- Jethro Tull comprised of Ian Anderson (flute, guitar, voice), Martin Barre (electric guitar), Dave Pegg (bass guitar) and Dave Mattacks (drums) performing A Christmas song during their A Little Light Music tour in Mannheim, Germany in 1992.
I listen to this song multiple times....every year at Christmas. Jethro Tull is a band that will only come around once - period.
Truth be told! 🎸🎶👍
Christmas morning every year I play 'The Jethro Tull 'Christmas Album.' A brilliant selection of songs....makes you happy, laugh, think and will even bring a tear to your eye! This song and 'Another Christmas Song' are just brilliant. A must album to play on a Christmas morn...
Me too
For the last 15 years, I've listened to this album on the 23rd of December. Both to get in the Spirit of Christmas, and to remind myself and those fortunate enough to listen in of what Christmas is all about. Without this, for me there is no Christmas Spirit. Ian Anderson is my Household Deity, even if he's not dead yet.
@@K0MBIAN Yes. Ian remains one of my musical hero's. An intelligent 'rock' star....and so much more. Was listening to 'Divinities' yesterday. Divine.
thx! and yes!
Friday I'm finely seeing Ian Anderson. Since my first amazing experience hearing Living In The Past on a 45 record but to my delight the B side was A Christmas Song! 1972only 12 yrs old. Severely abused it was like someone knows humanities B. S. It helped me stay clear headed. Jethro Tull did that for me!
This man and his assemblage were life changing 4 decades ago; are awesome here; and he's still magnificently sharing the bounty today. I urge anyone who can to reward him with their attendance when, or if, he comes your way. Such a treat will not be available forever. It's astounding that he still continues to perform. And trust me, you'll be more than pleased with his song choices.
I mean, really, you can see the man himself perform Aqualung still! And it hasn't lost one lick. Scintillating.
Well Said!!
If only everyone would learn from this song.
These geniuses' take on Christmas celebration. Bravo!
Very nice to see this live
He Santa pass us that bottle will you... always part of this number.
Love it.
Yust an hand made vocal song without technic, totally surprise, wonderful, and true, I love such songs and songwritings without any boosting of technic. I found today few days after Christmas 2020 to this band, this singer and this song, and I love it and will play it again to other Christmases, yeah.
GOD---How great is this????
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
Great to see Ian got well dressed????
I remember surfing smoking bud and listening to Jethro Tull!!
Brilliant, I have the vinyl 45 & will play it, but not many other Xmas songs.
Hey IAN ... veux tu passer cette bouteille !
Merci pour ce bon moment !
The best waves in San Diego Scripps 1974-75! Big waves and lots of buds! Friends and smoke!
Ian Anderson should do this song online for Christmas! Ian! 2021! It would be wonderful!
The Christmas spirit is not what you drink! J.Tull! Ian Anderson! Kids could never understand this? Cheers!
Christmas morning 2021 and listening to all of Tull's holiday classics, Merry Christmas Ian and thank you for the music!!!
We did the same, yet another masterpiece by The Laird.
I saw them perform this in San Diego the year before. My absolute favorite Christmas song , so glad I saw them in December and got to see it live
Brings a lump to the throat. Thanks Ian.
This is truly a wonderful Christmas song, absolutely rife with genuine Christian spirit and emotion, as I, as a follower of Christ, understand it. I fell in love with Tull and I.A. in 1979, after hearing the Songs From the Wood album. Actually, after hearing the first few seconds...
There is no-one like Ian. He's an autodidact, which I didn't know until recently. He's like another father to me, and I say this without dishonoring my own wonderful father.
God Bless you
Ian Anderson
Well He sounds pretty blasphemous in Aqualung but perhaps he saw something later - I love Jethro Tull and I like to think there is something Godly in their love of the folk heritage of England.
@@andrewowen7377 most of the lyrics were written by his then wife
love at ya too!
Genio ...ian
Beautiful Song!
AND YET THEY'RE NOT IN THE R&R HALL OF FAME
They're above that shit

I did stuff myself at the Christmas party but this song really puts me in the mood. Why is it not played in all the malls and elevators?
One of few lovely Christmas Songs , Stay Tune Ian,T f U
such a good fellow+
I think we would all do well to remember the things he later says
Grandi !
oh the irony! They don't play this in the shopping centers - Merry Christmas to all!
The intro to the version on the "A Little Light Music" album is hilarious (and a bit naughty!). Anyway, I put this version, a live backstage version from 1989, the 1968 original and the 2003 remake in my Christmas playlist. Thanks for the upload!
"Hey! Santa, pass us that bottle, will you? "
Ahah, brilliant!
C'est Juste Beau ! MERCI .

@decapitatespammers Incredibly well stated!!!
@roofpig95008 Ona a live version other than this he says its his other "girlie instrument he plays" And its a mandolin. :-)
love the irony...
Jesus.
@7nevyn7 Yeah well...you probably can't hold you liquor..
Hmmm...I do have a mandolin.
@Jackiedajackass Drambuie ;-)
Original,a bit bleak,but with a twist in the tale....typical Ian Anderson....The Master
And casual sex with farm animals is definitely out!😎
Apparently, Jacob Marley is the only one of us who offers a dissenting opinion of this piece... :(
Ugh, for God's sake, Ian, lose the wife beater shirt!!!
Judge not past times by one's present time and chill. Happy Christmas!
props and bad t-shirts turn you on - sound might be something you want to follow
