- Bro, how can anyone beat The King of Fighters '95 arcade mode without CHEESING out the broken CPU!? I just don't get how this is possible! This game definitely got me frustrated... Can you all guess how I ended up beating it!?

JWong: I'm a Capcom fighting god!
SNK: That's cute.
SNK AI: *bash the entertainer laugh
Rugal: Repeat this after me, I'll never take on a GOD again.
@@hakageryu307 my boy knows his quotes
Hooooo that hurts...🤯
And look at the level : 4 ! Imagine level 8 ! I know how it s like cause I never go below level 8
Fun fact: the guys who designed the AI for SNK bosses have their own circle of hell reserved just for them!
Yes
And when they get there they will be forced to only play KOF bosses on hardest difficulty and all their skill will be removed and they will never ever be able to beat a boss lol
If I had to guess, they probably designed hell too
Don't forget Snes MK AI...
Lol FACTS
This is such a beautiful game, and full of details. One little detail found in Mai's stage is that the guy sitting in the middle starts playing his armonica when the armonica part comes up. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay, but it sure is an interesting addition to the game.
It really is so cool how much detail they put in this game .. great times playing this in the arcade and dreaming about having it at home one day hahaha
"That did so much damage" KoF 95 in a nutshell.
He hasn't even seen what this game can actually do yet, he is still playing basic, this kof has cancel Infinites
Kof94 and 95 was the only kof ever to do cancels from basic moves highs into lows then back into highs
When the POW is in MAXIMUM, you deal massive damage even on normals.
@@carltasticdrew9633 correct, a literal 3 hit combo can either kill you or deal 80+% damage to your health
And you can add he didn't saw that sometimes, he was hitted by caracters that were just launched their SDM as in 95 there still was no black flash with freeze to show it. That why it was so deadly impact like here 2:41 (Chang hitted the ball on his head as a beginning of it)
By the way, I totally forgot how beautiful were some stages in this game I played so much, 25 years ago ^^
Appreciate you suffering for our entertainment. Go Justin!
95 was awesome! The arranged soundtrack is pretty amazing, and the voices werent as compressed as later entries.. so lots of emotion from the characters and their move shoutouts (and beefy hit sounds).. Iori's laugh in this is iconic, whereas later entries it fell rather flat. Have to give shoutouts to the intro sonic air supply edit though that was hot. So many funny cheap things in this game :D brings back some good arcade memories
Omega Rugal with the 2 hit KOs. Now try level 8 and see if it even lets you play, or your character just collapses as soon as the fight starts.
lmfaooo
HAHAHAHAHA BRO IM DYING 😂😂😂
That failure montage reminded me of Edge of Tomorrow: "On Your Feet, Maggot!"
FUN FACT: The "95" in KOF '95 doesn't refer to the year it released, but instead the percent of damage you can do in a short combo
Seriously though, the damage in this game is absurd
94 and 95 have damage of SF2 WW/CE. But those are early 90s games. So it felt strange for mid 90s games like KoF 94-95 to be that way. Even other Neogeo games of 94-95 like FF3 werent that way. (SS doesnt count)
@@SlickRick4EVER I found the source. It's called a joke I think.
LOL
May god bless my soul if I go through every game and try to play ‘95.
Also, nice profile pic.
@@SlickRick4EVER A little slow on the uptake eh, "fool"?
Oh no!!! The King of Fighters '95!!! Here in Latin America that RUGAL is Hated big time!
On fightcade he is played with alot from the latin Americans side
Brazilian here, can confirm
I really like the death animation in this game, especially how the background changes and everything fades away.
"I hate the SNK computer”. Me too Justin, me too. Fighting SNK AI especially the bosses is like an endurance test of how long you can hold up not to get angry and smash your controller 😂
Rugal literally exploded from a time out
Do you dare fight Goenitz, Justin?
I'd enjoy watching that
Oh God, Goenitz
That end part with the character deaths had me rolling. So fucking funny!
This makes me feel less bad about how hard I used to find KOF AI 🤣
Would definitely be interested in seeing you do more KOF arcade mode runs 🙂 Goenitz, Orochi, Krizalid, Zero, lovable Igniz...so many cheap bosses 🤣🤣
Orochi and Zero are on the easier side of bosses though, but you are right overall... i mean, compared to SF bosses.
The problem with those is that they are very easy to exploit, speciallyl igniz, igniz would be the hardest one ever if there wasn't a exploit in particular that trivializes the whole fight, actually 2 exploits.
I think Magaki from XI is the hardest one but it has to be in the highest difficulty, XI is the only one where difficulty actually matters.
Ain't like 95 Rugal didn't have exploitable AI, too. If Justin doesn't know the exploits, lovable Igniz can realistically blow him up with TOD combos.
Orochi(kof97/98um) and both zeros(kof2000/2001) are pretty pathetic, igniz, krazilid and goenitz, magaki, mukai, chizuru/maki, Goodman, mizuchi, shion, dark ash, saiki they are included in the spams aswell.
I'm having flashbacks of losing to Rugal in the arcades.
You won like a pro, without tricking the Ai into doing what is programmed to do after each hit and punishing it, you played an SNK game and reacted to a lot of things. You are amazing man. That's why you're the best in the business
YEEEEEEEEES THANK YOU JUSTIN, I hope you do an arcade playthrough of all kof games since we are getting kof 15 soon! that would be so awesome
ngl i wanna see how you are gonna manage to beat the unfair bosses lol
Yes, of course i love this type of content, more SNK is always welcome. Ah, KOF 95, i love the production values, but my God the Arcade mode is so dumb, also i heard the damage was really messed up on this one, even on 1v1 you could end a round with 2 combos.
Anyway i still remember one of my proudest moments in this franchise, when i managed to beat this game with a single coin. Is nothing but an endurance of exploits, remembering patterns for each character and even some luck. I also remember Saisyu being very easy to defeat, there was an exploit of course, but you could almost guarantee the win against him on the first round, i remember i used Joe against him (i used the FF team), Terry was essential in the Rugal match since for some reason, you could bait him into charge mode so you could land an easy combo. Also and again for some reason, he always tried to dash whenever you did a Power Geyser or with Joe an Screw Upper at a certain distance and if that failed, Andy could lame him out with fireball. Sadly, I could never beat this game with other teams.
Not "dumb"... just "early 90's". Over the late 90's Snk abandoned that Ai programming style. (Great for some people, and a shame for others)
This 90s era of kof I enjoy much more than 2000 and above, everything is based on skill, 99/00/01 upwards got strikers and cancel infinites
I remember spending most of my school meal allowance beating this game in the arcade, with my team Terry, Ryo, Robert. I remember only a few touches the KOF 95 & Samurai Showdown Amakusas Revenge machine. Older players keep telling me these 2 games are a cheat but I enjoyed as those 2 are my favorite.
I like the whole notion of your team standing in the background. Why the hell did they remove that?
The NESTS saga used teams of 4 with the last member being a striker, the Ash saga was a team tag game and I'd ssy there was no time for that in XIII
@@WikiHL But those are not true reasons, in the case of KoF 99-01. You said it yourself that the games were 4v4 but 1 member as a Striker... so that makes the gameplay still a 3v3 in practical terms. So Snk could perfectly have left the teammates like before, that would still work the same way: 2 guys standing on the bg.
And what reinforces the whole thing is KoF 02... which works in the classic system, and still there was no interest in bringing back the teammates on bg.
So the thing is: we dont have the actual reason but it's safe enough to just keep the idea that Snk lost interest in that thing.
The invention of the striker system isnt a real reason. Also Eolith (KoF 02 maker) didnt want to bring it back when they brough back the classic gameplay system. And Snk didnt want to deal with it once again in KoF 13... neither nowadays in KoF 14-15, despite the advantages of implementing that thing in a 3d (compared to 2d sprites).
It was a relevant mechanic in the Orochi Saga. If your lifebar was red and you were in a hold attack, you could mash A+B+C+D for an interrupt attack - but only if they were on-screen. IIRC, you also had to be eating raw damage, not blocking.
@@carlosaugusto9821 By the later games, SNK was already cutting animation frames from characters where they could get away with it. Strikers replaced the gameplay effect of the background teammates, while simultaneously increasing the costs of displaying the rest of a team in the background if the devs had wanted. By the time strikers went away as a game factor, it had been years since we'd seen teammates in the background.
I hated the fact they removed it, it was the best style ever, they removed that with the jumping team member to break off attack during stun, or grabs
That was really fun to see you struggle against busted CPUs. I was laughing hard at the game over sound
If you ever do a marathon stream, you gotta try to go through a whole series' arcade mode on a single life
You lose 10minutes of your life playing SNK games at Level 4+ every hour
Hahaha I remember doing this started on 94 ended at 2003, wasn't easy, all on level 8 Including the unofficial roms, kof98 combo hack/plus being the hardest out of all of them, took me 3 hours plus to beat omega rugal alone
NICEEE!!!! Love the KOF 90's era! specially 98, thats a blast!
I didn’t notice how funny the death screech was until you said something 😭😭 12:18 baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Bruh im crying 💀💀💀💀💀
The reason I love watching you play these is that it is confirmation from my childhood that the computers were cheating. 20 Game Overs from Saisyu and Rugal.
I feel you man, I feel you.
More SNK! Try Art of Fighting 2, every opponent is like a final boss.
You nuts I see🤣, the AOF, FF, SAMSHO AND WORLD HEROES SERIES are like every fighter on level 8 is a boss
I can't even managed to beat the second opponent, i swear
@@PiccoloNamexio snk classic fighting games are hard as nails
They had Art of Fighting at pizza shop near me growing up. I jammed in so many quarters and thought it was a miracle to reach the jogger dude. I died 9/10 to Jack “The Fat Ass” Turner. Yeah I’m still bitter.
@@UstashaMe84 bro I can voice with you here, at the arcades by me we had many classics, samsho1, aof1, fatal fury special, last blade 1, mk1/2, sf1/2, kof94/95, and some other old schoolers.
Man, I miss the days of going into the arcades and enjoying the classics
6:41 well different combos vary on damage, u know that JW
6:54 I think Goro used here a feature unique to KOF 95: you can actually "counter" any attack when you have Max pow with a special move (just like alpha counter in SFA, except you dont lose pow meter). In this case Goro countered with his command grab, cutting any distance since Kyo´s attack reached his guard hence he was able to pull off the counter.
7:04 Benimaru made more damage because it was a C+D attack against Iori´s normal. C+D (also called "power attacks") knocks the opponent down, as you can see Iori was knocked while Beni landed on his feet.
Your editor putting all those deaths at the end. Great.
Lmaooooooooo bruh those screams had me crying.
Same haha.
Even Justin Wong can struggle against the infamous KOF bosses! (he’s human after all)
this game is an audio visual masterpiece. especially with the CD console soundtrack. with a few gameplay tweaks it could have been a top 3 all time game.
p.s. it doesn't count if you use team edit. try again with an official team :P
Kof94 style, yeah it really gives off a different feel
I wish they tweak most of their rereleased neo geo games
I really enjoyed that Ryo death montage, that EAAAAAAAA😩, again and again def made me laugh.
Me too
Gotta admit that was pretty dope. Looking forward to seeing more playthroughs.
I remember never finished this game in arcade. Just do it years later on Neogeo.
Plus there were many fistfights over this game at arcade in my region (I think it was because you can lame opponent out with full-meter absurd damage.) so I prefered to sit at the corner and play SFA quietly.
Welcome to snk boss syndrome Justin deal with it with all cheap bosses 😈
KOF 95: The King of Damage
SNK was definitely on a mission to make "CHALLENGING" games. Gotta use the cheese.
Yes, The king of fighters still hard to defeat and complete.
Not really other then saisyu and goenitz if you know what A+B can do and offensive enough all bosses easy as they cheap until igniz which is playless character not SNK at lvl 8 and im not good at it either funny part orochi probably easiest one when hes last boss for general story
I've always been trash at this series because all I literally do is use my capcom fighter skills in them which is good enough to beat on scrubs but that's about it.
I never knew teammates could jump in and stop grabs. Really cool
Stop grabs and cut the opponent when you're stunned.
If Rugal never took half your life with the Genocide Cutter, you've never played kof 95. xD
The damage you do (and receive I think) is bigger when your Power is maximum. Also, when your life at the end is titillating you do more damage.
This game is brutal.
Now try to end it with pre stablished china team to get that special ending credits.
To get the song Athena sings he would need to beat the game on the neogeo cd, ps1 and sega saturn since the neogeo arcade doesn't have it.
@@HellTantrumbull I play the PS1 port doesn't that have the arranged soundtrack?
@@StarForceBelmont321 Yes, the ps1 uses the arranged music.
@@HellTantrumbull apart from 99 I heard everything after 95 on PS1 was God awful
@@StarForceBelmont321 You mean in terms of gameplay? of all the KoF on ps1 the only one I found that turned out good was KoF98. it's still missing frames and has the typical lower sound quality but from a play point SNK actually did a good job of porting it to the system while the other games ranged from decent to bad.
I like how family friendly you content is. (no naughty words) Liked and subscribed.
Thanks to SNK for their great games!
This was so fun to watch :D More SNK game playthroughs would be awesome!
Last Blade 2 on highest difficulty boss AI is insane.
Hahahah yeah, kohryu, he was a spam, those protectiles were always a problem to get over. Try beating Dio in level 8 world heroes perfect🤣
Lmao, do KoF '96, Goenitz is a living Hell
Hard, but not harder than this
JHK then crHK and repeat the sequence to win against him.
I swear I remember some of these auto-losing you if the timer ran out against the last boss, regardless of who was ahead...
Best part is the dying cut scene 🤣😅🤣 lol... I still have all the old KOFs for playstation 2 might play to see Mai dye and yell "ANDEEEEE!!!" 😅
KOF "That did mad damage" 95
Maaan from 12:14 to 13:43 was hilarious with all the deaths. I damn near spit out my drink. Great vids but you should go back even further to KoF 94
The worst part is losing all of your guys to the first half of the boss 😭😭😭
There’s a few “standard” tricks you’re not aware perhaps.
1) For Iori, back youself to your own corner, throw a fireball and wait for CPU to jump, then you can air juggle him till death (2 hits, pause, 2 hits).
2) for Kyo, slowly push CPU to corner, you can do the Dodge + Fireball kick twice (light kick then heavy kick), basically it’s an infinite combo as well.
3) when your power bar is full, you can “counter” when you do any special move while still in your block animation.
With the above, you can beat level 8 easily.
It makes us feel good to see you react like the rest of us and yell, "the game cheating, man!!!"
lol that was so fun to watch I can't even emphasize it enough, the whole "Yaaaah" thing had me rolling on the floor in tears🤣 Breakers /Breakers revenge has one of those hell sent Bosses , a very fun game
Noti gang. Can't wait for kof 2002 um
I remember when i was a kid, see one guy sweeping all the levels and rugal with one coin after he requested to the arcade owner to set the arcade highest difficult. Today i see how good he was.
Eu joguei muito esse jogo quando foi lançado. Os fliperamas da época eram cheios, e ninguém conseguia terminar o jogo. Rugal foi era um pesadelo.
I like that Justin Wong talks about Justin Wong in the 3rd person. That's so Justin Wong of him, Justin Wong would approve.
the damage during guard cancel is unreal. ryo's dp deals 80% damage. benimaru's super attack deals 100% LOL
2:51 walks forward and does a charge motion :D (same as Guile's flash kick) classic AI
95! Classic!!! This game takes quarters and if I remember correctly, was actually designed to do so.
J you should give the recent Million Arthur a try. I think you'd enjoy it.
Also KOF 11 boss Magaki is a problem.
The computer reacts, guards, punishes, counter, or does combos.
Justin: Oh this is stupid.
The computer just walks straight into his fireballs.
Justin: Yeah, don't block.
More like this especially the 90's 3d ones. I love the struggle.
We used to play the PS1 version of 95, it had terrible loading times but the music was mad awesome and still is jamming. 🤣
If a guy who won several fighting game tournaments still struggles like that when playing KoF then i dont feel so bad when i do it too. 🤣👍
This was one of the first fighters I played back in the 90's. My university had this game in the Arcade room. Using a roll of quarters it was expensive to try and beat this game. It makes me feel good to know that the great JW had a hard time beating this game as well. 👍
Enjoyed the vid! Love to see more classic KOF runs.
You can call me crazy, masochist or whatever, but KOF '95 still remains my favourite game in the series.
Don’t worry Justin. We’ve all had our no-no’s assaulted by snk at one time or another
The moments with ryo’s “ahh!!” LUL
The hardest boss in any fighting game, and I've played a lot of fighting games, is Arcana Heart 3: Love Max's boss. You fight her as either Trial 10 in trial mode or as the last boss of Score Attack. I believe it's harder in trial mode. There's like one decent way to beat her but it requires a certain character.
I beat her with Lilica after.....56 retries? She's nuts.
Amazing!!!!! This is gold! Omega Rugal one of the Hardest bosses from KOF series to beat. I had trouble with Orochi kof97 and Igniz kof2001. :D but sooo fun!!!! Thank you for picking up on the kof series! Hope to see you around kof 15!
You should try to play kof 11.
Magaki playing Bullet Hell all day
'95 was awesome and this really brings back memories. Just wait until you bring in guard canceling from MAX and it takes it to a whole new level.
holy cow this is just level 4 difficulty
I also recommend trying Kaneko Fighting games! They made Shogun Warriors, Blood Warrior (set it to level 8 difficulty), Power Athlete, and the Jackie Chan arcade game that it actually exists. The Jackie Chan game has a more SNK feel to it is than Mortal Kombat. Not to mention the high damage…
There’s also another fighting game by Kaneko called Kageki but it’s more of an isometric pit fighter style not a 2d style. And it’s also really hard and I recommend the arcade version, the mega drive version is pure garbage. It’s the worst port in the entirely of the Kaneko library. (Port was co developed by Sages Creation)
It took me many tries to complete kof 95 I literally cried for it
That was probably the idea. So Snk devs succeeded.
I held you to it and you delivered. You are the man, Justin!
Everytime i hear "KOKYUKEN RYU OUGI" I lose my shit !!! Even when dey don't say it, soon as i see the move i yell it out myself n go crazy. Dat move be hype af.
I about spit out my water when he said “Terry from Smash”.
IORI IS AWESOME EVER SINCE "95
thanks JW
Watching Justin lose vs the computer makes me feel less bad about getting my ass wopped... LOL
All those times you made it to rugal with one character and lose then when you make it with three you only need one character 😂
On Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on SNES whenever I get to the ninja boss with one hit left I die. Then when I replay and get to him with full or near full health I beat him perfectly lol
I would love it if you went through the entire KOF series like this. I really enjoyed this and laughed my ass off at your frustration lol
Please play arcana hearts 3 and fight the true final boss, Parace L'sia. It's near impossible despite her low health.
lmaooooo yeah King in endless mode for me, been playing 2kUM alottt lately
learning combos in this game is goddamn fun but fighting Zero? ive never been so pissed in my life
Probably the most difficult KOF to finish without cheating. Play KOF 96 in the hardest mode.
Justin: Well, today i woke up wanting to play king of fighters 95.
Sponge Bob locurtor: One eternity later.... 😅
I know this pain playing it on ps1. This was my introduction to snk bosses. At the age of 6.
Young Geese Howard in Art of Fighting 2......he calls your name Justin!
I was playing KoF 95 today and was looking for arcade help because I was getting bodied... This video didn't help, but it made me feel better. Thanks!
I think of this game as the alpha 2 of KOF. Great art, great music and it Introduced a lot of cool characters. I play through this game at least 2 or 3 times a year.
Your commentary in this video is pretty funny. :'-) the fade to white when you k.o. the last guy kills me..
So many "Waaah!" at the end! I just roflcopter 🤣🤣🤣
KOF '95 has the shortest health bar among all KOF games.
While having maximum POW, I managed to do Hidern's moon slasher instant counter when blocking Kim's kick.
That move instakilled Kim's 100% health.
It never does 100% damage used to do that all the time. The bug is worse in kof 94
13:39 I knew it and I was like now Rugal is gonna make his mirror attack !
I understand Justin. Just wait until you see him again in 2000. Abject pain.
Well, some games with difficult bosses that I remember now would be: Fatal Fury 2 and 3, Art of Fighting 1 and 2, KoF XI, Last Blade 1 and 2, Kaiser Knuckle, Kizuna Encounter, Rage of the Dragons, Dragoon Might, try those if you want to suffer like with Rugal 95 c:
Only General from Kaiser Knuckle and maybe AOF 2 are difficult the rest are easy
The general is at a higher level, but Omega Rugal is easy with some characters too.
"fair" you can hear the SNK gods mocking laughter at the thought.
KOF 95, the game of what brought us the best character in the game, Iori Yagami! Ever since he came into the KOF Series, everyone loves him and especially his design. Hell, even the man who made Smash Bros adore Iori's design, too!
