imagine thinking you're about to eat and suddenly you're pulled up into the sky unable to breathe and a giant creature stars painting your body with ink, covers you with paper, wipes off the ink, then throws you back down. the other fish will never believe them. it's the equivalent of humans saying they were abducted by aliens.
Personally, I love everything related to Japanese culture, and I had no idea that they used this technique to paint ... I love your videos! the quality is amazing. I'll definitely keep watching what you upload
I am really glad to see another video! I felt like I hadn't seen you drop one in a while. I think you are making some great content and I always really enjoy the videos. Keep it up!
I prefer the traditional black and white images with no background. However I did like the idea of flicking ink onto the paper. I imagine this would provide a visual reference to stop the image floating in space.
One Piece chapter 818 introduced fish printing to me for the first time back in 2016. Now that I watched this, I think I've been waiting without knowing for this video to drop ever since.
commenting for engagement, youtube is difficult and i just found your channel stumbling on a subreddit, but your videos are beautiful and i hope you keep it up because your quality is amazing and highly underrated

Good question! Some artists do use edible squid ink in their gyotaku, though rarely. Sumi ink however, made of soot and animal glue, has been first choice since gyotaku began, so in keeping with the traditional method that is what is primarily used.
So simple Imagine if people in the early days like in the year 600 or when ever I know was invented then we would have detailed pictures of animals and such from those times…I wanna try this now Lmfao

I ❤ fish printing
What a skill. Firstly is it best to have fresh or frozen fish,is there any alternative to rice paper? 🇯🇲, lots of fish,no rice paper!
What paper gsm is the best please?
Great editing and wonderful music! Could you credit me on the description as I am one of the artists depicted? I would so appreciate it, thank you!!
Of course!

Why they don't use edible pigment?

@@ROANOKE01 thank you for replying. So, the fish become inedible, or they clean it again?
Most gyotaku artists will wash the fish afterwards, making it perfectly safe to eat.
@@ROANOKE01 thank you
Stupefacente come ogni manifestazione di arte o pensiero giapponese
