Yep spray it and let it sit then do it again. But if you have a torch setup, just wire brush the threads right after the jam nut , then put the heat to the nut till it gets red hot, while it’s hot put a couple wrenches and break them free. If it’s still a pain, heat it again after you wire brush it again and add some more penetrating oil. I promise it will fix the problem unless it is just rusted to shit. Then either order the new rod or if you have the time make a new one. A piece of half inch rod or even threaded rod. 3/8” rod will work too. But I would use what was there. ✌️oh it’s hard to believe they are seized from the factory. They are just tightened really tight from the factory. Pretty sure I’m right. You have to turn the bottom nut to the left like you are tightening it down towards the deck and the top nut spin like you are tightening or loosening but spinning up away from the bottom nut. When the height is where you want it the nuts get tightened up against each other. Some people really don’t know this. But I know most do. Don’t mean to offend anyone. ✌️👍🇺🇸

I have no repair shops any where around here so use youtube to repair it myelf . Because not only can you be pulling or ripping the grass out but only about a third is all you want to take off. So it will look good and not burned or yellow. I usually cut mine at about three or three and a half “. It looks fuller , thicker and nice and green. One and two is too low for my yard and doesn’t look good. But if your lawn is beautiful and thick I can be wrong. Peace. Oh by the way the bumper and graphics look great. Those deck wheels aren’t made to be on the ground all the time when mowing. They are there for anti scalping purposes. They float the deck up when you hit dips and mounds that aren’t level with the deck standard. There should be about 1/2” between the bottom of those deck wheels and the pavement when you’re on level ground. They should have 1/4”-1/2” clearance above the ground when mowing level grass.

@@LawnPusherthe only point I was trying to make was the anti-scalp wheels are not designed to support the weight of the deck. It can and will eventually strip the threading on the left and right rear deck adjustment bars. Depending on the amount of stress and friction the wheels encounter. A small flat sod lot with little to no imperfections in the surface area being cut won’t create as much damage as a surface with severe uneven ground surface where the anti scalp wheels take repeated blows.

@@LawnPusher David did not tell you to mow at any particular height. He said that you don't "need" to mow that low. He's right. You don't need to mow that low. However, I prefer cutting low just like you. I like the tight cut look. I still cut higher because it will look better for a longer period of time and you can save on watering. Taller grass will keep the water from evaporating as quickly. It also helps keep the air around the house cooler. BTW, did you check to make sure the tire pressure on both sides was the same? If one tire is lower than the tire on the opposite side, that will have a direct bearing on one side of the mower cutting lower than the other side. Happy mowing!

Found out the other person that takes turn mowing it has been parking it and driving it around when the mower wasn’t engaged (when using an attachment to sweep, thatch, aerate , and use the trailer and I’m wondering if that bouncing around hasn’t caused the deck to drop on those adjustments.
