The song that everybody, including the audience was singing, is a decades old song that was indeed mostly sung by scouts as far as I know. Entire generations still know it.

we didn't sing that song... we blared it out. one much more out of tune than the other. and we tried to sing it in cannon which often failed and made us sound even more out of tune 😂

There is so much to find from him, as a much older man now still so respected and funny but also serious by his songs. One of our great artist bringing us so much uncomplicated joy and laughter! He is a master in making people feel happy!

Hcx you got alot of dutch members so you know, andre hat al decoraties that a men can get, all geven by queen Beatrix, King Alex, and from all his collega's, they all adore him,i saw him a few times in the day, when we where working in the grand concertbuilding, renovaties, he came to tell so many jokes, this men just trots them out and always the most funny ones, he is still Alive but dos not performance any more do his age, what you also can look for is ivo niche with mr wijdbeens , you laugh your pants off, and he is a wonderfull human , we all lovehim, also andre rieu concerts with mr wijdbeens, its so good and you never know what hy is going to do, he has a script but always he trots koken tru it, thats why he is so uniek and we love this men🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
I'm a scout myself and the way they act remids me of the plays they put up for the beavers and the cubs. A week or a weekend with a theme and a storyline. Every leader would play a character. My fav one when I was a cub was the theme "dead Dodo's". One of the leaders, dressed as a dodo with ketchupblood all over them, was found in the bathroom and we had to figure out who did it :)

Andre van duin is worlds best comic actor, too bad dutch isn't a worldwide language. But this man has made so many great sketches, and even on his own he can be sooo super funny just because of the faces and the sounds he made

dat is mijn standaard reactie tekst die ik vertaald heb met Google Translate .
voor iemand met dyslexie is het niet zo makkelijk om een reactie te maken .
en al helemaal niet in het Engels dan ook nog eens .
ik heb op school nooit Engelse taal les gehad .
dus ik heb mijzelf het moeten leren vanaf tv-programma's en flims via de ondertiteling .
ik kan Engels spreken (gebrekkig) en verstaan/begrijpen maar aan het schrijven/typen
is geen beginnen aan voor mij laat staan de juiste spelling en woorden op de juiste plaats zetten
om de juiste Engelse zinnen te maken .
ik weet hoe ik iets wil hebben staan maar om dit op de juiste manier uit Google Translate te krijgen dat is soms nog een heel gevecht met Google Translate .
vandaar dat ik voor mijn allerdaagse reactie even snel de zelfde reactie uit het klembord kopieer en dan de juiste naam er bij zet op wie de reactie is natuurlijk .
maar ik heb alle kanalen waar ik op reageert dit ook laten weten hoor waarom het steeds de standaard reactie is .
tenzij ik er natuurlijk echt iets passend op Die video op wil reageren dan natuurlijk .
maar dan kan ik al gauw 10 tot 30 minuten per reactie bezig zijn voor het er staat zoals ik in mijn hoofd het heb zitten .

Funny to see the logic joke has been used by a few sketches in recent times aswell.
The conductor is Ruud Bos. He died last year, in 2023, he was a composer of a lot of music for Dutch television, but also for several attractions in Dutch theme park Efteling. He was a great man and he was not gay, although he did not have an aquarium. 😀
I like these translations, they are exactly one on one what is said.
I loved his (translated to Dutch) cover of ‘la bohème’ he sang for Matthijs van Nieuwkerk a couple of years ago.
André in his prime was the best thing that happened to Dutch TV. nowadays it is not so much anymore.

The best clip I ever saw of Andre wasn't even really a sketch (Though he made one out of it) but more or an interview as in an evening show before public. If I ever find it I will think of you. (Will translate it myself if I have to). You seem to enjoy him even more then I do :)

Ok, wat ik er over kan zeggen: Was dus een interview/gesprek voor publiek. Hij had een prop bij zich dat een wekker was (of zich zo iig gedroeg). Die werkte in eerste instantie maar ging daarna (telkens) weer af. En Andre begon steeds extremere dingen te doen om hem uit te krijgen.

Funny how local jokes don’t translate. Willem Jan Jaap, indeed already funny because of the social double first names hope to have, exaggerated by making it a triple first name. But later he calls him Willem Yab Yum, which refers to the best known brothel in Amsterdam. Often associated with the peaks of the criminal world in The Netherlands.
Fun fact for the logic part: Andre was 1 of the first openy gay celebreties in the Netherlands.

Wel, he wasn't married during this sketch yet. We where the first in the world to have gay weddings, but still the first was only in 2001. Looking at the public this is way before that. So at the time gay people indeed wouldn't be married.
