The ulterior motive of the resolution is to bolster the Republican goal of privatizing social security and Medicare. She isn't going to be sucked into voting on a silly 1940s McCarthy style resolution that is aimed at bolstering that goal. The Republican party has ALWAYS opposed social security and Medicare, calling it socialism/ communism. Maxine Waters isn't going to play along. She's calling it what it is. That's what this whole back and forth is about.
She doesn't have to, because Democrats aren't celebrating and supporting the people that committed those acts. Trump and the rest of the Republican party who gleefully thought they were going to retaliate when they too control of the house ARE. Stalin was Russian. Putin is Russian. Trump loves Russia, the Republicans love Russia and are attacking the Democrats over Ukraine. That means the REPUBLICANS love the genocide committed by Stalin, because they support the side that committed those atrocities. Pol Pot has nothing to do with anything. He's not Korean, he's not Chinese. He was Cambodian. But Trump loves KIm Jong Un. Trump loves Xe Ping because he made himself effectively a 'dictator'. I'm going to tell you something. Communism isn't the problem. Fascism is the problem. Socialism is not the problem. Fascism is the problem. What is the ONE THING all of those people have in common? Actually some of us do walk away.
