Trading with 1000 Cartographers Helped me Solve the Mystery of The Ice City in RLCraft!

- I traded with 1000 cartographers in RLCraft and kept track of every map I got! This journey ended up leading me to finally solving the Ice City structure mystery in RLCraft! In this video I detail the chance of getting any map from cartographers, how to read these maps, and the uses of each of these maps for the average RLCraft player. Flower forest maps lead the player to a biome where they can defeat pixies so they can make potions of wings. Maps to jungles, extreme hills, and a few others, can lead the player to finding trolls which help the player make avian saddles and a few other important things in RLCraft. There are a lot of good uses for the maps. I then transition to detailing a rabbit hole I fell into while searching for an Ice City structure, which is one of, if not, the most broken and amazing structures to find in all of RLCraft 2.9, and it was even more insane in previous versions of RLCraft when the infinite xp obsidian villagers could be found there. This mystery involves the notorious Frozen ocean biome, which is a biome that does not generate in Minecraft versions 1.8-1.12.2. The biome is made able to generate again in 1.13 Minecraft. RLCraft, while taking place in Minecraft 1.12.2, is considered an exception to this rule due to the modded aspect of the pack. People say, since the frozen ocean biome is registered on the RLCraft wiki and there is a custom end game structure that only generates in this biome, it goes without saying that it is in the game. This has been commonly accepted for a very long time, but I looked into it so thoroughly that, with my argument, I managed to catch the attention of, the mod author of RLCraft, Shivaxi himself. Shivaxi helped me put this mystery to rest, once and for all.

@@mamitutr1112 ^^^ i came to kiwi's channel after simply looking into version 2.9 and never stopped watching then came to casualty because kiwi mentioned him in one of his episodes of im not mistaken then watched this video and was like 😮 hey i watched kiwi before thats cool that he mentioned him never thought of looking at either of their subs until not too long ago and they are fairly small channels but hey smaller channels are more interesting to watch 9 times out of 10 and one day when they get the recognition they work so hardly for you can say you were there when they were up and coming!! You guys seriously are huge insperations and i know that i just talked to casualty about specs and whatnot so i wanted to thank you for the feedback!! My god, i spent hours and hours the other week looking for one frozen river cause it said on the wiki that it had strays there, as i was farming for my ring of overclocking... only to find zero of them and coping with a small frozen village with 2-3 spawns per night. Glad this was found and is going to be fixed, ty cas

Cas you are the most amazing youtuber that I know, you just don´t give up, you keep going until the problem is solved and even when is very hard you simply do not give up, you seem to be a realy nice guy and I say this because I realy think that I watch all of your streams even those super old on the multyplayer server and sence I started to play RlCraft I don´t miss out in any of your videos I hope you keep on making content. Edit: Also, are you going to update your baubles tier-list? The Ankh Shield acts a bauble now If I saw it correctly, but I'm still not sure if holding it offhand still counts as an equiped bauble, so I'd like to know what you think (Plus the Magic mirror is working now!)

The frozen ocean biome can be generated using the coustom world generation option during world creation
Not really relevant to this video but watching the streams i saw that the durability of silver armor was a problem some people had something that helped me was using potions of mending then wine to keep the affect going the added repairing helps a lot
You should do a rlcraft 2.9 challenge where all the mobs are blight, you can do this by going into the config and enabling it in the mods
Mushroom biomes, at least in vanilla, don't spawn mobs at night

This is kind of a weird comment, and this is a year old video, but since RLcraft 2.9.2 was added, somehow the IceCity generated in my RLcraft world didn't even cheat to generate it. Im not even joking; it generated at the Ice Plains biome, where I was 40k blocks away from spawn. I even posted it on Reddit. I'm not even bragging or anything, but I just want to say that IceCity does generate now; it's just very far away.

just a question as i realy liked your previus "guides" and playtrough did y think about making a full beginner early mid game guide
becuase even after watching so many peoples guides and your playtrough i feel like a big dummy not sure waht i do wrong too be so weak and often losing all my stuff while exploring
I am thinking about making an early game tips and tricks video, but it may not be able to solve that exact issue. My guess is that you're struggling knowing when to run or not to run from encounters. Early on in RLCraft, you should run from pretty much anything. It is one of the best advice I can give someone. If you keep like a shovel and a few building blocks on your quickbar while exploring and keep an eye out for dragons, as long as you dig straight down a few blocks and then place blocks over your head, you will never die. I don't do this much because I know the attack patterns and speeds of all enemies, so I know whether I can dodge and weave away from enemies, but retreating from fights and running is all you need to do until around mid game. Going through battle towers is different. That is where you are in a controlled setting and prepared to fight. If you come across an enemy in the world, you have no reason to fight them unless they are the specific mob you are looking for. If you are dying while exploring, than you are fighting things that you shouldn't be, is the only reason why I am guessing that may be your issue. You should focus on just running around passively looking for villages not surrounded by dragon nests, trading with cartographers for maps to specific biomes that you need for a tamed flying mount or potions of flight, and trading with villagers in general for xp and the like so you can be strong enough to raid battle towers. RLCraft is very hard, but if you only fight when you have to, than you will have a better time. I hope this helps. If you have a more specific question, feel free to ask, as I know this is a pretty broad response.

but i sadly died in a cave dungen too a lion spwaner even wiht my strong gear i got too tapd by a lion wiht my shild up
so i tried recovering it but i was campd by the lion and some witches so i lost it all all my 3 days of work gone
but i was left wiht sadnes and hate but also the tought was i too weak not prepaerd engouh was i just unlucky or died i just suck at combat in rlcraft

@@paragiertt5040 In your case it seems like you were in one of the mid to high tier doomlike dungeons. I used to call the dungeon a medusa doomlike dungeon as on rare occassions there can be a medusa spawner, but I believe shivaxi took out the medusa spawner for rlcraft 2.9 since medusa heads are so OP for pvp, so making them more accessible isn't the best idea. In those dungeons there can be quite a few lycanite mob spawners (if I am remembering the dungeon correctly). Those dungeons are indeed pretty hardcore. With your gear you were a bit underequipped for the dungeon. You should have had at least protection IV on your chest and head, and natural blocking II on your shield if possible. Even with that though, with only a and a half bars of hearts, enemies hit pretty hard, so being 2 shot by a feradon seems plausible, just unlikely. You probably got crit on your head and that is pretty unlucky (about a 1/16 chance if I remember correctly). You certainly are not a bad player, but in RLCraft, you are not a heroic adventurer who takes on dangerous dungeons with diamond armor and healing food like in some other modpacks. In RLCraft you are prey and everything can defeat you with ease. Even in battle towers, a single blight can still destroy a player in full protection IV diamond armor. Fighting should be taken on with a game plan and always have escape as the main part of your game plan. If you take on a fight without thinking about where you will flee if things get dicey, than you are bound to be defeated. I think a tier list of dangerous dungeons is an interesting video idea, but in that video the summary at the end would be "keep in mind that even in the easiest dungeons, you can still get unlucky and have a blight or infernal spawn that will kill you, so you shouldn't take any of these dungeons on carelessly or without proper equipment. The moment you get too confident, the game will punish you." I know I am making RLCraft sound pretty scary, but I think it is important for any new player to think that way about RLCraft, and it will help them become a much stronger player. Players like myself who have played the pack for a while make it look easy, but it isn't easy, and I play incredibly passively, always considering that I will potentially need to flee at any moment, even when I have max gear on. Sorry if this didn't help more, but I know you can do it without my help! RLCraft takes patience and practice more than skill. No matter how much you learn about the modpack, that won't change. Oh also, after losing progress we can't give up, or RLCraft wins! The hardest thing to do sometimes is pick ourselves back up after a hard fall, but any RLCraft veteran will tell you of at least 5 occasions where they have lost days worth of progress, but they all learned from it. Usually it is a dumb lesson like "don't fight verdant chupracabras with an unenchanted diamond sword" or something like that, but we all learn something with every death regardless xD. In your case you learned that those lion enemies are dangerous, and that those dungeons can have those dangerous enemies within them.

You probably won't see this but I play on the craftersland server. Tends to have 10k block on main world. Has a raid world which is supposed to be a duplicate of hte main world. Just fewer dungeons. Anyways me and some friends around late 2020 early 2021 literally explored millions of chunks by going in random directions a few fridays in a row when they reset the raid world. We never found a frozen ocean biome and assumed it had something to do with the guy who made the raid world plugin as he is a member of the same community.
Unfortunatly getting ahold of that guy is like pulling teeth. I could be toothless before getting a response. We just thought that the plugin wasn't accessing the ocean. If we had all tried singleplayer instead and used cartographers we might have realized this sooner and said something.
The reason we wanted to find it was cause we could say we did but also because videos that had talked about stated there was a npc you could trade obsidian for xp and since raid/end/nether all reset we knew the end island would be easy xp for the markets lol. Oh well. Glad it got solved tho and that we may be able to find it in 2.9.2.

My guess with maps is that they use eastz,north south and west,
To go down go south, up is north east is right and west is left on the map
Or atleast this has helped with finding treasure chests in regular Minecraft

I’ve noticed personally that the dungeons never spawn above ground for me, they are always below ground, is there some way to fix this or?
The lycanite dungeons almost always spawn underground. I forgot how rare the above ground ones are, but my guess is like 5-10%
yo this has nothing to do with the video but how tf do we use ancient fishing rods and keep the enchantments
You should be able to place the ancient fishing rod and a book into a disenchanting table to get an enchanted book with the enchantment the fishing rod had on it. In RLCraft 2.9 though, those fishing rods cannot be used besides being placed in a disenchanting table as far as I am aware

Cartographers are pretty worthless in RLcraft in general. Also you say Mesa wrong. Its "May-sa" and its "Wendi-go" not "wen-dingo." Mushroom biomes are useful because they are peaceful and dont spawn hostile mobs....
