Wow! I have had this monkey on my back for over a year now. It really had me down about my truck(2004 Lariat...new body) that I have had for 15 years with no problem. I have 260,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. My wife sometimes drove my truck and has not been able to because of the seat being too far back. I found this video today and the detached wire was the problem. My mirrors were out of commission as well as the adjustable pedals. This repaired them all!!! Thank you soooooo much! I had anticipated either spending tons of money or living with it. After your video, I had it working in 20 minutes. UA-cam and people like you have saved me so much money over the years.

Thanks for the easy fix. I bought a Ranch King that had this problem. Before I finished the deal I You-tubed your fix. Brought it home and a hour later I had my seat and mirrors and foot pedal adjustment.
    Thanks again.

I purchased my 2005 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 just over three years ago. The electric side mirrors never worked but not to much of a big deal. About 10 months ago my driver seat and adjustable pedals quit working too. My truck seat was set for me to drive it and I am 5' 8". My wife is 5'2" and could not reach the pedals. I found this video and it was spot on. After joining the wires back together not only did my power set and pedals work, but my mirrors are also working and the button to program drivers is working great. Than you for posting this video.

    Holy mother.
I just gave birth to a 5.4 block
    This man deserves big thanks
I was stunned when 8 ripped apart my harness and there it is. Bingo.
I'm just curious what kind of a ride dealer would take you.
I bet anything, if you walk into a ford store and ask a tech, 80% of them would point to this right away

I have a 2011 Edge limited. Lost the seat and mirrors. The wiring harness and fuse box are on the DRIVER'S side in this vehicle. The wires were fine but another video directed to another fuse location... our fix was the fuse in the #7 slot in the fuse box DEEP under the driver side dash! But its FIXED!! Got everything back including the lumbar adjustments. I wanted to post to make sure anyone with an MKX or an Edge is able to find the solution. Good luck and Thank you for posting this video!! Very helpful!

Thank you. Very good. I just went out and fixed my mirrors and seat exactly as you have shown. I have seen a video about a year ago where someone vaguely explained what to do, but you actually showed what should be done. My truck is a 2004 f150. Thanks again.

This was spot on. The car wash turned my Mirrors out and they quit working. I took them apart and couldn't find anything wrong. I followed this video and when I located the splice, it fell apart when I touched it. A little rewire and good as new..

Thanks so much for the tip. I have an ‘06 F150 Lariat. Neither my drivers seat memory function and both outside mirrors were working. After checking the #3; 7.5A fuse and found it to be good, I then found your video. It saved me hours of tracing the circuit and troubleshooting. The manual did not mention anything about this splice. I appreciate you making this video.

Thank you man! Saved my ass on my 04 lariat... finally got my power mirrors and seat back!! Ford made that wire so short with angle in harness no wonder it corrodided after 14 years. All that stress and wire finally gave out. Saved me a huge head ache!!

Here is another thank you coming at ya. After I checked the fuses and they were good then found no power at the switch I figured there was no power. Did a search on youtube watched your video first. Checked the wiring, broken wire just like you showed. That's awsome, thank you again.

Mine stopped working about a year ago. Wasn't really an issue until wife needed to drive the truck. Couldn't adjust pedals, mirrors or seat. This was an easy $5 fix. Just bought some quick splice clips and boom, all good again. Thanks!

Thanks a million! This video saved me hours of troubleshooting. I was having the same problem with the pwr windows on my 2005 Lariat, except in my case the power seats were still working. I kept rechecking my DMM and connections because I didn't have power at the mirror switch but the seats worked which seemed to indicate that the fuse was good. After watching your video I decided to go straight to the wire splice that you mentioned, and that was the problem. The pwr seat wire was still getting juice, just not the mirrors. It was caused by corrosion. I don't know how Ford made that splice, but obviously it was something other than plain old solder.

I've got this problem on a 2004 Lincoln Town Car and your solution gives me hope that something similar is going on with the wiring.
Even though the layout of fuseboxes and such are completely different, perhaps the building of the harnesses follow similar methods.
