    For some reason Rado is as well known or better known outside the US. When I was in India a few years back, they seemed very much a status watch. I've always liked Rado and like you grew up knowing their brand. The diastar brings back fond memories. Now if only the captain cook was in 41mm.

      Yeah I wouldn’t mind the CC in 41 in addition to its 43. Interesting story about India too.

    These 2 models bring back fond memories, truly a blast from the past! Lovely modern interpretations. Great video Rich!

    I am in the NOT on Diastar. I remember when this came out. Never got into it. At that time in my life I had a Girard Perregaux with an alarm. Good show and good to show some our watch history. Cheers

    Funny, that was my second purchase after Swatch's automatic, late 80's! I don't know what happened to that DiaStar!

      Oh man. You gotta find that DiaStar. It became a timeless classic/design. Maybe it’s under a couch cushion.

      @@whatsonthewristLol...I wish. Too many moves...it's probably buried in a dump somewhere! I do know it did stop working and I put it away; the rest is a mystery!

    Hi Richie
    Why do you think Rado is not very popular at least in the watch community ? I've always liked the Captain Cook but rarely see anyone talking about it or reviews.

      Hi, JJ. Good question because it’s a name brand that everyone immediately recognizes. It usually boils down to marketing. The CC is so under rated, it’s top notch.

    The diastar is growing on me but which of the two is best for investment

    • @whatsonthewrist
      @whatsonthewrist  3 місяці тому

      They’re both timeless, but the Diastar is one of the most recognizable models even from across the room. That’s not an answer to your investment question, it’s more of what could be in demand.
