Satan, devil, demon, evil spirits and what so ever the name we give to these being, it all means that they are causer and tempter to do evil or bad or criminal activities.
There are two different and opposite types of forces in almost all fields. For example good and bad, bright and dark, cold or hot, God and devil, right and wrong, black and white, pity and cruelty and so on.
Some times both things can be in any person at two different occasions. A man may be good to some people and the same person may be bad to other people is an example.
There is a evil force that tempts us to do wrong things like to steel some thing from other or to create a lust for something and to seek pleasure in any form including sadistic form like the rape and so on. Case of Adam and Eve is known to all. the temptations to eat apples by Adam was created by the evil forces.
Human beings are prone to be influenced by these evil forces easily . They, that is evil forces tempt human beings to commit any type of sins, crimes and harmful activities even in sadistic form (a method in which one derive pleasure by causing pain and harm to the other from whom he is getting pleasure, for example is the case of rape or molestation).
As long as 'life' exists both evil and good forces will be there to regulate the activities of the living beings. We should accept this idea as eternal truth.
