pacific and eastern timezone version of cartoon network so I could watch the 6 am timeslot at 9 am and I watched hero 108 every time it was on but I never knew they made a second season I just assumed it got canceled like so many other shows
oh yeah I remember it being almost midnight for me when this was up
Dude i always watched that shit. 6 am was get up for school to eat breakfast time. Shit was great
You're telling me this show had an actual ENDING??? I remember watching the episodes really late at night but I never knew there was an actual ending.
Yeah. An "ending". But don't expect any closure, lol
That’s why we have fanfic 😄
LITERALLY on the drive home yesterday I was thinking of this show but I COULD NOT REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS CALLED so I was hoping you would cover it
At this rate he'll be covering everything we need
I've been remembering this show vaguely for years as that geometric show where eagles turn into vultures after they lose their hair and their head gets elongated. Today I remembered the show's name
I remember coming home from school and watching this show everyday. Especially since I was such an animal lover as a kid, getting to see what animal they'd show on today's episode was exciting, that and the art style was so striking and unique that this show stayed in my memory long after it disappeared
It was on early in the morning for me.
Man really got home after school at 6AM
Keep it up!
Also, the ManRay and Patrick wallet joke, CLASSIC.
theres far too much in the lore to have it just go to waste, except it just did
If you’re really interested in it, I recommend you read the Chinese classic “The Water Margin” which Hero: 108 is based off of
I wish they’d flesh out more of the interesting characters like Yan Ching (my beloved)
I think he has a lot of potential for character growth

Same
I’d always thought it turned into “Yaksha”, not a yaksha. Like it developed into the same one as before, considering it still had all the same skills and such. Was that wrong?
@@LightlessLunala That's what I thought too! I thought it was like a Phoenix sort of situation where Yaksha always comes back
I remember GoldenEye/Lion King easily getting forgiven for that for some reason, however he became one of my favorite characters for being the most used 'Second Squad' member.
What are the other two languages?
@@Poketom-ob1dl I mentioned Serbian and Italian already, so the one I didn't mention is Spanish.
Interesting discovery
My dear Sir. As a certified FANATIC of this show, I absolutely thank you for your contribution.
No seriously.
I kinda knew that the comic existed, but the Wikia only has the Chinese first book or something. I was always on the hunt for the rest of the books since then -doesn't matter the language (I get it translated somehow).
Do you know how the titles in Serbian and Spanish are?
I'm looking it up rn, but only find 2 books available.
Never mind. I bought them all in Italian.

CH-CH-CH-CH-_CHOW_
Honestly happy to see that this show got an actual conclusion with the potential for more, that's shockingly rare
The entire series is on UA-cam actually.
@@toxicghost58 Show me
@@dextertek9536 All you have to do is look up Hero 108 on UA-cam, and it should come up.
You can watch this whole show for free on Kabillion’s UA-cam channel
I agree who is the rightful heir to the throne and what happened to the last emperor
Hard agree on the Second Squad's mistreatment!
i think no hands was cursed by the zebra brothers but i could be making that up
lin chung is the main protagonist so of course hes the best
monkey king isnt human, its a simple race issue in a race war they spoke about this in the show
second squad wasnt treated too terribly right??? wasnt it mainly in their heads because they wernt as good as first squad
no clue for the zebra princes
the bear king is that cyborg guy and his people live around him??? dude high rollers base is the bear kingdom/ east citadel
and reading the wiki at some point high roller was a jester and then cast into east citadel so during his evilness the citadel was always his base

As an artist, that was the most relatable episode ever.
I remember back in the early seasons when the joke was Lin Chung being terrible at art, it’s cool that they actually made him improve over time and ended with him being a genuinely masterful artist.
“Oh that Lin Chung…he’s sooooo modest”
Honestly, I actually liked Hero 108 in a way, would love a third season, more plot-oriented.
Also, one of the good things in late 2000s/early 2010sCartoon Network right before Adventure Time's explosion, and fuck me for not mentioning the originals, but also licensed shows, but honestly? Seeing Hero 108's throwback made me actually nostalgic for stuff like Generator Rex, or hell, even first season of original Bakugan! (which would be cool to see too, although original Bakugan doesn't seem to be that forgotten)
Oh generator rex, that was my childhood
Generator Rex was straight fire. It had suprisingly deep lore for a kids show.

I watched this show religiously during it's 1st season, and a bit during the second. I remember it airing on boomerang during the live action era of CN if im not mistaken, which is one of the reasons I tuned in.
So much so that I had nicknamed him "Sage of Six Paths."
I only watched, maybe two or three episodes, but all the other teammates just came across as bumbling idiots who had nothing but the stupidest ideas for every given situation, while Forehead dude had the correct solution and insight from the get go, trying to convince his friends to see reason.
MEMORIES UNLOCKED thank you every time I tried to talk to someone about this I'd feel crazy like I imagined the whole show😭😭

I really liked watching this show as a kid. High Roller was such a hilarious villain.
I remember watching the show but never played the MMO. Really interesting show with unique animation and character design. I feel like it doesn't get talked about enough today
