- Due to circumstances mainly beyond their control, Leeds based Boogie Rock five-piece DEDRINGER failed to capitalize on a well received debut album and can only reflect back on what might've been. Formed during 1977, under their original title of DEADRINGER, after signing to pop label Din Disc, the band opened for GILLAN, the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP and Canadians TRIUMPH in order to support the 1980 'Direct Line' debut album.
Momentum was halted following a bad car crash that injured guitarists Al Scott and Neil Hudson. DEDRINGER split, only to reform in 1982, by which time Neil Garfitt had replaced vocalist John Hoyle whilst Flaxington had been superseded by Chris Graham. Al Scott quit shortly after the release of 'Second Arising' which found DEDRINGER signed to the Neat concern.
Love this song! Discovered it on that NWOBHM compilation they brought out a few years back - reminds of Thin Lizzy crossed with UFO :D
That's my Uncle Al Scot on guitar! XxX
i remember these guys, they where mint live, sunday drivers great album and track, the original line up was the best, not as comercial they had anolder geezer singing, think he was called johny hoyle,,,great voice....great band
Amazing
Early on these guys were really good, like this. They were commercial with a punch, like Darkstar were.
Reminds me of Ted Mulry gang Aussie Rock! Jump In My car! Just a little heavier guitar production.
I saw them at the 'Lep' Top Rank gig, I was right at the front, they were xlent!
please please upload sunday drivers. these guys blew whitesnake off at bradford st georges 1980
Anyone know where to get Dedringer on CD? Seems like there's only vinyl available on eBay (please don't tell me they never had any CDs re-released!)
Check out The Bazooka Band on myspace to find what hes doing now.
