If you're having difficulty with this instead of doing the four presses hold it for about 10 seconds. I had to alternate between these two things to get it to work for whatever damn reason. I have a feeling that the four presses is to get it to sync with a Smart Hub and the long press is to get it to sink directly with the device. You have to pair the remote with the light or device you're using it with and then additionally with the Smart Hub you're using it with
