      I absolutely agree with Sunny however, if your brain is overly chaotic and guided meditations help, start with those. Also, I have found the Aum meditation a nice prelude silent meditation. I put my focus on the vibration and how it moved up the body as I slowly sound out Aum.
      Ironically, Sunny really has some great guided meditations on his channel ;)

      Sunny says 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. I personally make an attempt to do a breath count meditation, counting the breath 1 to 10 multiple times a day. Especially when I think to myself that I don't want too. Many times I'm flooded with thought and cannot even complete a 1 to 10. But making effort over and over again has absolutely paid off! Sat down the other day to attempt 5 minutes and finished 45 minutes later. I hope you find something that works ;)

    How do we deal with the suffering of ethnic cleansing in Ukraine, Syria, Ghaza etc and 'move forward and solve it' ? !! If we don't take note of what is happening in our world, then change won't come ! Talk won't work as all parties refuse to accept the consequences of their actions. OK, so we surrender the suffering to God, but where does that leave them and us? Surely, the 'true destiny' of all these millions of people isn't to suffer? !! Wanting a resolution for them, doesn't come from our' lower nature' but a deep-felt love of human kind. How can individuals, by following a spiritual practice, positively effect change , in the world? Finally, how can we be at peace when we see so many who are not living in peace but in tremendous fear. Just a reminder, not only are soldiers losing their lives, but also many many women and children.

    • @georgesonm1774
      @georgesonm1774 8 місяців тому

      I would guess - in the short run, it won't solve these issues, obviously :( in the long run, spiritual growth adds to creating a wiser, more peaceful world - at least where you are, possibly even despite external atrocities taking place. Possibly for others - contagious. Also, none of these points says anything about staying passive; 'acceptance' has more to do with detaching the unchanging, spiritual part of who we are - which lasts beyond death or any external turbulence, and being able to rest in it, which brings peace and trumps fear/anxiety; also - it's acceptance of the external, not in the sense of "liking" it, but in not living in denial of what is. If you're not attached to outcome because you have the transcendent perspective, you allow yourself to see reality more clearly - beautiful or horrible equally. From there, of course, you can act, best you can, to change it (see points 4. and 5.)

    Sunny, I came across one of your videos that mentioned in the title "Mooji's approach". It concerned me to see that you referenced Mooji. My experience of him is that he has abused his students and does not come from the highest place. I've had personal experience of some spiritual teachers being unethical. You are the only teacher that I trust and follow. My heart sank to see that you referenced Mooji. Could you please help me understand. Thank you!🌺

    • @selfinquiryschool
      @selfinquiryschool  10 місяців тому +1

      If you get distraught by hearing something bad about someone then one day may come when you hear something bad about me too and lose all trust 🙂 My advise would be to forget the teacher, focus on the teaching. This includes me. Don't hold me to any standard. I could never live up to any standard you may have for me in your mind. If the teaching feels true and it is coming to your experience, let it flow and practice it. Other than that hold no attachment or standard for me because it will usually end in disappointment. And this is a cunning way the mind continues to create trouble. Best to avoid it.
      Mooji is an excellent teacher in my experience. I don't know about his story or his problems, and it isn't that important to me. It is not my place to judge what I do not know about. Regardless, people make all sorts of mistakes and learn from them, spiritual teachers included.

    • @taraparker2896
      @taraparker2896 10 місяців тому

      Thank you Sunny for your quick response. I underestand what you are saying and agree that it's not helpful to expect anyone to live up to any standards I may have. I do however "draw the line" when it comes to "serious criminal behavior.” When something doesn’t feel right I do my due diligence to try and understand and be dicerning. I judge the behavior. Not the person.
      Swami Chetananda - aka Shoemaker: Human trafficking. Two suspicious deaths, “drug-fueled gang rapes,” and women being choked unconscious are among the revelations of a new lawsuit against Swami Chetanananda. I have a friend who knows Chetananda and confirmed that these alegations are true.
      John of God in Brazil: Oprah Winfrey’s healer at one time. Oprah traveled to Brazil and spent over a week with Jon of God promoting his contoversial healing technique's. John was arrested by Brazillian authorities after over 600 allegations of rape and sexual exploitation were made against him. He was also accused of keeping teenage girls as sex slaves, making them undergo pregnancy and childbirth, and then selling the babies to the ‘highest bidder’. Oprah has since deleted all her videos of them together since he has since been arrested and is now in prison. Currently, the sentences add up to 489 years and 4 months in prison..

    • @selfinquiryschool
      @selfinquiryschool  9 місяців тому +1

      @@taraparker2896 Yes I agree, we should not condone violence and abuse.
      We should not however discard a teacher or their teachings solely because we may have heard someone accuse them of wrongdoing.
      If it is proven, we can let go of following them or their teachings, and pray for them. Violence and abuse to others is violence and abuse to one's own self.

      Thank you, Sunny. What positive purpose is there with just identifying as an “observer” when going through life? I understand that you don’t become identified or ensnared within a story, but then what? You become peace? So you live a drab life? When does the joy and bliss come in? When does life become fulfilling?

    • @heartsofgoldenrod
      @heartsofgoldenrod 9 місяців тому

      How do you mean that everything is impermanent? From an intellectual standpoint, yes, you can say none of this lasts, but from an experiential standpoint, if something happens to you and it affects you for the rest of your life until your avatar dies, how can you say that it’s impermanent within the story? As we are living within our own stories.
