If you want a new Honda get a 2024 while you can with the old K20. If not, wait for the long term 3 year reviews from all the New Jerseyans that put 100,000 miles on the vehicle to see if it’s worth it.

Were the K24W from the 9th gen Accord and L15B1 from the 3rd gen Fit also Atkinson?

Do you observe any vtc actuator on the 10th gen accord 2.0t? I have a noise similar to the vtc actuator noise on cold startup only

@BCautosolutions could it be a bad belt tensioner? I replaced the belt and the tensionser with Oem one, but the tech struggled to put the belt

They are excellent! Fun to drive yet economical.
Great combo

Arh. Should I sell my 21 hatchback 1.5T and get BMW X1?😂 or stick with Hybrid 😅 Mine Civic has only 19K miles

Exactly. Only thing left is lower emissions.

Why don't they make hybrids for the Acura products?
🤷🏼♂️
they wanted acura to go full EV, but its safe to say they might be changing their minds about that
@ShaiyanHossain They should change their mind.
The powertrains in the MDX and RLX Hybrid are gems. Imagine if they tweak it more toward fuel efficiency, that would be nice.
Hond's back in the game
✅
This new engine has VTEC like the previous engine?
They took this 2.0l engine from their current hybrid system and make this engine can run itself, according to the family engine parts, you can assume this is a R20 with direct injection(not sure about the VTEC since their new hybrid engine don't have VTEC).
It does not
is the Hybrid direct injection too?
Yep
Yes it is

The hybrid looks promising based on all of the POV drives I've seen but this base Civic would be a hard pass for me. If you're forcing me into a CVT then I'm going with the Corolla. Currently own a K20C2 6MT.
I say keep what you have at this point imo.

Only Honda I considered buying, gone.
😬
I would not buy that Honda Civic with just the 2.0 L Atkinson engine. It will have poor acceleration and when loaded, even worse acceleration. I had the 2008 and 2014 Civic EX and they had poor acceleration and power. I think that Honda is making a big mistake putting such a weak engine in the base 2025 Civic LX. They are forcing you to buy the Hybrid model since the 1.5T is gone. I have 3 Hondas now with 1.5T, 2 Civics and 1 CRV, and they have been trouble-free.
Just remember that it’s recommended to replace the engine oil changes with greater frequency due. In addition, flushing to the engine coolant earlier than what Honda recommends. That helps reduce the possibility of falling victim to those blown head gaskets. I surely miss that 3.0 V6 engine. It was robust and powerful.
All they care about is the epa regulations it seems
@@BCautosolutions During the Obama Administration, those CAFE standards were dramatically changed. The EPA was given much broader powers and authority over the automotive industry. We’re seeing those changes take its toll on the consumers.
@@jamram9924 automakers are just as guilty for compliance. look at all the crossover+truck sales on the road today. The US did the whole fuel economy thing wrong. Other countries do it right with strict size+weight ratings on vehicles or strict taxes.
I mean honda civics have never been fast in a straight line. the hybrid motor is better in the long run for consumers vs 1.5t. and makes more torque.

At this point, Just get the hybrid 🤣👎🏽 That new 2.0 N/A gonna be trash, Direct Injection is a no no 😐
Hybrid is also direct injection. I’m just concerned with the overall lack of acceleration on the base engine.
