Depends on your eye sight! I prefer bigger planes myself, but the F5K size is more affordable and can be flown on smaller fields.

I have flown for many years, but have not seen this technique with very tight turns to read energy low where it might possible to see the classic "wing waggle". Would love to see another of your Carbon Arts videos with these advanced "low altitude" reading; especially since we now have a legal 700-foot ceiling for most of Canada for model aviation.

I would recommend purchasing my Thermal Soaring Master Class training videos which go deep into air reading especially at lower levels. Each video is over 2 hours, and I cover subjects and techniques not usually discussed or taught. Go to the radiocarbon art.com website for more details. A direct link is in the video description.

Hi Paul, I wonder if you have seen the new Sansibear Bubble Surfer/Django BS. 2.54m. HLG, yes HLG. design? It looks like they have been able to push the performance levels back up for an HLG design? I have been in touch with them but our NZD/EUR exchange rate is making it too expensive for me at the moment. I am interested in what you think especially flying one yourself? Thanks. Laurie. NZ.

Looks like a fun bigger HLG. More span always flys better. Can you throw that plane in the flats and still thermal out? Depends on your arm...there is a video on my channel of a DLG launched 3 meter...
