To my understanding the magic eraser is actually a very fine sandpaper so it's not actually breaking down the paint but sanding it down.
I will absolutely do this trick if i have another one of him. For now, i wouldn't risk it. Even getting one original figure of this guy is quite a challenge. On the online markets, many people are selling this particular figure twice or thrice its original price!
I would never try to do this on mine since I only have the one and they are sold out everywhere
I was dissapointed by this figure. The animated 90s spider-man is huge and bulky and this guy is scrawny. The cel shading is also bad so I just kept him on card. No need to open him for me
That said, your removal made it look a whole lot better! Excellent work as always
Tbf the card alone makes me unreasonably giddy
You nailed it 100%! I'll do that too! Thanks for the Inspiration.
That’s a amazing job you did
I would love to see one of the VHS Jean
Hope you can find something about that one
Don’t have her, I reckon this tech would work on her though although easier cause she has nothing like web lines.
The previous retro spider-man animated series figure was fairly accurate to the toyline design and colour wise but needed this headsculpt. If accurate to the show the red needed to have more of a pinkish tone and the blue just a hint of purple. That said I think this is the red and blue the show was going for. That said the new one looks better overall build wise.
Do the vhs symbiote spider-man
Awesome video! I mean you no disrespect, but I rarely see you sand. Why not just sand down some of that parts and just apply some paint to place that can be touched up?
No disrespect to ask at all! I usually sand when I have to repaint things more fully, like I used a Maria Hill body for an upcoming figure video and I pretty much sanded her entire body to make the paint stick better. For Spidey here I didn't sand because it was basically just small touch ups and I didn't really want to scuff the surface more than I had to. The sealer also helps to keep the paint in check as well!
@@VADtoys oh, I see. Thanks for the reply
Why not buy the non cell shaded version?
Because this video is over a year old and the non cell shaded version of TAS Spidey wasn't released yet?
Love this spider man
I love Spider-Man TAS so much so this was a bit of a grail to me
