It's weird because I feel like the bootleg is more improved somehow but the web lines are just off it feels exactly like the original and moves like the original but something looks better
There's also three details I noticed that can help you differentiate the bootleg from the original while in the package: 1.- The spider logo has a different shape. It's a bit thinner than the original. 2.- The gap in the ab crunch is wider on the bootleg. 3.- The web lines that separate the blue from the red around the pecs are thicker when closer to the shoulders and thinner when closer to the body on the original. The bootleg lines have the same thickness.
1. That one is really hard to tell, they really look similar! 2. The difference in gap is really minimal and hard to tell especially when figure is in packaging. 3. Ah don't know why I didn't spot this! Maybe because I wasn't too engrossed in checking the weblines because even on original figures the weblines are really inconsistent in their qc.. but the lines you mentioned were obvious enough to spot from inside the packaging 👍🏽

I got the original retro Spider-Man years ago for standard price online. Recently there are a lot of bootlegs of this guy popping up and that makes me paranoid that my figure may be a fake but then again, I did get my figure years before these bootlegs was made.
As much as I hate bootlegs, and sellers who try to pass off bootlegs as legit items, and now having to worry about getting swindled with a bootleg when you’re trying to buy a legit version of a figure, the fault lies with Hasbro. They should’ve known Spider-Man of all characters would be the most demanded figure and they should’ve made more of this guy. Solids cases like they did for X-Men Beast. But they didn’t. And now sellers are asking $150-$200 for the legit figure and thus, an affordable $20 bootleg was inevitable. At least its a quality bootleg and not trash.

One thing I noticed almost since the first, are the lines in the shoulders, they don't fit well between red and blue in the bootleg, in the original has also a little of that too, but more quiet. I just bought the bootleg a few days ago, I still don't open it, but I want to haha, maybe today or tomorrow for Christmas 😁 . Nice video, salutes from Mexico.
Here's the thing folks. These figures are manufactured in China, and when they go through the final production phase some of these figures have defects such as damaged packaging or maybe the paint didn't align on the figure correctly. Therefore, they throw these figures into the dump instead of selling them. So, third party sellers will pay the manufacturing companies a small sum of money for the busted spiderman figures and then resell the defects to you instead of allowing a perfectly good figure with damaged packaging to rot in a dump. The only thing I would say to be aware of is the misprinted paint, because I received one in that condition and his face looked off set by more than a little, but they did send me another one and it looks really good just damaged packaging which isn't a huge deal considering I removed it from packaging to display.
Yeah it's definitely a fake figure, but it looks really great wow! I bought a retro green goblin a few months ago and it looks great as hell too, i can't tell it's a fake one or an original. They said it's an original but the joints are so loose on the figure compared to my original ones that i doubt that. So, i don't know. You have a great English level by the way.

Yeah if you just put them side by side, they are almost indistinguishable. All these differences I shared I really had to check every corner of the figure lol

Update: so the figure came in 2 weeks ago and I have to say, it's awesome if it's a k.o. it's the most hard to tell k.o. in marvel legends k.o. history. It's truly Worth the now $30 bucks you will pay. (mines was 50$) Take advantage now before they are gone guys and gals.
I have the official one from 2020 but the paint rubbed off like crazy and I found another one for $40 from a seller but I'm really having a hard time trying to figure out if it's bootleg until I get it, but honestly, I feel like It wouldn't matter considering how nearly identical in quality the bootleg is to the og, guess I'll compare both my retro Spidey's soon

I bought a pizza spidey on ebay a while back. They didn't even try with the packaging, the figure came loose in a ziplock back stuffed with bubble wrap. The ab crunch is way too loose, when I tried to switch the head I took off the whole neck joint, and the shoulders and hips are weird. The black lines are painted very well tho. it was overpriced at $35 but if it were like $20 I wouldn't mind it.
The bootleg spidey isn't too bad. I have plenty, and none of them had the whole neck joint coming off when swapping heads with the half mask head. Maybe you're just unlucky for you piece. But yeah $35 for it is steep for the bootleg pizza spidey
I bought an aliexpress one, that arrived yesterday. The card is the same exact thickness as the symbiote spiderman, that I got from Target. Same shade of grey or off white on the side too. I need to check the font on the number, not sure at the moment what it looks like.
Would you be able to tell us which particular Aliexpress seller you went with? I have several saved and definitely want to end up with one like your KO as some appear to have messed up web lines on the forearms in particular as shown by customers.

Wow, either one would do. The cheaper 1 of course. It's like bootleg/KO of masterpiece Transformers. Some Or most of masterpiece are even better Is what I found

The ko I got from aliexpress came out much worse than the one in video. First, the weblines are thinner and the front spider isn't fully painted which is ok I guess. But what makes it terrible is the upper body is splitting at the seams and the torso is extremely loose. When trying to swap the head, the whole peg holding the head popped out. It's like I got a ko of a ko. Someone mentioned that a poorer quality version is being made with the peg hole on the card being located somewhere else, but the peg hole on my card is located the same spot as the one shown in video.
The one I got is the 40-ish USD.. There's a more recent retro bootleg which cost around 20-ish USD, about the same price as the bootleg Ben and Symbiote. So I'd say the more expensive one is likely to be the same one as I got. I doubt they would pass off this newer cheaper (and apparently quality not as good) retro bootleg as the 40usd version, so if you see the ones at the 40usd price range, it should be the same as this bootleg that I got.

To me, it's definitely bootleg. Factory reject would mean they are exactly the same as original, but with some flaws. If you've seen my Cyborg Spidey, Retro Peter Parker, Phage or Negative Zone Spidey reviews, I'd say those would be factory rejects. This one just have too many differences.

Hi there guys , there is a thing I think you guys might need know , specially if you wondering purchase one bootleg . As what I know there is two different factories both are making this series , yeah Ben Riley and symbiote spiderman are got bootleg too, Two factories two quality , A is "stable" B is not so. So... Just be careful , for now at least the way to distinguish between A and B is through the position of hanging card's peg hole , A is much more close to the original B is way too forward to left.
Really? Didnt know there's 2 different version of the bootleg. Unfortunately most listing don't show actually picture, they show Hasbro's pics, so might be difficult to know which one is it. The one I got is good quality bootleg.
When you overcharge for mass-produced products -- you'll see bootlegs. As with most manufacturing, these come from China, where some of the build prints are easy to get. If these figures sold between $15 and $20, there would be no reason to illegally tap this market. However, you have people that are willing to pay absurd prices for Hasbro toys, so here we are. Some of Hasbro's offerings have major design issues, so it's a no-brainer for copycats.

I wonder if these type of infringements are "intentional". Obviously, people will take pride in owning a genuine Hasbro product but, their QC still needs to get better.
The retro venom isn't $20. It's super expensive. Look at the listing carefully, when you click on it, there will be option for a few figures in it, the $20 one would be other figures, then the retro venom is gonna be like 80-90 dollars lol. If you really saw a retro venom that cost $20, send me the link, I'd definitely check it out

But when I click on it, there are actually 3 figures on sale, a Ben reilly spidey,symbiote spidey and the retro venom. The Ben and symbiote are the ones that cost about $20, and the retro venom is like 80-90 dollars.
and mine i mistly buy original if i cant find the figure i want asa of and if i found one fig that my fav and its ko and if the og is expensive than the ko cecen tho its the same fig with chages of mold
For this one is ok. But this bootleg is more expensive, if you got the cheaper bootleg you can feel the difference in plastic quality when you have the figure in hand. I did a comparison in another video with the cheaper bootleg, you can check it out

This was when it first came out, I'd consider this version 1 of the Retro spidey bootleg, and it was expensive (ard 40usd ish) there is a cheaper bootleg at aliexpress now ard 20usd or slightly less, but I'm not sure of the quality (I bought it but haven't open to review yet)

Sure, but there's absolutely zero they can do to a seller in China. In fact I imagine the Chinese government is completely okay with it and wouldn't assist Hasbro in any way.

Well, it's not that. For people who just want figures and wanna play with them, this isn't actually that bad! I've even knowingly bought bootlegs before. But it's a nightmare for collectors. They want the original for a reason.
I do these comparison so other collectors would be able to know what they pay for, especially when buying from the secondary market.. wouldn't wanna overpay for a bootleg!

Not all are original. I'm sure plenty of people would disagree with you as well saying that ALL figures from Aliexpress is original. Some are, but definitely not all.

With the original being sold by scalpers for as much as 150$ i think there really is no contest here. Just lean into the bootleg.

Also the yellow dots on the original are different to the fake ones, all fake ones have the wrong yellow dots rearranged wrongfully

It's good that I have authentic retro Spider-Man at my place, because it's just rare and expensive.

The ko I got from aliexpress came out much worse than the one in video. First, the weblines are thinner and the front spider isn't fully painted which is ok I guess. But what makes it terrible is the upper body is splitting at the seams and the torso is extremely loose. When trying to swap the head, the whole peg holding the head popped out. It's like I got a ko of a ko. Someone mentioned that a poorer quality version is being made with the peg hole on the card being located somewhere else, but the peg hole on my card is located the same spot as the one shown in video.
It's the price, recently there is a cheaper mosc ko which costs around 20usd.. mine was ard 40usd. Did you get that cheaper one?

The one I got is the 40-ish USD.. There's a more recent retro bootleg which cost around 20-ish USD, about the same price as the bootleg Ben and Symbiote. So I'd say the more expensive one is likely to be the same one as I got. I doubt they would pass off this newer cheaper (and apparently quality not as good) retro bootleg as the 40usd version, so if you see the ones at the 40usd price range, it should be the same as this bootleg that I got.

what does the material in bootleg spidey feel like? does it feel heavy? cheap? brittle?
It feels the same as one of the newer toy biz spiderman toys but not as easy to break
The plastic feels the same as the original
When the bootleg is actually a better paint job and sculpt than the actual hasboro figure.🤦♂️

From what I’ve heard from some they’re bootlegs, while others say they’re factory rejects. What would you say in your opinion?
To me, it's definitely bootleg. Factory reject would mean they are exactly the same as original, but with some flaws. If you've seen my Cyborg Spidey, Retro Peter Parker, Phage or Negative Zone Spidey reviews, I'd say those would be factory rejects. This one just have too many differences.

If these are factory rejects then Hasbro does a horrible job of sorting them for all the issues that happen with the ones that pass.
Hi there guys , there is a thing I think you guys might need know , specially if you wondering purchase one bootleg . As what I know there is two different factories both are making this series , yeah Ben Riley and symbiote spiderman are got bootleg too, Two factories two quality , A is "stable" B is not so.
So... Just be careful , for now at least the way to distinguish between A and B is through the position of hanging card's peg hole , A is much more close to the original B is way too forward to left.
Really? Didnt know there's 2 different version of the bootleg. Unfortunately most listing don't show actually picture, they show Hasbro's pics, so might be difficult to know which one is it. The one I got is good quality bootleg.

When you overcharge for mass-produced products -- you'll see bootlegs. As with most manufacturing, these come from China, where some of the build prints are easy to get. If these figures sold between $15 and $20, there would be no reason to illegally tap this market. However, you have people that are willing to pay absurd prices for Hasbro toys, so here we are. Some of Hasbro's offerings have major design issues, so it's a no-brainer for copycats.
But these bootlegs are really random in quality. Some are good like this one, some are bad
@@Stillfigurineout I agree that the quality is terrible. The people making the bootlegs aren't going to QC something that's designed for easy money. I wonder if these type of infringements are "intentional". Obviously, people will take pride in owning a genuine Hasbro product but, their QC still needs to get better.
For $20 over $100 none of these issues are things that can't be fixed or repainted.

The retro venom isn't $20. It's super expensive. Look at the listing carefully, when you click on it, there will be option for a few figures in it, the $20 one would be other figures, then the retro venom is gonna be like 80-90 dollars lol. If you really saw a retro venom that cost $20, send me the link, I'd definitely check it out

@@goodlandschugs9670 no, in that same listing, there will be other figures together with the retro venom. For example is saw a listing with a retro venom picture which lists around $20. But when I click on it, there are actually 3 figures on sale, a Ben reilly spidey,symbiote spidey and the retro venom. The Ben and symbiote are the ones that cost about $20, and the retro venom is like 80-90 dollars.

For this one is ok. But this bootleg is more expensive, if you got the cheaper bootleg you can feel the difference in plastic quality when you have the figure in hand. I did a comparison in another video with the cheaper bootleg, you can check it out

This was when it first came out, I'd consider this version 1 of the Retro spidey bootleg, and it was expensive (ard 40usd ish) there is a cheaper bootleg at aliexpress now ard 20usd or slightly less, but I'm not sure of the quality (I bought it but haven't open to review yet)

Sure, but there's absolutely zero they can do to a seller in China. In fact I imagine the Chinese government is completely okay with it and wouldn't assist Hasbro in any way.

Well, it's not that. For people who just want figures and wanna play with them, this isn't actually that bad! I've even knowingly bought bootlegs before. But it's a nightmare for collectors. They want the original for a reason.

There isn't for now. There are retro venom on aliexpress, but it's super expensive and I assume they are original, that's why they're super costly.

There's something wrong with the webs on the lower part of his chest. The shape is incorrect.
The lower is fine. The top is too wide at the very end where they meet.

Not all are original. I'm sure plenty of people would disagree with you as well saying that ALL figures from Aliexpress is original. Some are, but definitely not all.

@@busybee4504 nope, this bootleg retro spidey is still ard 40+ usd.. there is another one which I just saw, loose complete and around 20usd like the bootleg Ben and symbiote spidey, but I saw that the knee joint were red instead of blue, so im guessing that one is of a different quality than this more expensive moc bootleg retro spidey that I got.
