Good soldiers I imagine the jungle is tougher than we realise. The insects tropical diseases humidity rain it’s all there will weigh heavily on the prepared and finish off the unprepared. No matter how fit you are the wrong thing bites you only the strongest of the strong can soldier in that environment. The marines are world class professional operators a proven fact maximum respect.
People belonging to commonwealth can now join without having been lived in UK for 5 years. I tried hard but could not. Everyday I would open the site to check for any message but there would be nothing. But still a huge fan fan of royal marine. Great respect from India
Whatever happens physically from now on and until you apply don't pity yourself - that's where most fail - ouch, oh, it hurts I want out This can be trained away. . Always remember: Commando is *team work* - help the others.
Man iam prepping to become of these! I smoke weed and go for runs for mental focus and endurance under other circumstances. After 3 hours i made it to edge sofa wich is a great performence.I do train my arms with beercans i bring to my mouth and simulate drowning. I gladly state i can now drink instead of drown. And i squat and fart for extra pressure on abbs.My uncle was navy combat pilot and was on 16 missions . got shot down on every one of them . but cannot remember a thing.
This is suggestion so do what you will but if you want to prepare the same as i do i would suggest just practicing the methods they select the recruits on.
Get fit, be determined and you'll gain physical and mental strength. I run 8 miles a day and that keeps me high level of fitness and I go out in all weathers, so running through rain, wind and snow in a T-shirt gives you that mental strength.
go out to the pub and get absolutely wreaked. 10 pints minimum. The next day, wake up at 0500 and got for a 7 mile run, followed by 50 push ups and sit ups. If you can finish, you have the strength to be a soldier.
i did not mention the fact he is talking about the sas special force instead of the preferred sbs force for rm, but instead it was more aimed at the fact he said "royal commandos"
TheRugbyClub HQ well you've gotta weigh each option out because with the paras yes your a ground force but a lot of your training will also be set towards jumping out a plane (which is pretty damn cool). With the marines however your a combat focused ground force which can be deployed anywhere, anyway. I personally like the marines more because they are an ELITE fighting force, the training is harder but to me there is a better goal at the end of training for marines
TheRugbyClub HQ Alwo the marines are the only force which can deploy you straight out of training to combat or operations no matter the age, if your a green beret your a green beret. But then again I've got family in the marines so am gonna be more byest, I'm no professional either on this subject so don't hold me to it but yup I see the marines as the way to go as they're the top of the top. ("The Royal Marines Cammandis under fi the longest and hardest training in the whole of NATO")
Yeah i think marines are specialised in amphibious, jungle, mountain and arctic warfare. Idk about paras really but they spend a large portion of training jumping out of planes. I think marines are the way to go but both are tough.
Who else wants to join the Royal Marines
Yh same but I’m conflicted because I also want to be a airline pilot

Paras or marines ?
TheRugbyClub HQ marine by a mile
Adam Burring whats the reasons ? I'm asking because I'm 17 and I want to join one of them

Says they are jungle specialists. Continues by saying that 95% of the company has never been in the jungle before.
Joel Bäckman Yes, the instructor’s are specialists.
