Holy crap....both my mirrors stopped working, figured it was the switch, bought a new one easy peasy.... didn't work. Went looking and thankfully found you...checked by the fuse, wires by it...THEN driver side door, just like you said broken.... can't say thanks enough!!!!!!
Nice job. I wasn't understanding where this factory splice was supposed to be in the wires until I watched this. Sure enough, it had corroded and broken apart. All good now...
Want to say you did a great job. I have the same problem, still trouble shooting but you gave me a lot of information and where to look. Again, very help and I am going to check out more of your videos and web site.
Cheers for the video mate.....my colorado mirrors weren't working....check fuse all good....pull the multimeter out put the red probe on the power wire the black on the car all good 12 volts....so bought a new switch threw that in ....and they still didnt work scratched my head for a minute thinking whats going on here....so out with the multimeter again red probe on the power wire and this time put the black probe on the earth wire......zero volts!!....turns out the earth wire was broken in between the door and the car .....the same issuse.....thanks again for the video this was a great help 👍🏼
Great vid. Much appreciated. For the benefit of people who are working on different cars, could you explain where to look up which wire is hot going into the switch, where to look up the switch pin combinations, etc.? Thanks again!
Great video. Both my mirrors on my 2007 Kia Sorento have stopped working. I bought it 12 months ago and they were only just working then. My only option is to take it to someone who knows what they are doing.
Wonderful!!...1st real go-by for a F150 power mirrors, . One thing to double check...on your piece that checks continuity on the switch...I THINK you have your pins mixed up. The left side mirror going up is pin 1&5 and 3&6. To go down would be 1&6 and 3&5. If I am wrong then please explain. By the way in my truck both mirrors went dead, yet I have 12v to pin 1 and a solid ground to #3. I tried a new switch (before checking continuity between switch pins) so not the switch. That leads me to believe there is a wiring problem from the switch to the mirror.
Ive got a vauxhall corsa ultumate 2022 9late how do i test the switch has the mirrow glass moves up and down but the mirrows dont fild in and out at all the suddenly stopped today ive checked all fuses and they are all good
I have a 2008 f350 with power extend and power fold.Everything works on both mirrors except the power fold function. I replace the switch, fuse, relay and 2 complete mirror assemblies. New mirrors act the same way as the old mirrors. Everything works except the fold function. I tried the mirror sync a few times with no luck. Cant see to find a wiring diagram for the power mirrors Im guessing which ever wire is responsible for the fold function has no power. Just not sure what wire that is? Great video.
Did it have power fold from factory? If so could be a busted wire. If it's not a factory option, it can be added. Check UA-cam, there are several videos on here about adding it.
It’s factory. I think there’s a break in the wire somewhere but without a diagram of the 20 pin plug to the mirrors I don’t know which wire does what without taking the harness apart. Thanks for the reply. I will be taking it to the dealer Wednesday. I’ll see what they come up with.
Sadly the only universal wire colors is the black for ground/negative and red for positive. And that can only be garunteed at the battery or alternator. If you have a vehicle other than a Ford F150, 04-08, yes the wire will be different color
Nice video. Just a suggestion from an old soldier who used to do a lot of presentations. Get in the habit of having something pointed (like a pointer, nail, multimeter probe, et al.) to use instead of your finger to pint things out....
Also the mirror switch will pop straight up and out as you can see from some of the views, there are two shiny wings that keep it in place.. good video btw..😀
if you want to test the mirror going from the connector that switch goes into - pins are to be 1 7, 6 and 5 - how do you hook the ground up …..there is no ground just using these pins -thanks

I'm glad it worked for you!!
Thank you for taken the time out explaining how to fix the power mirrors on the f150. It's a good presentation.

Hi! How do I figure out which wire is the earth wire?
@@1RandomAcc1 hi , sorry I got rid of the ute not long after, I forgot the colours since it was a while ago now
@@MrJono78 ah ok thats alright, thank you still!! someone told me to do it with trial and error

Thank you!
Can you direct me to the pin and wiring schematic for the switch and connector what # is positive and what # is negative

It does require a little electrical knowledge to tackle an issue like this. Good luck!

Thank you for this video. After cleaning all contacts, my swirly h works!
Good video mate, I think mines broken where yours is, as the odds of both mirrors being faulty at the same time doesn't stack up.

Orange with a green stripe. Is that the universal wire for power mirrors? Or would my vehicle likely have a different combination of colors?

Excellent video! Neither of my mirrors are working at all. I am going to try everything described.
have you figured it out yet....I have the same problem...2006 f150
Would it be similar to fix a power mirror that was ripped off and the wires were ripped too? I want try to fix it myself
Good vid.
intelligent job
good dayWhere i can found the test of switch mirror? The connector has voltage....but I want to do test in the switch.Regards
Are you going to plug Amazon and what kind of meter you like or show us how to fix an inoperable power mirror???
David Smith ...That's a bit untidy !
how to find out switch power and ground points without connect wiring hirness ?
Thanks
Hi, could you please let us know how to do the diagnosis till the motor?

Hey my power mirrors on my mustang stopped working, I checked for power at the connector and my multimeter only read 1.7 volts. What would that mean?
