- In this video, I go out on the hunt after a week with lots of rain only to discover the banks and gravel bars blown to bits and re-sorted in the most glorious way imaginable. There amongst the rubble awaited a find the likes of which I had never found. Glory!
Whoever nade that gorget knew what they were doing 🔥🔥
Nice pice of fossilized coral too
Thanks buddy! It sure is finely polished and shaped
Great finds. Looks like an impact chip right down the center of that dark point. Nice stuff
thank you!
As always enjoyed watching thanks for sharing 👍
Hey, felt like I hadn't heard from you in a while! Thanks for coming back and watching, buddy. You going to that Springfield, MO artifact show in May?
@MeAndMyShadow yes I'm still around I always watch and I've also been uploading a bunch of shorts and yes I'll also being going to the artifact show
@@missourioutdooradventures I am going to try and go to that show. I'd like to bring my Grandpa to see that show. If I end up being able to go, I'll let you know ahead of time. Maybe we'll run into eachother! Would be really cool to meet a fellow Tuber
Aaron you find some amazing stuff bro👍 I wish I had a place like you've got to hunt my friend 👍😃 it shows up jist fine my friend 👍
Thank you, Sharon. I feel very lucky to have such good hunting grounds
Awesome brother , that gorget was beautiful and some nice points too 👍👍👍
Thank you! Hey, my brother in law sent me a link the other day and said, "hey you should check out this guy's channel. He has some really good videos of fishing and artifact hunting, you'd probably enjoy" I opened up the link and it was to your channel! Lol, I said, "I know that guy already and he DOES have great videos!" 😃
Great finds and video shadow man!! I'm yet to find a forget , congrats on yours 🏹
Much appreciated! I never thought I'd really find one. It seems like I see field walkers find them more than stream hunters so I feel like I'm pretty lucky
Awesome gorget piece!!
Thanks buddy!
Hi Aaron 👋 bro you're Arrowhead Hunting today ? I hope you find a Humongous CACHE OF ARROWHEADS Bro!!!! 👍👋😃
If I ever find a cahce, I'll be doing a happy dance like you've never seen before!
Nice points brother, that gorget was killer. Your spot keeps getting better
Thank you! That particular spot has seen a lot of hunters on it lately so I was happy to have found it
Heck yea, killer finds at least you got enough rain that it moved stuff around. The computer says tomorrow we are going to get downpours I'll believe that when I see it thanks for sharing. 👍👍💤
Thank you, Z! We keep getting some solid downpours every few days. It's been good. Hope the computer was right and you got some rain to wash out some smokers!
enjoyed seeing the finds
Thanks! Appreciate you taking the time!
Sup Aaron, good save on the broken pendant. Good point too. 🥳
Much appreciated, Don! You been able to do much hunting yet this spring? I know it's probably colder up there still than here and our March has been unusually cold. Just now starting to get some warmer days
@@meandmyshadow6269
Well, if you watched the video I uploaded yesterday you'd know.
😜✌🏻🤷♂️
@@365headhunter3 I'm in trouble! Headed there now, lol!
Our local artifact show is today. Ima heading there now to buy a couple cedar display cases. I might do some filming too. 🤷♂️
@@365headhunter3 Would love to see some clips from the show!
Great find on the gorget! That's about as much of one as I have ever found - I've got four or five broken ones, one is half complete like yours, never have found a whole one!
I bet it would be pretty hard to find a whole one out on a stream where they tumble around so much. Definitely happy to have half though! Cool that you've also found some halves as well!
That gorget was Awsome dude! Keep it up!
Much appreciated, will do!
Congrats on finding a gorget! Broken or not, Awesome!
Thank you! I agree!
Ur wind muffin things r magnifico
Thanks!
Some Very nice finds man & great video as well 🤙definitely would've knocked one off my bucket list ! Best of luck to ya 🍀🤘
Thank you, Two moon! I really appreciate you watching!
I have a friend in Tn. We call Two Dogs 😅 hell of a knapper 😊
I've never found even a piece of a gorget. That's a really cool find!
Thank you! I feel pretty lucky to have spotted it. Seems like people find that sort of thing more often while field walking.
I've got A 100% Perfect One, Nash Co. NC
That's a weird Artifact Aaron 👍😃 but a great find Bro 👍😃
Thank you!
Dang good hunt, brother 💥 !! All cool finds, but the gorget was awesome!! ✌🍀
Thank you buddy!
CONGRATULATIONS Aaron on that find Bro beautiful Artifact my friend 👍😃
Thank you very much Sharon!
Nice finds out there
Thank you, Mandy! Appreciate you watching!
Good day Aaron, that dark point looks like a Grand. Wow! Gorgets are very rare surface finds. It's very well made, hope you find more.
Thank you Leland. My initial thoughts were Gibson, Grand, or Dovetail. I couldn't believe the gorget. I didn't think I'd have much chance at finding something like that very often or at all
Not sure on the material of the gorget. Maybe a highly polished limestone or a slate material
@@meandmyshadow6269 Not hard stone???
@@kevinkline6835 I'm really not sure what it is. It's not the usual material you see in this area. Even slate and limestone isn't as common for our area. Hard stone, in general, is not in abundance here. The lion's share of material out here is sandstone and shale. Most of what you see on the ground in my videos is sandstone and shale with some chert gravel mixed in with it and in much smaller quantities.
@@meandmyshadow6269 No matter what it's very cool. Stuff like that isn't found here at all. Everything here seems to be small. Points and pendants. And I don't know of any Gorget's
Nice find.
Thank you!
Cool finds man. Bottles and points and drilled stuff. It sinks it was broke but it’s still an awesome artifact.
Thank you Semo! Yep, it was a great day for variety!
Great job man , love that pendant piece , awesome. Great looking point … older looks like maybe from the shape of base , could not tell if there was a bevel or basil grinding. Beautiful in any case !!! Hope it is a Dove tail !!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Warren, the pendant really blew my mind. Was not expecting. I think that first point is either a Gibson, Grand, or Dovetail. It has a thinning strike from the tip down that meets half way with another one from the base up. Just on one side. A pretty interesting feature.
Drank many one in the NC tobacco fields around 1960. Grape and Orange.
Gorget is the day maker! Great finds
Cool video
Thank you!
I know this is stupid but I have to give you kudos for your choice of channel name. It's very ingenious and funny considering it describes what we see in most of these videos. Thank you.
Thank you, Jakob! I really like to hear that. A few others have also mentioned they like my channel name. I can't claim to be too clever though, originally I just named it that because I usually do this stuff alone but I didn't realize how well it would work out until other people noticed that my shadow tends to be the most you actually see of me in videos. It was a "happy accident" as Bob Ross would have said. 😀
I enjoy yr channel. New sub.
I really appreciate that, Jan! Thank you very much
Awesome finds especially the pendent 👍👊😎
I'm pretty sure the thi g you called a stick was a broken antler. Awesome finds!
Thank you, Steve! You know, I hadn't considered an antler but it does have that look. It was pretty soft like a soggy stick though so I'm not sure. Usually the bone items out there remain pretty rigid in the water. But it's not out of the possibility! It wouldn't be the first time I've thrown away a good find, haha
Awesome hunt!! How exciting! That gorget is beautiful! Congratulations 🎉Happy hunting.
Thank you!
Wow, great find. I'm always hoping to find something drilled when I'm out searching, fingers crossed.
Awesome finds!!!
Great finds. Good hunting.
Thank you, Michael!
Awesome video, love your channel name
Thank you, Dave! I'm glad you are enjoying. Appreciate you stopping by
@@meandmyshadow6269 my pleasure
Beautiful hardstone artifact Aaron and a awesome point to go with it. I was hoping for the Mastodon skull with 8ft tusk's for ya. Great video as always brother. Congrats and many blessings my friend.
Believe me, I'm ALWAYS looking for those two tusks to be sticking up side by side in the sand every time I'm out there, hahaha! I'd never be able to haul something like that away though. That would just be a good photo-op and then call the archaeologists and ask them if I could document them unearthing it. Thanks as always for watching Kevin! Your loyal viewership is duly noted
@@meandmyshadow6269 Wouldn't that be a cool experience.
@@kevinkline6835 Might make the local news for something like that
@@meandmyshadow6269 For sure. And would be GREAT for your channel. We can only dream.
@@meandmyshadow6269 Today I'm getting some new pain meds and hope to be able to walk some fields soon. Wish me luck brother.
Aaron are you in Oklahoma Bro? Beautiful Scenery 👍😃
That was a big pendant I mean I bet it was super nice and I bet it was kind of coffin shaped it’s still a very nice find maybe you will find the other piece if the Indian shin on you and they like your medicine looks like it’s good I had to re-edited nice point lol well had two do another edit nice little point
I would love to find the other half of it! Probably unlikely because of how much material gets moved around in that river but you never know, nothing is impossible!
That large shard of bone was most likely from an ice age animal.
I think you could be right. Definitely some of that can be found in this area. I've found a mastodon vertebra before
Nice dood!
17:30 I hope you get a chance to look at the research that other citizens have been doing. There’s so much more than tools out there, indigenous Americans were very spiritual people, and many of the tools have images of humans and animals on them.
That's pretty neat! The face that is in the stone in your profile picture is absolutely stunning. What a great find!
Some of the stuff you are finding could be practice pieces my uncle that just passed away was an expert napper
You could very well be right, Linda. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your uncle
Where are you? That gorget can be made into a wearable piece since it's already broken. Then you could show it off.
Not first but I beat kevin. 😲😜
😂
I find it sad that this comment had 3 likes before I made it 4. Old man takes nap and loses face.🤣😛😴
@@kevinkline6835 sometime ya get the bear. Sometimes the bear gets you. 🐻😜
In the history of the world, there have been many rivalries but none so contentious as the battle for first comment between Don and Kevin. Let the account be struck in stone. A thousand generations will re-tell the story.
@@365headhunter3 🤣
Looked like a point not 3 feet from the cork top bottle just to the left
Lol, I noticed that EXACT thing when I was editing. I think it might be a piece of partially buried shale but it definitely has a good shine and shape to it on screen... it's funny because in my last video I also spotted something right next to a bottle I found after I edited the footage. I gotta stop letting bottles distract me. Good eye, Nathan! Thanks for watching!
Looks great! My phone is on max volume and it's not enough . Can you bring your volume up ?
Thanks! I saw your comment and I got on to check all the audio levels and, from what I can tell, everything is set to the standard levels of all my other videos. I checked on desktop and mobile and everything on my end is checking out. I'm sorry you're having trouble with it. I'll keep an eye out and see if anyone else is having problems hearing this video. Thank you for the heads up
@@meandmyshadow6269 I agree that it was a bit muffled but so was the wind 👍great saves Aaron
@@larrydrewett7779 Thanks for the feedback on the sound, Larry! I'll try the wind muffler again a time or two and see if anybody else has trouble with the sound. It might be the muffler that's doing that. Thanks for watching!
That’s so fake, you can see where you drilled it yourself Aaron, just playing, Absolutely Spectacular Find Brother, man I’m jelly lol, congrats again, I’ll watch the rest of the video in the morning, I’m sure it’s full of other fake finds, you Lucky Shit, Have A Blessed Weekend Buddy, GL&HH 🏹
hahahaha! I'm so bad at hunting that if I planted a fake find I'd probably lose it and never find it again for the video, hahaha! Thanks for watching Bucky, always a pleasure to have you!
@@meandmyshadow6269 I lost a Dalton a few years ago at the edge of a cornfield, I stopped to film it and didn’t mark it when I stepped away for a minute, I looked for 30 minutes and even when back months later and looked and still couldn’t find it, I might have stepped on it and pushed it into the ground idk but yeah it really sucks when that happens, awesome finds buddy, Have A Great Weekend 🏹
@@thegeorgiacreekwalker491 OUCH! That one must have hurt to lose! I'm sure you're not the first and you won't be the last.
Killer finds! Are you in Oklahoma?
Thanks and Thank you for watching, Luke!
What size drill bit did they use?
I have one that looks like that and broken like that too pendent is what I call it
Maybe the pieces go together? Lol! Have you ever found a whole one? Did you find yours digging, surface hunting, in a stream, or in a field? I feel like they aren't as common in the water. I see a lot of field walkers find them more often then stream walkers
I found mine in a field and the hole was all the way through
I do a lot of field hunting I have been thinking about streaming hunting
Looks there’s a corner notch in the gorget frame.
Are you talking about the thing directly to the right of the gorget on the other side of that white pebble?
Directly above the gorget. Looks like the base and the right side tang.
@@terryshiver9241 I believe the tang is actually a freshwater invertebrate or larvae similar to a hellgramite or fish fly. Not sure exactly what species but they are pretty common in this area if you look closely enough for them. The larger black piece that looked like a base I believe is shale. In fact, a large majority of all the material you see on the ground in my videos will be shale and sand stone. The shale in particular is very easily mistaken for an artifact at first glance both on video and in-person. I call it the fools gold of artifacts because it constantly fools me into picking it up. You'd be shocked at how much shale I pick up on camera that I have to cut out in the editing process. Thank you for watching!
What state are you in
So quit yappin’ and find something. 😄
Obviously kidding. This is an epic find.
Thank you David! I saw your comment the other day and I thought I responded but I guess I got distracted! I figured you were probably just teasin! (I do A LOT of yappin for real though LOL)
