Feels like they purposefully were being “boring” so reporters would leave them alone. Deftones don’t give af about press or meaningless interviews. It’s all about the quality music… that’s why they’re still remembered and are one of the greatest bands of all time.
Last thing Deftones needs is to worry if TNT cares about Deftones. One thing is for sure… Latin America cares about the Deftones.

They were owning the game in late 90s, early 2000s. MTV, VH1 all the time. Won a Grammy. Top players. And she just screwed this interview up. Shit girl.

Lady, show some respect, have you heard what Chino Moreno sounds like? With his mesmerizing voice he is basically the most important being in the universe. It doesn't matter if your station plays only basic music for basic people. Quality counts over quantity. Maybe some day you will understand that.

A good example of what I'm saying is the story behind Flea's first Grammy: His daughter ruined it by using it in garden of their house. Flea never grounded her or anything. Wow, what aggravates me is the fact that she's probably Mexican (speaking Spanish) not realizing Chino and Frank are half Mexican.
Chino's mother is of Mexican and Chinese descent and his father is Mexican. So that makes Chino predominantly Mexican. His aunts and uncles called him "Chino" after the spanish term "Chinito" because they thought he had the Chinese side of his mothers looks, and the name stuck.
Deftones are a super successful mixed cultural band who brought the CA central valley (largely composed of agricultural land, worked by migrant workers) and the city of Sacramento in the spotlight. They were partly discovered by Madonna who heard something special in their music and were signed to her label "Maverick" way back in the day. They were given the Key to city in 2000 by the Mayor of Sacramento as a token of thanks to their musicianship and for representing Sac throughout the world. They have gone through a lot of change in the music world and managed to stay relevant and innovative while other bands have lost their relevance or have completely vanished. And they've been an inspiration to many in the music world and world at large. I haven't event touched up on all the new things their doing with their business ventures. I mean come on, what other band has their own festival (Dia de los Deftones), very very few! The band is legendary and SUPER underrated. It's why they have such a huge following.
I finally understand my disconnect with younger women than me 😭 I would of absolutely been thrilled to see Chino and the boys but younger gen just want the bad bunny’s , I just turned 30 but nu metal saved my life 🙏

Cuando estaba leyendo sobre esta nota, pensé, qué raro, los Deftones son una banda de culto, alternativa pero nunca olvidada, por la gente que sí sabe de música. En fin, se me hizo raro saberlos en los grammys y aparte en entrevista para tnt, ambos tópicos que no tiene nada que ver con el nivel de la agrupación. Sigo leyendo y la nota fué sobre ésto, el comentario de una infortunada pseudo comunicadora, que desconoce la calidad de entrevista o respuestas que pudo haber obtenido de realizar preguntas más inteligentes, pero al final entendí que ella tenía razón, a un seguidor promedio de los premios geammy y el canal TNT difícilmente puede parecerle atractiva esta oferta televisiva.

She's even Mexican, should know that 3/4 of the band is a portion Mexican. If you're gonna be tasked with red carpet interviews, get to know your artists, even if they're not your cup of tea. If you don't like the music, don't listen but at least get to know their history and accolades. This would be such an amazing opportunity, I would be starstruck meeting these guys, I would probably forget how to talk. But once I remembered, it would be hard to shut me up!

Chino Moreno is the most cool sounding vocalist ever with a voice that sounds very surreal. Listen to the track Labor's out by Mike shinoda. Chino does guest vocals on it. And all deftones tracks are also more evidence for that.
