The two were evenly matched, yet one would inevitably exhaust the other._ _Both adversaries had memorized that as fact before even meeting, however, and fought on regardless of the consequences each knew too well, blade meeting scales, claws meeting steel. Occasionally each would release their more powerful attacks; when the dragon let loose their fiery breath, and when the swordsman unleashed the power of a staff capable of summoning useful allies. Each time this happened, one side felt as though they came closer to victory._ _They dodged and weaved, both in the sky and on the ground, moving from sea to sky to desert to forest, all while attempting to connect blows on one another. Though heavily armored, the Swordsman wasn't as tough as the dragon, yet was also faster and allowed less to meet his armor, feeling the recoil with each failed dodge as the dragon cut at his thick plated armor._ Yet finally, the opportunity one of the two were waiting for revealed itself. _The Swordsman took their rapier out. The dragon was none the wiser to this change of weaponry, his last chance at anticipating the Swordsman's plan, simply thinking of the change as from one pointy stick to another._ _This became his downfall, as in an otherwise effective show of brute strength, he clamped his jaws tight upon the Swordsman, his armor coming close to buckling under the pressure. What the Dragon had not predicted, however, was the swordsman taking his rapier and, while still within the dragon's mouth, piercing it's skull through the mouth with their armor-defying rapier, of which it had saved for this moment._ _The dragon died instantly, and, as they were within the air, the dragon relaxed it's death grip as they fell, the two bodies quickly descending. The cockatrice, now revived, came to their master's aid, catching them as they fell. The two had fought for hours, but finally, the Swordsman emerged victorious, claiming it's parts to forge into powerful weaponry. To all onlookers, it could be described as two meteors coming into contact within orbit, one merely bouncing off the other, while the second was sent careening down to earth, burning up in the atmosphere as it did so, and vaporizing as it passed through, creating a spectacle for the people far below to witness._ _Finally, as the sun begun rising, the Swordsman began heading home to tell of the enormous feat he had just accomplished, yet respectful of the dragon's valiant efforts, leaving not only physical scars, but a psychological mark that he would carry on for the rest of his life; not in fear, but in remembrance of the closest flirt with death he would ever experience for the rest of his eventful life, a challenge he would respect and learn from for the rest of the time he was given."_ *Jumpcuts to Casualty using an autoclicker to farm dragons.*
