Depends on your time frame for holding ? Very important to time the buy and sell in regional markets as they are very volatile .First thing is to check how long the mines have been operating in Mackay and how long they have before shut-down. Most mines have a 10 year life . Townsville is overrated , cannot justify the price for the population there . I would stick to metros to be honest, less headaches if you invest for the long term . Regional markets are like trading shares , they are 3 to 4 year holds not 10 to 15 year holds .

Townsville for sure Mackay is a mining town
Both are going strong but we’ve preferred Townville over Mackay for its more diverse employment.
