One of the best tier list I’ve seen that was made purely based on what a reviewer thinks about the frags. Took me back to the good old days You’ll have to get your nose on the the house of Papillon
Superb format, I’ve really enjoyed watching, and great little overviews of the houses! Thank you :) Lutens, Tom Ford Private Blend, Malle, and Amouage are definitely "S" tier for me too-the perfumery for the soul.
appreciate it although I am too poor to afford most of the list, still I love Mancera, as the value is pretty good for us common folks that not really at that level that we can appreciate high level perfumery. but i agree that the top 3 Mancera you mention just doesnt click to me, I prefer Aoud Lemon Mint and Vetiver Sensual
Very fine tier list. I hope you try more of Bortnikoff frags soon because they are very much worth it if you’re into quality real ouds without being real limited like Areej le Dore. I would only put Acqua di Parma and Tauer at A. Tauer has crazy good value for money frags imo and his creations are long lasting and very unique smelling and Acqua di Parma has crazy good selection for summer frags or even signatures for the whole year and they are not that expensive.
Half of the brands I either never heard of or didn't get to try. But the half I tried or owned, I agree with your ranking of them 100%. And im with you on Roja being like Creed when it comes to lies.
The Godfather of fragcom. Since 2009, wow, i remember watching you as far back as 2011. Oud Wood 100ml was my first expensive purchase, and that was 250 back in 2012.

Any thoughts on Ex Nihilo? The more I smell the more I think they may be able to hit the C tier. Uniqueness may not be the best but I feel that they do their part. Overpriced? Yes, but still really really solid releases. Midnight Special, Amber Sky, 10099 Wonders, Blue talisman, ect
Guerlain, Kilian and Serge Lutens are probably my three favorite niche brands. Kilian gets some hate, but I love a lot of their fragrances. Back to Black, Single Malt, Angels' Share, Straight to Heaven Extreme, etc. Solid tier list, Marc.
I have a hard time imagining a world where Tom ford is above creed but this is all subjective. I love your Chanel. You actually started me on most of these brands maybe 10 years ago. Sadly most releases since then pale in comparison to the pre 2015 releases.
I’m curious as to where you’d rank other designer private lines after ranking Tom Ford so highly. Do you have any thoughts on the private lines of Armani, Chanel, Dior, and others and where they square up against niche brands? I am a fan of Francois Demachy and his florals, but I personally overvalue inoffensive public wearability.
Dope idea, this is a great direction for you. One suggestion for you, you could position things in the higher and lower ends of the tiers, better to worse in that tier would go from left to right (if you want to get more accurate) could be cool 🤘
I hope you will have the chance of putting your nose on Lorenzo Villoresi perfume house, one of my favourite ones. Really happy with the brands in the S tier list, well deserved!
We love lists videos, YOUR lists, not just any lists. You can tell from the numbers on this video, Guru!...6K views in 48hrs!... Numbers don't lie!!!❤😊
I’d love to hear more about PDM E tier. No love for althair? Herod? Carlisle? Layton? I get you can’t be a fan of all of them, but none of these crack anything for you? No hate, but Aqua Di Parma and Nishane over PDM. It’s just a littttle bit confusing. Not enough explanation and I’d like one
Demands an explanation lol. Althair I have a video on which you can go see how I feel. They other two have no smelled. No PDM has even made me even think that it's even remotely in the same price point, quality as many on this list. It's not even worthy to be on this list, it should actually be F tier. ADP is storied Italian brand, such rich history, they have been unique for a very long while giving classic italian scent profiles that are rich and well blended. Nishane have a few unique scents that blow PDM out of the water, just Afrika Olifant from Nishane destroys the whole PDM library that is full of clones. Don't be confused, PDM was made to sell, and I mean the owner made the brand, copied other scents, paid influencers to make the brand what it was and then make a quick buck and sell the brand to a sucker. PDM has zero brand identity, when you google PDM on fragrance boards it's known as a clone brand that is overpriced. Explained.
Great content. I really enjoyed it. The list looks good. Even E list has good company. I might make a few moves. I'm baised for sure. I like the london houses just a tidbit more. You got my favs in S tier so I'm happy about that. My feelings are okay for now.
I still love Ursa from Tiziana Terenze, but you're right ☛ Glad to see Lutens still hanging on! Amouage price hikes were a bit of a shock to me. Thanks for the fun watch 👌
I was going to be critical when I first opened the video and saw you included Tom Ford was going to be included. My mind immediately wondered why not Guerlain (I couldn't immediately recognize their logo), but you did include that as well. Still, based on your logic the Chanel Exclusifs' should be hear along with Dior (Hermes too?). Then, as I'm watching and seeing all of these hyped brands being featured (you may have the teenagers arguing for hours) all of these other houses came to mind: Beaufort, Nicolai, Masque Milano, Francesca Bianchi, Andrea Maack, Jacques Fath, Jovoy, Jeroboam, Aaron Terrence Huges, Bois 1920, etc. I know you can't include everything. And, your knowledge of some of these houses may be limited (though I know you've done a number of videos of Beaufort, that's how I learned of this house - I also recently purchased my first bottle of Beaufort--Terror and Magnificient). Still, there's a lot to go. That said, I did enjoy the video.
Big respect for these picks, but I’ll just say that Guerlain, FM, and Serge Lutens, absolutely deserve S, but really have been somewhat shaky in the past few years. Edit: I’ll quibble that I think xerjoff should be a A or B
4000+ fragrance geez man. I have around slightly above 100 and I thought I had a problem 😂. More power to you man do what makes you happy. Btw I respect your honesty and brass to have your own opinion. For my virgin nose, I still like somewhat appealing houses as I have not had the acquired taste yet. But I’ve enjoyed mancera, amouge, xerjoff and le labo. Tom ford and guerlain are solid as well but I don’t know if they fit the niche classification but I could be wrong. Going on that borderline classification I also enjoy Lalique.
Honestly great list, I do think Roja should be higher and Clive should be one below Roja… PDM and Byredo should be C with xerjoff… finally, bond no.9 in F…
I bought a few Rojas at discounters. Thosre prices are outrageous. Discounters make Roja worth it IMO.Have your tried Diaghilev? That fragrance is really something else. Probably the best fragrance I've ever smelled. Way too expensive, though 😅but I'll get it one day.
Interesting video and perspective. It allowed me to discover some brands. As far as the brands that I know; I agree with some and disagree with others. It would be interesting if you could do a tier list based on notes. Like a tier list for leather or oud fragrances.
Oh no, God forbid you disagree with him on anything! He will call you a shill for liking something he doesn't like, and say you are part of the free bottle brigade as well!
lets go get them again! Just started can't wait to watch this! First like then watch :) EDIT: Finally Parfum D Empire I am talking about that brand last 10 years to my friends where did it go? Nobody mentions it anymore thanks for bringing it up!
Honestly, it would be hard for me to move anything on that list. Maybe switch places of Nishane and MFK, just because the former I enjoy more and the latter I find tad too one dimensional. Also, I think You were reeeeally generous to PDM, which is basically an overpriced clone brand- pleasant, but You've smelled it before and done better and cheaper

I don't get it when people hype Xerjoff and PDM etc too, they were very similar to designers we had back then from the brands like Thierry Mugler for a fraction of the price!

I think you forgot or overlooked some. Parfums de Nicolai is a solid B , Histoires de Parfums same, if not A, maybe even Lubin as a solid C. And I don't know why Chanel ,Dior and YSL and Cartier wouldn't be next to Guerlain. They have an equally legendary line of perfumery ( maybe Cartier is just an A ) , just because they make some other stuff outside perfumes doesn't take away the quality of their perfumery. Van Cleef and Arpels also could be a C
Nice combination of scents and very good classification... but one perfume house should be higher, in my opinion.. Xerjoff - really deserves more appreciation
Creed should be much lower on tier E for the synthetic perfumes they produce and the inconsistency in their quality. That one is really puzzling to me. Also all the more puzzling that you rank Creed at the same level as Bortnikoff, which is most definitely top tier. Heeley and Roja should exchange places.
Sad to see Aktinson's in S-tier, there are a few I own that I like a lot (Oud Save the King, The Odd Fellow's Bouquet, 24 All Bond Street, or The Other side of the Oud), the long and strange titles don't help. However I also think a lot of their releases are pretty weak, either non-special scent profiles or very abysmal performance, which is fine inherently, but for the price it is very frustrating. Guerlain in S-tier is always good to see however
Well, this was a surprising video. Never thought you'd do a video like this😅.❤❤👏🏼👏🏼 Several of my personal favorite brands are missing. I don't know if that is good or bad😅
@robes08 The once i would love to hear your opinion on is: My favorite 4. And my S - B tier: "Zaharoff" S tier. never misses for my tastes. "Hima Jomo" S tier. I've lately been very impressed by their fragrances. Essentially the seasonal series. "Imaginary Authors" A tier. (have great, artistic fragrances). "Alûstre" B Tier. Several magnificent releases. Essentially "In The Shadows of Bergamot" has my heart. These would be my top 4. Mind, I haven't had a lot of experience with a lot of houses. So most on your list I'm unfamiliar with. Which is a great place to find new and interesting brands (new to me). ❤️❤️👏👏
I found out today that the non Canadien UA-camrs don't know how to say Guerlain. I had to take this video to my PC and look as close as I could to see the name being pronounced, and I finally picked out the word "Ideal" in the flurry of speech that's incomprehensible to my central US Anglo ears. So Guerlain is S tier? Sounds right!!!
Don't upset me, as I was already in a bad mood when I pressed play! I'll let you know if I've turned greener in 50 mins.........OK, 50 mins later & I'm still the same shade of green. By & large I agree. A couple up & couple down a tier maybe. I certainly agree that Guerlain are at the top of the pyramid in a Godly tier all of their own.
This almost makes up for half a decade of no seasonal lists. Almost. I would recommend trying more Roja stuff. The prices can approach reasonable on secondary and the quality is better than most. Like Creed, it’s popular to shit on Roja but the quality isn’t really matched by most houses and, like you, I’ve tested thousands of scents over the decades.
I always feel like comparing brands is redundant. Every brand listed has something worth smelling. There are some great Atkinson’s fragrances and some horrible Amouage fragrances.
As much as i hate the f.b.b...the possibly fake nose listings...and the extreme price.... the only thing i totally disagree with is the roja in the D tier with tom ford in the S tier. Amouage in the S tier has the exact same fbb and extreme pricing, though i love them very much. At least the christopher chong era stuff when they took chances. Creed is in the A tier for example...theyve been cheapening fragrances ingredients and increasing prices for a while now. I dunno, alot of what you said i agree with but i feel like jokingly asking you where roja hurt you lol. just conversing, ill still watch basically all of your videos haha. Hope you have a good holiday!
To be fair I really gave Amouage the S tier because of the masterpieces of Epic Man, Memoir Man, Interlude Man, Jubilation XXV Man which were all before the FBB. Roja I've smelled several and only two have spoken to me so the low score is justified within my journey. That may changes in a few years. Thank you for the support !
..Sunshine Man, Beach Hut Man, Overture Man, Interlude Black Iris Man, Lyric Man, Gold Man, Myths Man, Reflection 45, Rose Incense, Royal Tobacco, Silver Oud. Amouage has more masterpieces then any other house. They don’t even come close!
Never clicked on a video so fast in my life!! Are you gonna do a designer one too?
I can, if people like this comment. I'll get it done.

“Everything gets you compliments.” This!
Out of curiosity, where would you rank Hermessence?
I'm going to make a Designer Prive list hopefully in the future.
Great vid mark!
Guerlain in S-tier is always good to see however
What do you think about Argos and Mind Games ?
Do a fragcom youtuber tier list next haha
The F tier would be too crowded. It would not be possible.
Nice video! My only disagreement is Andy Tauer. That is a “S” tier for me!
Well, this was a surprising video. Never thought you'd do a video like this😅.❤❤👏🏼👏🏼 Several of my personal favorite brands are missing. I don't know if that is good or bad😅
If you have time list all the brands missed, a part two could be in the works.
@robes08 The once i would love to hear your opinion on is:
My favorite 4. And my S - B tier:
"Zaharoff" S tier. never misses for my tastes.
Tom Ford is not niche and overpriced as hell for the quality of product they provide. None of their “Oud” fragrances even contain Oud.
Yeah his ranking sucks LOL. I know its subjective but he’s all over the place
S tier all day!
Happy we didn't get you into Hulk mode. Much love!
Now you have to do another about..if you buy buy just one out of all these niche houses..wich will it be!
Heads will roll
I have similar ratings, although Amouage and Tom Ford recently dropped a rank for me ;)
lets go Marc!!💪💪💪
Only vintage Amouage is S Tier
Maybe Guerlain
Frederic Malle and Serge Lutens also great
Tom Ford was great just as Creed. Slumberhouse too obscure
The Opus Line is terrific ... IMHO
@@ToriZealot I love Royal Tobacco and Silver Oud
@@wutru3142 Yeah!!!

Frederic Malle and Guerlain are definitely the top of the class!
