White 116500 & black 116520. Where we can see a stringer contrast between the dial and the sub dial.
Watches aren’t really good investments, they’re just a nice (expensive) hobby.

The 116520 does look more elegant but the ceramic Daytona with the new bezel & the black sub dials looks incredible in the metal!

Ceramic for me. As I am new to the watch world. Tho I’ve loved watches since childhood. But the knowledge of them is new to me. And the ceramic Rolex is one of the pieces that drew me into watches

Bezel on 116520 is exchanged as part of service, or if you request it is changed at £175

The old basil steel basil Will be more timeless in less than 10 years I would say everyone’s tuned into the new one it does pop more but the other one will remain more classic looking and will increase in value if you look at all the toners they’re flimsy very Chingy noises when you shake the bracelet and their value is let’s just say I could buy a condo Miami one bedroom so now you know where I’m coming from I like it now the ceramic bezel but I know that the timeless and more ones that were obtained value it has more class is the one with the steel basil

The116520 is the proper design with the steel bezel dazzling and playing the light. The Caytona is less contemporary and more the trendy piece of the two.

You nailed it: ceramic for black dial, steel for white dial.

White Face Ceramic Bezel outclasses the old white face steel. Just looks better and you can clearly read the sub dials. Just as you said the white face you can wear on a daily basis, black is to dressy for my life style. I appreciate your video, l love Germany (very beautiful and diverse landscapes, people were very friendly to me) and was fortunate to play Hockey in the Oberliga for 3 years.

Unfortunately you are correct. The 116520 bezels do wear and fade away.. The next purchase will be the black/black 116500.

I have had my 116520 for over 8 years now and the bezel hasn’t fade much. Maybe I only wear it two days a week along with my seadweller and white gold datejust?

Great video, looks are subjective but I think you nailed it with new vs old. The Blk on Blk is unique for the new ref is the way to go. Agreed about the 11650 white face is an icon, I was think8ng about changing the steel bezel to ceramic but after this vid I’ll leave the classic look.

I have the 116520 and its just so timeless and nice to behold.
Will look classier than the 116500LN 50yrs down the road.

If you can still read the bezel that's true. I find it so annoying how bad the bezel of the 116520 holds up

Daytona supposedly for MAN and Sport, case size small 40mm and the strap at the claps feel and look feminine. Should have made at the least the size of the GMT Master steel strap, one of an overrated Rolex watch, MPO. Hardly use and sold mine.

Thanks for the comparison, I've wanted to see them side by side. Problem with the older models is over polishing of the lugs, like you see here. Nice vid, thanks

    • @PALWE
      @PALWE 2 роки тому +1

Over polishing of lugs is not a constant to one watch. What makes you think all watch makers are over polishing all 116520 lugs? Sounds absurd. Mine are fine .

Buddy, only if its in mint conditions... meaning you buy but you dont wear it at all (whats the point), once you polished for scratches, or send for service, the value drop. When they said its a good investment, they just stop there. Its a marketing strategy.
