Thanks to your video I picked this up last week on vacation with my wife in Japan, and got her a ladies quartz snowflake (i think 28 or 30mm). What a watch!! Im impressed!
There quartz 9F movements are really impressive 👍🏻
That is absolutely stunning, the dial alone is worth it. Love how crisp the finishing is and then the case finish too just to top it off. Juts wow.
I think this offers better value to the its bigger brother the snowflake and is the one I'd go for
Now THAT is a watch ! I Great video once again. The details of that dial and handset/ indecies are stunning.
Thanks Mark the dial and hands are just stunning but they really have to up there game when it comes the bracelet and clasp
Oufffff that second hang glide is soo smooth
It is mesmerising Clips
Great review, tried it on I boutique in London, and I'm going to buy myself that same model..just saving up 👍
Thanks David glad you liked it and good luck 👍🏻
Just ordered this over the snowflake, I wanted the stainless steel and prefer the look of it. The Sbga469 had me very tempted, it may be something for a future purchase.
I completely understand your reasoning on this Greg nice one 👍🏻
@@ClickSpringReview your camera work sealed the deal. There’s only a handful of easy to find videos on this watch. Yours is by far the best for displaying what that dial is capable of, subscribed
Cheers Greg means a lot Sir 👍🏻
Just purchased the 467. Waiting for delivery. Has the inky black dial and I consider it a solid alternative to the Explorer. Really perfect
I’m sure your going to love it, they are great watches
Very nice, oh for some decent lume! 👍
Just any lume would be nice Alan
Great video as usual, Amazing watch but I do believe that Minase has them beat on finishing
Cheers Steve , The Minase is something very special and different
Ummm no
This watch has 2 things only seiko/gs has. Spring drive & Zaratsu polishing. And both are clearly visible, incomparable and enjoyable to the naked eyes so it's money well spent for feeling good yourself or showing off. But it does scratch easily and i believe you can only send it back to Grand Seiko for repolishing that zaratsu mirror finish.
The Zaratsu polishing is great but I'd say its no better than what you see on other high end brands as they to have a prefect mirror finish . Where they do excel is the hands and dial but I do like a bit of lume on a watch so this always puts me of a lot of the GS models
@@ClickSpringReview Without sounding like a Seikopath/fanboy, I think best way to truly appreciate Zaratsu vs. any high ends is on more chiseled and less brushed cases (such as King Seiko SJE083). I am sure F&G got one to blow your socks off (but undone by an unremarkable 6L movement). Totally agree on lack of lume on Seiko dress watches. In fact lack of lume and easy scratching were what got me off Seiko path, and got me to looking at Sinn's (and discovered you channel).
@@1millionstartups I bought an SJE083 King Seiko and sent it back for a refund as there was a prominent raised lump on the top of one of the lugs which was a manufacturing defect and had a slightly cracked appearance under magnification. You could see the lump with your eye and feel it with your finger nail, it was impossible not to see it and it should have been ground off. Also overall, the quality was lower than GS with small scratches here and there and a dial misprint as well as having hands and indices that didn't have the GS perfectly flat finish (they were rougher) . It was a fully stickered unworn new watch from a AD and a huge disappointment. I think Seiko are self-sabotaging at the moment with their quality control.
Based on my experience, the new KS doesn't show off Seiko's best quality - it falls short of GS and the marketing hype, as well being the subjuct of many a lazy reviewer who just focus on getting the content out, reading what the manufacturer has claimed and not examining the watch closely enough to see if it's true.
You are right though, that to show off the polishing technique, the watch case needs to have more flat areas or at least have plains that are flat in one direction whilst curved in another, as when it's all compound curves there isn't much to separate it from another watch.
@@1millionstartups I do like Seiko but I also see their falls as they do have some great models but many are let down by the silly things like miss matching end links or bracelets or lack of lume
I’ll ask Ryan if he can get holes of the KS for me to review Sir 👍🏻
Getting into Sinn can be a slippery slope as one is never enough 😏
@@ClickSpringReview The faults that were probably unique to the KS I sent back, were the lump / bur on the lug and some black dots on the diail printing, one was partially filling in a letter on the print and the other just out on it's own.
All of the other quality differences were harder to spot, but examining it closely with a jeweller's loop and it became clear it hadn't been made with the care and attention that goes into GS, both with the quality of the components and care during assembly - it simply isn't a GS quality watch with a movement downgrade, but rather a lower quality watch overall and, at an odd price ponit. For my money, even if I got one without the two main faults I've mentioned, I believe it's a better option to pay the extra and get an entry level GS instead.
Fantastic review
Thank you Sir nice of you say
Cheers Sir 👍🏻
Beautiful!
It is a pretty one NP
Unless this bracelet is different from the brushed 3-link they use on the SBGA283, SBGN005, etc., this should have screwed links and not pin+collars. Just something to double-check. Edit to add: I believe you can actually see the screw heads at 6:11 if you look at the bottom half of the bracelet.
I will do sir cheers for the heads up 👍🏻
Pin and collar usually have arrows inside of the bracelet to indicate which direction to work with and I couldn't se any so presumably it use screws.
@@soilomasbello1156 Its true and I think your right Sir
my only complaint is that the spring driver power meter is printed, wish it was recessed like on some other models
I'm of the other way round I really don't like when they recessed it on the dial , I prefer the print on this far more than say the snowflake model were it ruins the dials .
I'd like to se it on the back of the watch personally Gaurav
@@ClickSpringReview well to each their own!
Can't get over the power reserve indicator.
Yeah its not the best
Agreed. Not a fan of it. However, it’s much nicer in terms of fit and finish and movement ( spring drive) than any watch out there. Patek, AP, Rolex or Omega can’t touch that movement.
Is it easy to tell the time at a glance?
Yep thats true
I got the SBGA283 with the champagne dial. Spring drive is a truly unique movement.
I used to have a spring drive chrono movement myself but this was 11 years ago and used to love watching the second hand guild around the minute track
Like this better than the sbga211.👍👍👍
The power reserve doesn't mess up the dial like on the snowflake, but I still think does an automatic really need a power reserve meter ?
@@ClickSpringReview I like to se how much power left, but that is me 🙂
If they placed it on the back it would clean the dial up. An automatic if its on your wrist is always at full power Sir
@@ClickSpringReview I think what he means is if, say, you took the watch off while you slept and put it back on again, how much reserve would be left? Or to know there is close to full charge, which would probably ensure better performance than if it was near empty? Please try to consider where your viewers are coming from a bit more next time.
@@gmshadowtraders The watch has 3 days of power so most power sleep for around 6/8 hours you should be ok , This being a spring drive model the power curve is very linear and so its performance doesn't really change as the main spring unwinds👍🏻
Is the winding sound abnormally loud? I just purchased the black dial version and winding sound is louder than my prospex seikos, tudor bb58, and omega smp300.
Yeah as I remember it is loud on the SD models , I like the ETA 2892 its almost silent
I have never seen a hiccup in a Spring Drive. Check at 1:03 at position 31sec., the seconds hand very briefly stops for a minuscule time. It must be some time correction (or braking) of the movement.
Your right I didn’t spot that before Cesar 🤔
Watched several times and can't see that. Seems doubtful that it would happen just at the point of filming. I think it was just a glitch in the video.
Ouh! GS review now
Lovely timepiece
I may do some more GS if you like O B 👍🏻
Do you have any idea does Sinn do any custom dials for their pieces?
I wear an Aristo Sextant with a custom unbranded dial and really gotten too fond of it to consider getting a dial with another design... but I am very interested in getting the Sinn 556i with the same dial design.
Should I contact Sinn about out or find some other company to do the dial? If latter do you have any recommendations?
I know it might be an odd request but been a long time follower of your channel and this channel got me very interested on the 556i :^)
Thank you so much in advance if you choose to answer (or even see the rather long and odd comment 😅)
Hi Pyry
I always try and answer the questions but sometimes I do miss one, its getting harder as everyday there are more and more as the channel grows
As to the custom dial I don't think they will ,they have been known to swap hands around from other models before .
There is no harm in emailing them and asking or even calling
The 556 is great watch it just feels so comfortable and you forget its there but still looks cool :)
Let me know how you get on
@@ClickSpringReview What I ended up doing was get a Seiko 809 with the white hands and dial of the Sinn 556a and later on get the dial of the Aristo Sextant for it lol, the location of the crown in Seiko 809 was the deciding factor and that this wont be my main watch but the backup.
@@pyry1948 That sounds interesting 👍🏻
I'd kill for anything in their entry level range with lume that is a SD. At this rate, the only GS option I have is a SBGA349 / 347, which is JDM only and I can't find an AD, so no warranty - sketch with int shipping. Only need one watch and I wish it could be a spring drive I can use 24/7, from the city, to the mountain, to the boat (which many times is after dark).
I'm with you there Sir GS have forgotten just how important lume is on a watch , A true dress watch ok but these are not that
I bought one.
How you finding it ?
@@ClickSpringReview I should have it by Wednesday or Thursday this week.
Excellent and good choice Andy
Me too
Am selling a Cartier santos to fund this and the black dial sbga467.
Nice I'm sure it will sell and you will love the GS
why do people call this entry level? is it the pricing?
Because its the lowest priced Spring Drive model available new ,thats way I called it the entry level model 👍🏻
Yep its the cheapest in the range which makes it the entry model
Model number? Price? Something?
I'm guessing you didn't check the description 😉
Compare it with Rolex Perpetual Oyster!
Rolex has nothing to say. Unless a name and logo.
I do really like this model, its a really good watch , but I still prefer Rolex sport models over it as the bracelet doesn't stack up to a Rolex in anyway and there isn't any lume on the dial , plus I do like a real mechanical watch at this price point. I've reviewed a few GS and the last one I could see a mark on one of the hands all bit it only just, but it was there as I later checked under my microscope Arshi
@@ClickSpringReview Of course sport Rolex is different. I compare this watch with Oyster Perpetual or Omega AT.
In gray market OP is almost double of this GS and doesn’t have any Rolex character like mercedes hands. I think main interesting thing in GS is spring drive movement, and texture on dial.
I'm lucky and have an OP39 Red Grape, I got it used B&P 11 months old for 3k back 2019 its a lovely watch the movement is a joy to work on , I did also have a Spring Drive chrono many years back, Watching the second go round the dial was a dream , Unfortunately the auto wind mechanism failed and the repair bill was around 700 , so I always have that in the back of my mind
Ps are you an Archer ?
Apart from the movement, the case finishing plus the best bracelet of any watch , A movement which any good watchmaker can service for you and not forgetting lume also ps are you into archery I'm a bit of a fan myself
