I played both one and two and im a big fan of it, but the third one is a disgrace. It is unplayable atm

I personally waited 20 years for it... Didn't buy this one though.
I own the hard copies of the original, the second, Cataclysm and Deserts of Kaarak. Will not buy this, will not accept it for free, it's not Homeworld anymore.
When the Fig campaign's trailer was announced I was so hyped I could not focus on my work afterwards.
My wife and I bit the bullet and saved as much as possible so that I can upgrade my pc.
After the demo and as more plot cutscenes got released, I lost hope.
I played every HW game and I recommend Cataclysm, for me it is my favourite in the series, then HW1 and DoK.
HW2 was okay for me, it is not bad but is least favourite in the series.
Atleast I can play almost anything now so I guess that is a upside but HW3 can stay where it is.
HW1 and Cataclysm/Emergence are absolute classics.
Deserts of Karak is a change, but mostly good.
HW 2 has issues, but is mostly missed potential.
HW3 is worse than The Beast, at least The Beast doesn't pretend to be rightous!
The series should have died at Cataclysm, when our bois became beast slayers and were not forgotten by canon as much as they ironically call it.
Homeworld had DEI... what? No wonder I didn't buy it, heard the fallout but didn't know it had DEI. Well that explains it, well done publishers earned yourself a no sale.
Disgrace is a good word for something I absolutely loved over 20 years ago. I didn't even want to finish HW3.

You would think Saint's Row would be enough to see how things like this go, but apparently is not. I guess is gonna get worse before it gets better. Im sorry for the good people working hard for these games.
You really should give the OG HW saga a spin or at least HW1 and 2. Cataclysm because of Blizzard had to change to Emergence or something later. It was a 3rd party studio license title but was later declared cannon as a story not involving the main characters in between HW 1 and 2 and added some insight of Kushan politics and society after HW1. I liked them all as each expanded on the systems of the prior games. Deserts of Karhak was a prequel to HW1 that was pretty good expanding HW1's intro movie lore as a ground version of the game and the shortest in the franchise until HW3 which I think the record is 4~5 hours to beat that I have heard of so far.
HW3 looked like it had a lot of potential with a lot of features requested by the community that still mods and plays the originals, but you can tell they changed the story late in development and left some holes, illogical plot points, and half-baked systems they didn't have time to finish or add levels beyond the ones that showcase each of the mechanics making the story pacing bad and contrived. A serious let down for sure but there were fragments I liked. By the end of HW2 it was already getting into mysticism of their religion drawn from ancient artifacts of previous races the hyperspace tech was created by. They could use but not replicate the artifacts making them rare war prizes the various galactic civilizations fought over. They didn't completely know how exactly hyperspace, or the gates worked so what happened in HW3 is plausible other than how they played it out and ended it. It could have been a good mystery and twist but by mission 3-4 it went to crap pretty fast. Imogen same thing. You could tell they had a good idea and arc from her initial scenes then sidelined it for their retcon mess.
Well damn, I had bought the game and haven't been able to play through the last week, having played less than 7 hours actually... So I've only gotten 4-5 missions in.... Some of the missions are interesting, but the controls are definitely less intuitive than the previous games and things respond slower...
Guess I'll finish my play through, but hearing this is disappointing. And an object lesson. Even for games with simple formulas and that you would expect would be immune to this non-sense, even they are not safe....
I had definitely noticed they re-did Imogen S'Jet's scenes and thought it was a distinctly unattractive model they replaced the 2D rendition with... I had chosen to ignore it as I wasn't here really for the character models. I just didn't think the characters needed to be done 3D. The 2D intermission scenes were always part of the Homeworld aethetic... Guess this falls under the uglification of female characters category though... smh
Singleplayer has cool missions ,story not to my liking but not horrible.

The Homeworld series is in my top 5 ,so I'm just happy i got a new hw game even if it is a bit ruff atm.

Girl bosses never get a character arc, they just are, but real stories are about somebody learning through adversity, not just being a mary sue
Somehow these cowards, the pretenders and the activists are given free rein and its causing a collapse in the gaming industry and peoples interests. Even Indie games are being forced to conform to these DEI rules or their publishers won't release their game.
To the DEI demons, if you are so talented, you think your diverse mind is right and your ideas are so great , why not create your own franchise ? Don't lurks in the dark and ruin other normal franchise.
jrr martin is the epitome of a lazy author. you would have to not know history to not see parallels.
lets make games about politics because gamers are the problem, sadly they are also the audience with the buying power, use your power use your money, don't buy into being punished in a generalisation

Where is the evidence dei ruined this game? Acco only showed one picture that was remade and imo it looks better in the remake, other than that there was no evidence lol, and you cant just show the steam user charts and say "dei did this" imo acco proved nothing here
