If the SHTF, my current plan is to keep quiet, keep covers over the windows so that lighting doesn't show. I live in a senior age condo, so maybe some of the others and I can get together. But until then I'm not telling anybody what I'm storing, no even my sister.

Maybe store register stops working, your cell/mobile service starts to drop. You won't know for hours even days, the first hint will be the drop in TV service- all the main channels down. A few days later the food and gas run out. I think it'll be a full week before shtf. I believe in the event of a major collapse that included the loss of power, water, fuel and food, we would see an attempt made by FEMA regional managers to take over control from the state, county and local government. The country is already broken up into 10 regions and each has an assigned manager in place. How successful it would be is somewhat doubtful as I'm sure they would be overwhelmed and I wouldn't suggest that anyone rely on them for their sustenance nor well being. I try to do a little prepping of some sort every day and over time it really adds up. Whether it's buying a little extra food each time you shop, storing some extra water, working on your vegetable garden or something as simple as starting a compost pile. It all adds up and will come in handy if you ever need it. Thanks JR for another great video, I've really come to look forward to them.

She and I drove to Mass from NH because our son's complex had power. A hot meal, a hot shower, her term paper on that first night and the next day our power at home was back on. We have a wood stove so our home was warm and my husband kept an eye on things. We put all our food in huge cooler son the back deck and lost very little but further up north, those folks had no power until just after Chrismas. You are right. People started freaking out over the inconvenience of having no power and not knowing how to live without it. We are in for a world of hurt!

One ADDITION to think about is 'sewer back-up" . I have Cherne plugs or pipe plugs to stop the sewer from backing up into your home. People should have plugs from #1. main sewer drain, #2. Showers, #3. Toilets, #4 tubs and overflow, #5 Toilets. This should cover backup. If people have a little money, think about doubling this for an unfortunate neighbor. Thank you again. However trust me if it did spill over you'd already know as apart from Belarus (a Russian ally) and obviously Russia itself, it's bordered by NATO countries, so we'd already be at war if it spilled over into one of those. But Putin isn't going to do that obviously. As to where we're headed, I've been prepped for grid down for years now. Prepper channels in the UK have warned of this but it didn't happen this past winter. In Germany & Austria the msm warned of the possibility and for years now their govts have advised people to prep for a few days without food and power etc. Back to asking where things are headed, I've heard it said by white Africans (can't remember if it was SA or ZIm) that the first sign of decline is potholes in the roads and there are plenty here in London. When I lived in SA 20 years ago there were power outages during storms. Now their infrastructure is so overstretched they have something called ''load shedding'' which is rolling power blackouts, so every day the electricity goes off for 6 hours at different times depending upon the region. That's where I'd say we're headed rather than a sudden blackout lasting days, the authorities know that that would result in large scale rioting and looting.

I started prepping a few years ago nothing on the large scale just 3-6 months worth of food and medicine water and then I watch videos like this and over time I realize I don’t think I would want to survive this kind of ordeal on a long term for some bullets and once the 3-6 months runs out I’m taking myself out. Growing stuff is not an option for me and I’m not going to survive a total collapse past 6 months either way….neither will over fifty percent of society. If not more….so not to sound like a Abby downer but realistically it will be over for most of us so live everyday like it’s your last hug your family and enjoy what you can now because tomorrow is not promised to anyone

I'm still watching this but I just had a couple quick critiques one of which was based on another prepping channels analysis of communications networks that would remain after a grid down situation. That would be the fact that this individual and myself think that a lot of ham radio repeaters would not remain up for that long because they're going to require power generation and you have to be certain that these repeaters are run privately are all going to have long-standing power generation to be able to keep these repeaters up and running. My second critique was the mention of raising small game animals for meat and the mention of rabbits and chickens came up. I just wanted to mention the rabbit protein issue because this is something that I've known about for a while and it's actually something was known about during the days of the settlers and that would be that you cannot really survive long-term on rabbit meat because rabbit meat is not bioavailable as a protein source to humans that well meaning for every amount let's say a pound of rabbit meat that you consume you're only going to be able to absorb a very small percentage of that as actual protein because it's just not amenable to human biology versus other carnivores like dogs or cats. This is something that used to be called rabbit fever where people that were trying to subsist on rabbit need a loan would eventually succumb to protein deficiency and start to have some very severe health problems including confusion and some cognitive issues as well as other problems with the body like your body being forced to engage in glycation which is taking protein to turn it into sugar there by robbing your body's protein and muscle mass of valuable connective tissue.

If you want to see how a total collapse looks now in present day you could find any info on Mogadishu Somalia. I was deployed there in 92-93 it isn't pretty. The city was run by a warlord. Neighborhoods by sub appointees and people did not cross into the others. They used to be more modern and I believe to this day they are still in a 3rd world status, 30 years later. It could be quite a long haul.

Food for thought ! I learnt a few things I didn’t know! Good advice! I believe 2024 is going to every much increase the probability of a near or total collapse of our infrastructure! Now is the time to prepare . The old saying is so apropos,” better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!”. Now , I’m sure most of you that I’m sending this are doing just that ,preparing ! , but I think a few are thinking , “ Na! Not going to happen !” Well , hopefully your right ! But things are looking like the world economy is headed to a total collapse, we’ve seen how here in the US things got with the election in 2020 and the plandemic , it put many crazies at work destroying communities! So think about this if you haven’t ! Get ready!

Some counties in Texas are already corrupt so a collapse would just make things much worse. I was in jail after I broke up with my ex-boyfriend and tried to leave the property that he and his friends were holding me hostage at and I was arrested for just holding a knife to deter the people who were abusing me and were trying to kill me and I got arrested and none of them did. They only have statements from the three of the people who were abusing me and holding me against my will and that's it but I'm still going to be sentenced to 5 years of prison with a first degree felony conviction against me unless by some miracle something else happens. My attorney kept trying to get the sentence reduced since they have absolutely no evidence to convict me and the DA won't allow me to have a trial, which is completely against federal law and is unconstitutional. Yet when the UNITED STATES District Attorney looked into the corruption of the county, they stepped back and said "Nope, no way. I'm not dealing with this." Which just shows how corrupt the legal system is in the entire country. I have been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Median Acruate Ligament Syndrome (which I have to have surgery for), several TBIs, binocular vision syndrome, an inner ear disorder, and PTSD from the physical injuries that I sustained from my ex and his friends who accused me of a crime that never happened after I decided to break up with my ex-boyfriend and leave the property. I have a lot of medical issues because of them yet the county refuses to press charges against them even though I have documentation from my doctors on when the trauma started, what the diagnosis's are, and how I'm unable to work, walk for more than 5 minutes, and stand for more than 15 minutes before my autonomic nervous system starts to shut down and before my brain starts to flood (become overstimulated) to the point that I lose consciousness and can die.

If were talking massive long term power loss, we'll have a bigger problem.
Many toxic chemicals are überrefrigerated as a gas. As the back up generators run dry, the refrigeration stops. As the gasses warm , they expand and are released by pressure valves to protect the tanks from rupturing. Think about millions of tanks venting chemicals like phosgene & chlorine at the same time. Wouldnt want to be downwind of those clouds.
The same for the spent fuel rod cooling pools at nuclear power plants. The water in these pools is refrigerated and circulated. Again, when the back up generators run dry, it stops. The water begins heating up. Eventually, it will boil off. Once the spent fuel rods are exposed they can burn releasing terribly radioactive smoke. Image hundreds of Chernobyl 's.
