Mate, if you like the Atari dash like i do, aim for an 89,,, they got all the goodies but retained the twinkle twinkle dash, after that they changed the dash, before you have make sure of the options... But one thing,,, you will NOT be disappointed with a good one, small HP, BUT big torque and fun to drive.
ALERT! Avoid the LT1 (1991-1996). Don't do what I did and assume that the '96 is the penultimate C4. Choose from '89-'91 and you will thank me later. Optispark is PURE EVIL.
Man I’m so glad I found you my guy. I bought my first car (89’ Corvette Z51) a couple months ago and I’ve been looking to find anyone that could do DIY videos on an 89’ since I’ve been needed a lot of help on mine. Keep up the great work! Love the videos.
Hey Jeff.. just found your channel and I have to say you are doing a great job you are very informative and can keep someones attention. Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing more. Great c4 by the way corvettes are my all time favorite sports car. Mark.
I recently bought a 1990 C4 and the guy that owned it didn't even have wipers for it. First thing I did was to go look for some wipers that fit. Not ONE auto parts store here on Maui had anything that fit. I am currently waiting for the wipers to land here that they orderd....
That goo that's on the rear hatch seal is a lubricant, a lot of people make the mistake of removing it, it's there to allow the hatch seal to slide around due to flex, expansion etc.
I made the mistake of using O'Reily's selection of rainx wipers. They're quality but they have an enormous locking mechanism so it really funked up my hood when I closed it
*I've had issues finding windshield wiper blades for my 1976 Camaro. At this time, I never taken it out in the rain so, I don't care but, Classic Industries sells them if needed.* @camaronado
Hey Jeff, I enjoy the content you share. Thanks. BUT!!!... I've been holding back.... I just have to say it. I can't beleive you installed (past vid) new suspension components WITHOUT cleaning any of the arms or any other part. That was a bit of a let down. Ouf! Glad I got to tell you this. Tkae care and enjoy that beautiful machine.
@@ReynoldsRides Cool I just bought a White convertible 89 with 66,000 it's clean but of course needs a few minor things. But it's running Strong!! The previous owners had some 275 45 17s thats to thin and not wide. Thanks and great videos very helpful.
Mate, good vid,, but can i ask a little more of you ? Can you please show more of the work in detail, and include the prices you pay, and where are you getting your trim parts, Ecklers were very expensive .. keep it coming mate . Eddie Australia.
I made the mistake of throwing out my 1989 Corvette windshield wipers all I needed to do was replace the rubber wipers they were made specifically so that they wouldn't hit the hood
Just out of curiosity, why do your front seat backs not match? Great job with your videos! Keep up the great work! C4's are among my favorite generation of Corvettes!
I just looked on rockauto, it seems like they don't carry these ac delco wipers anymore. Most are listed as either 19'' or 20'', but the wipers on my '87 are only 14''. Weird, or maybe I need new glasses,,,I'll check again...
I just got an 89 c4 grand sport. And my service engine light won’t seem to shut off, and my engine will go weak for about 20 seconds, then go back to normal. Does anyone know what it is because I wanna fix it.
Thanks for the 411 on the wipers. I had to dremel mine so the wouldn't hit the hood. Ordering new ones now.👍
I'm here to drool over the c4 lol. I want one so bad. There's a lot around my area(California). But so much to choose from. So far I'm learning...

El corvette es uno de los carros mas bellos y potentes que ha hecho chevrolet te esta quedando de lujo
Lots of good information in this one!
I bought wiper blades for my 84 Vette from Corvette America. They were AC Delco brand. Low profile just like the original ones.
I love the dark metallic blue. You have a great car.
Fantastic. Thanks.
Good point on the wipers. I noticed the wipers on my ‘87 almost hit the hood so I might change that too.
Thanks for all the awesome videos ! I Definitely needed this help for my c4
Your c4 is awesome, I got me a c4 89 to great Vette
🙏👊
nice Job one the hatch...
If you lock the doors and then shut the rear hatch you will set off the alarm, at least that is what happens on my 89.
Even the wipers are special. LOL.

Great video man, have a c4 vette 1987 myself, love vettes😎👍🏾🔥💯
WRAP YOUR ASS
IN FIBERGLASS !😉😉😉
Can you tell me the reference of those wipers? The ones on my corvette hit the hood
Forget it... it's in the video lol
Jeff why didn't you install the the drain kit so the water doesn't build up in the corner of the hatch
I didn’t know there was one. I’ll have to check it out 🙏.
My bosch blades were hitting the hood when I bought the C4. Easy fix..... Just buy some wipers from the dealer
Plastics have their pros and cons.
Agreed.

I need to replace the rear window air shocks also. Bo you have a part number?
RockAuto: 901016, 901764.
@@ReynoldsRides Thank you!
Hey your videos have saved me lots of time...1 ?...where does to second heater core line goes when rerouting the hose that run to the intake.

What's the best fuel for a c4?
The higher the octane, the better in my opinion.
@@ReynoldsRides thank you , do you always use premium in your vette?
Yes!

Maybe try stopping by Autozone and have them pull the code(s). That might give you a starting point.
I got it fixed up but now my hood won’t open for anything. Think we could get a video on that?
I'm sorry but what in the world is an '89 Grand Sport? The only C4 Grand Sports I have heard of are the 1996-only model.
Brian Weir yeah, there is no ‘89 Grand Sport.
