Really enjoyed this, your passion comes through and it is easy to see why you appreciate WHAT Amouage stands for and their history. Interesting placement of a few of the scents. Will be watching to see what additional changes occur as creative direction moves forward. I agree, Overture was C.C. taking a bow, to me it is a mind blowing masterpiece.
Your ability to deliver insight after insight is incredible. I wasn't expecting to verify my recent back up bottle purchase of Beloved Man, which is made in the UK and also has that weird sticker on the bottom I've never seen before. My more recent made in Oman bottle looks more typical. Sorry for spamming your videos lately btw!
@RamseytheRam thanks Ramsey! Side question - Amouage is my fav brand by far, and I'm looking expand into other niche/artisanal brands. I'm already familiar with TF, MFK, and FM. What are some of you other favorites?
Got my popcorn ready and loved the video! Amouage was and still is my most influential house. Everything about Amouage represents excellence from their high quality ingredients to the countless MASTERCLASS perfumers in their portfolio (Bertrand Duchaufour, Karine Vinchon-Spehner, Cecile Zerokian, Alberto Morillas, Pierre Negrin, Elisw Benat, and many more). My first EVER niche purchases were two Amouage bottles after watching AC from Smells Good reviews - Dia and Memoir Man. I was literally BLOWN AWAY at first sniff for both frags and will never forget the transformative feeling I experienced. Since then, I'm fortunate enough to have acquired the entire: Amouage Man, Library Collection (Pre-repackaging with new bottles), and sprinkled with a few Amouage Woman bottles in my collection. I personally LOVED what C. Chong did for the house and happily blind bought everything he put out during his era as well as before his time. As a true supporter of Amouage, I've continued blind buying their new releases under R. Salmon. Still have my "feelers" out for Salmon and the direction he's taking the house, but I definitely feel he's playing it safer. Still waiting for Salmon to release something truly unique and daring, but patiently keeping my fingers crossed. Keep up the great work and stay safe! - Jose from San Diego
Thank you Jose.. and what a beautiful read because I feel exactly the same way... they really are a transformative brand as you so elequently put it.... there is everything before you smell Amouage and everything after 🍻
@@sparklyunicorn5431 Hey! I own Memoir Woman, Lyric Woman, Crimson Rocks, and Material. All just gorgeous scents 👌 Will most likely be adding Epic Woman to the collection soon. Not sure where you currently are in your fragrance journey, but would definitely reccomend exploring this great house if you want to experience bold, daring, and unique parfumery 😎
@@josenewman4442 Yes absolutely! I've tried Lyric and Memoir and really enjoyed them. I own Portrayal and Lilac Love, but will definitely get more. They are my fave house! I love unique, powerful scents. Thank you for sharing!
I worked and lived in the Middle East for 13 years and used to also spend a lot of time in Muscat. Unfortunately this was before I got into fragrances. My biggest regret is having not visited Amouage headquarters there.
Boom! One Take Ramsey. That was so enjoyable. Also, I’m far too impatient to wait for the “real cold” to wear Overture Man Our southern winters are too mild and short. I start Oct 1.
Hi. After 1 year i could not stand, Figment have Coling me and love started, but for me at home 😂😂😂Stink Like hell, Figment is true beast performing perfume. 😅😂🎉
OPUIS VI perfumer was Jacques Flori. This is/was an absolutely wondrous list, brimming over with well thought out content, insightful info and delivered as always with your unique passionate presentation. Your soul-stirring joy is infectious. One of the best Family Portraits you've done; and then you ranked it too?! (wow) Thanks for all you do! With over 300 comments, 26,000+ views and I was the 680th "Like", I think it's safe to say you are no longer a "little" channel. I truly love seeing you and your audience grow (7,000+ subs!!) and seeing others discover you makes me so happy and proud for you and ultimately hopeful for the state of the Fragcomm in general. Carry on my fragrant f(r)iend; and as always, smell swell & be well! xox PS: I am studying this vid rather intently as I am going to begin exploring all those Amouage samples & decants that I got last month; not to mention Mum had a rather large collection of Amouage (larger than mine even) as folks would just throw extra stuff in my packages and swap parcels "For Mom" because she was so sweet and when they found out she collected and how genuine & kind she was ( a lot like you, she would have loved you I bet) the generosity flowed like water... what a wonderful community we Fragheads have-if only everyone was like us the world would be a much better (and immensely sweeter smelling) place to be!!
What an absolute pleasure to watch. I've been on an Amouage buying frenzy the past few weeks and have seen my collection of Amouage fragrances grow from 6 bottles that I've had for about the past 8 years to the 24 bottles I now have. Thus far the only one I'm kinda having a bad feeling about is Enclave as it appears to a very screechy synthetic-driven drydown that is absolutely putrid. I'm hoping & praying it just needs to macerate for a few months and will then give it a couple more full wears in autumn before deciding whether it's a keeper or not. Anyhow, your ranking of Amouage fragrances was VERY entertaining and full of perspective that I really appreciate. I'd be hard pressed to rank my collection of Amouage fragrances but I concur whole-heartedly on quite a number of your rankings. I guess push come to shove I'd rank Jubilation XXV Man, Epic Man, Interlude Man, Overture Man, Memoir Man, Journey Man, Gold Man, Myths Man, Bracken Man, Portrayal Man in my top 10. At least that's how I'm feeling currently and this will undoubtedly shift a little as some of the other bottles I've recently acquired are introduced to me. Thanks so much for all the time & effort you put into the presentation -- I will definitely be mindful of your insights as I explore the recent haul of Amouage fragrances I recently acquired.
It's a pleasure to have Ram... I really do... in my case, I appreciate it a lot. His descriptions are so good and real that you can feel real through his descriptions... I adore him!! Absolutamente!! 💯
Well I would say interlude is somewhat similar to Antaeus because of the similarity between thyme and oregano and the fact that they’re both quite rare notes. I would say interlude is the best amouage I’ve smelt too. It’s interesting how close my taste is to yours but I’m amazed that you don’t really like opium pour homme because I do.
@ cool! I’d love to try that but it’s probably too expensive. I found your channel through your max gavarry video but it wasn’t until I tried Antaeus that I started watching all of your videos. My favourite scents are probably d and g pour homme, opium ph and Antaeus but I would say Antaeus still beats all of them. It was pretty much the last Chanel I tried but I still haven’t tried pour monsieur. There’s just something about Antaeus.
@@RamseytheRam after buying Antaeus I realised the first tester I had tried had a silver spray so I did compare them. The silver one has stronger bass notes? The silver is slightly better, the new one has a stronger rose note I’d say. Would you say a 50ml Antaeus would be more likely to have a silver spray or not necessarily? Have you smelt k intense by dolce and gabbana? If you haven’t try it and think of it as the first fragrance they made since they started production in house and the saffron note is pretty amazing I would say. You might like it. I haven’t smelt fetish pour homme but they seem a little similar. Maybe do a review on it. I’d like to know what you think.
@DiscolorBlind I hate K Intense lol But the silver sprayer is just a specific timeframe...so they made 50ml 100ml and 200ml in silver sprayers I believe
@ lol yeah I thought you would. I think the use of saffron is great. I think it’d have been better with no citrus note but maybe not. I hate the k line though not the intense what saffron fragrance that are available and easy to find would you suggest?
Oh my......settling in for this. You said something in an earlier video that echoed my sentiments regarding Amouage (maybe not in these later years...not sure). It was something akin to blind buying Amouage because you know what you are getting. I blind bought Myths because I wanted to see what they did....it did not disappoint (but you must understand what you are getting....it is out there....way out there). Lately I have been thinking of what has been lost (in perfumery)....and Amouage has kept the innovation alive while incorporating pieces of the past. Going forward, I am not sure, but their existing portfolio deserves respect...in my opinion. My current Amouage = XXV...Interlude....Dia...Memoir....Myths...Journey.
Sunshine man smells perfect and happy out of the sprayer but once applied, it goes a wrong direction to my nose. It is too itchy and it screams. Eau Noire is more polished and gourmand.
The only full bottle of Amouage that i had was Sunshine. My favorite is Jubilation but they are available only as big 100ml bottle, quite expensive also. I would buy if the 50ml bottle was available.
Amazing list, would be great to hear you talk about the current formulations. I know it’s some effort to get the samples but would be super interesting, at least your top 5.
I give zero F’s about most reviewers’ ranked videos based solely on their personal opinions alone which is the vast majority. You add so much more background information, history, and comparisons that is so much more valuable. I very much appreciate what you do here! I made the same mistake with Boundless being a tobacco lover myself. It’s nice, but it’s not Amouage. And if it IS Amouage, who they want to be today, then it’s vintage bottles only for me going forward.
Thanks man... i feel the same way about the house going forward... except I already own all the vintages I want 😂😂😂 However I do want a bottle of that Silver Oud that is the best "modern" Amouage I have sniffed & it is full bottle worth but 500 bucks is just to steep 🤦♂️
@@RamseytheRam come to think of it, the reason I don’t have the budget right now is because I just blind bought Diaghilev based on your reviews. 😝 No regrets!
Awesome job on this video. Amouage is such a deep dive into perfumery, I can see what you mean about smelling Interlude Man and then wanting to know all there is to know about fragrances. I bought Interlude Man a few years ago, and like you mentioned, I wear it in the summer indoors AC blowing the whole time, so it works out for me, not too many sprays though. I also just purchased epic woman, hearing it was fitting for men. Reflection man and Epic Man will be hearing from me very soon thanks to you. Keep up the great work man!!
Thank you so much for watching & commenting Do report back and let me know what you think of Epic & Reflection Man I have videos about both fragrances on the channel 💪🐏
nice perspective from someone that has way more experience than i do haha aside from a couple outliers on the bottom of your list that i like a lot personally, like: boundless -- i don't care too much about the mass-appeal factor you mention since it does straight up just smell good and the best of its archetype that i've found. and i prefer it to comparable frags like enigma, its a bit smoother to me. and black iris as well -- but i think thats because i just love orris haha. but probably i just don't think the interludes are so far apart and i do enjoy all 3 ( maybe 53 the least since i do appreciate the sharpness of the original a ton and i have the least experience with it just from samples) aside from those your top 10 is pretty agreeable and i wish i could try a lot of the discontinued ones you touch on, ive only tried myths and loved it, i wish it stayed on their rotation :( such a gothic and brooding power to it that is just so characteristic to me
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch & comment... hope you get to smell more of the brand from back in the day when Chong was creative director 😊
@@RamseytheRam definitely going to be on the lookout for decants, also for the feminine-aimed offerings as well since I admittedly ignored them for a while when I shouldn't have
This was by far the best ranking and discussing of most Amouage Fragrances. I will remember that video and watch it from time to time, so much to learn from. I own, Beach Hut Man, Interlude Man, Sunshine Man, Journey Man and ….Myths Man! so far. I like Bracken Man and tested it for one month on my visit to Thailand. Day time I always wear Beach Hut over 25 C and in the evenings Bracken Man.
Really enjoyed the video! I've never tried an Amouage and wasn't really interested in them even with all the hyping of some of their offerings but hearing more in depth about a lot more of their offerings makes it a much more appealing sounding brand. Maybe I'll sample some of them soon to try them out but as always really enjoyed the in depth reflections of the fragrances.
Thanks so much for the feedback & if you do get a chance to get your nose on them I would love it if you came back and gave us a fill report of what you thought 🙏 Thanks for watching & commenting my friend 🍻
@@RamseytheRam Of course! And it is definitely in the works next time I do a sample haul I'm going to be looking into Interlude, Jubilation, and maybe a few others that sounded interesting!
Well, what a passionately informative discussion and reveal of one of my favorite fragrance houses, the great Amouage! Thank you! I have a few …can’t afford too many, but wanted to ask you two things: 1. Are there any Amouage you could recommend as a signature scent, -I have and wear often Bracken Man; in the winter, a go-to is Journeyman. I guess Reflection-M could fit the bill, but unfortunately it doesn’t wow me! 2. How/when/where do you wear Overture-M (yes, a fav, too); and Interlude? What of Sunshine? Wow, I’ve asked a lot!!😢 Take your time! 😂
Another great video, I never gave Amouage a fair shake I sold reflection man too early I think and I owned Overture man amd sold it quick but I believe I was too new to fragrances at the time.
I need your help if you know about this. I want to buy Beloved, Bracken, Epic, Journey and Beach Hut but I can only find this new boxes so I was eondering is the smell tje same and also the perfomance as older bittles is the only diffrence in the packecing?
Wholeheartedly agree. JUBILATION XXV is mysterious and beguiling, A masterpiece. My all-time favourite fragrance. Bertrand Duchaufour secured his place in the pantheon of master perfumers with this sublime creation. My only small quibble - projection could be better. A small complaint given how magical and transportive it is. Thanks for the always informative content. Having carried on a love affair with fragrance since the 60s, it's a treat to hear someone with an appreciation of the rich history of the perfumer's art.
Thank you Rifleman I really appreciate the support... if you want Green Amouages Beach Hut Man & Memoir Man are the two I tell you to start with... but other frags from the line feel Green like Epic Man & Epic Woman for example... thanks for watching 💪🐏
Hey there Yesterday I got my nose for the first time on Sunshine man and Lyric man (although I hate rose). I was very disappointed by Sunshine Man (boring on my skin. Bracken is 10 times better on me). I got a decant of it just for the purpose of collecting a discontinued frag, but I don't think I'm going to wear it much (if at all). I was pleasantly surprised by Lyric Man. I sniffed it "knowing" I'm going to hate it, but it's the first rose based scent that interests me. Got a decant as well. Though I hear it has been reformulated recently ... (my decant is the pre-formulation version).
This is a great list - I'm not so much of a fan of Jubilation (way too honeyed for my tastes) but love Journey Man and Interlude Man. I'll have to check out Opus VI and XIII.
@@RamseytheRam haha - a year late, but I"m in the middle of my Amouage journey right now. So many really great scents in this house. Keep up the great content.
Im not a fan of Amouage (not my style at all), but Fate Man is in my top 10 ever. I think its the best that spices can offer in fragrance. Its amazing. Masterpiece
What a great review! Your passion for perfumes is very contagious! I have only 2 bottles: Overture and Rose Incense. Love both! Would be nice to see analogous ranking of Frederic Malle's Editions de Parfums, as they are also very unique and influential. My obsession started several years ago with Noir Epices and Monsieur. by FM|EdP.
@@RamseytheRam Thank you! I feel like I'm going to binge watch your videos on the weekend. Honestly, you have one of the best channels for those who have a kinda trained nose and already understand their preferences. And I love that you provide additional information and context in your reviews. These stories make them even more entertaining and memorable!
I believe it.. but so is the price... and I am happy with interlude... if someone sent me a bottle I would wear it... otherwise I am saving my dollars for rare and hard to find vintages when they appear 😁
@@RamseytheRam if u have interlude u dont realy need int…53. For Real potention of projection u need to OPEN cup and live IT for few month… lol Oil concetrations Are in our culture and tradition. Thank you for this list-exhaustive list of things to smell. Have you got your nose on Epic 56 extrait? DYING to smell without having to find a new corner.
I dont own them 🤷🏻♂️ These family portraits are just highlighting frags in my collection Actually I think this video was uploaded before King Blue even came out 😂😂😂
Hi. Tx 4 video. I struggle with Figment man, I'm getting used to Interlude Black iris, im ok with Epic man, flowing with Portrayal, Dia and Gold. Do i need Sunshine?😂hugs from sunny Croatia
I hope that one day you will live in OMAN, and work with Amouage... Definitely you will have an impact on their perfumery.... You are so gifted and talented... Big hello from Beirut Lebanon 🇱🇧
Have you ever tried sand aoud ? From mancera . It’s exactly the same as jubilation now the open is more aoudy but man after 15 mins it’s the beautiful jubilation 25 that I love . And sorry the new version of 25 doesn’t last long but sand aoud does. I think you would appreciate sand aoud from mancera… man I loved this whole video and our top 3 is very similar . I just don’t own epic but I will now after watching this video. Thanks loved the video
I currently have 6 from the house... my preference order... 1. Overture 2. Jub xxv 3. Epic woman 4. Interlude black iris 5. Dia 6. Reflection Based on my preferences, which would you recommend as a good next amouage to add. Im torn between Memoir Overture woman Epic man Journey man Many thanks
All of those you mention are full bottle worthy... i just reviewed Overture Woman & have a review of Epic Man on the channel & a comparison between Epic Woman and Epic 56 💪🐏
Amouage is one of my fav houses too and from the bottles and decants/samples I have NOW my list would be the following: 1- Gold Man (vtg) 2- Epic Man (vtg) 3- Jub XXV (man) 4- Fate Man 5- Journey Man 6- Opus I 7- Opus VI 8- Ciel Man 9- Día Man 10- Material 11- Opus II 12- Ubar 13- Lilac Love 14- Lyric Man 15- Beach Hut Woman
@@RamseytheRam Opus I is a spicy floriental and Ubar is also a floriental but more aldehydic, with a very nice ambergris base, both done in a classic 'french' way. Opus II is a green powdery fougere, nice but been there done that for me 🤷
I didnt buy any of the new 53 / 45 / 69 scents from the house ... just seemed like a cash grab ... not happy with the way the house is going but hey those are the breaks 🤷♂️ Thanks for watching & commenting 😊
@@RamseytheRam appreciated but both 53 and 45 are clearly better than the original and ypu can tell from the comments / reviews i'm not the only person who believes that...i hear you about the direction of the house and agree, but you're cutting your nose off to spite your face by not at least sampling the extraits- theyre the best releases from the house for decades...anyway, thanks for responding good luck with ypur channel

Thank you for this comprehensive rundown of Amouage fragrances, Ramsey. What a great addition to the library of your best videos. I'll have to explore the women-targeted fragrances...I only have Lyric Woman which is a beautiful composition. I noticed that Figment Man did not make your list...I'd love to hear your thoughts on this fragrance; it's been one that I've been wearing and enjoying for this Fall.
Figment Man didnt make the list because I dont own it🤷♂️ Would love a bottle but at this point it isnt feasable.... Thanks so much for watching & commentimg 🙂
Yeah, I was really looking forward to Ramsey's opinion on it. I love it, it's such a daring fragrance (IMO), with a rose / geranium / wet soil profile that will likely appal most people at first with its unapologetic earthy, animalic assault.
Hi Ramsey. If you were to add "Imitation Woman" to this list, where would you rank it? I recently got a bottle of it and I love it. It instantly became one of my favorite fragrances. Did you get a bottle of it yet? I heard that it's discontinued.
I dont know if I feel comfortable adding something post list but its a really good fragrance. My guess with how many Amouages I have cemented towards the top is somewhere in the middle 🤷🏻♂️😀
Wonderful content, congrats. Is current Jubilation xxv not worthy at all? What is your thoughts on that. It looks like it is the only version readily available in the market
Thanks for the kind words I have never smelled the newest Jubi XXV so I honestly don't know...but from what I hear is that it has been very watered down 🤷🏻♂️
I JUST received a non-magnetic plastic cap version of Jubilation XXV based off of this review. Prior to this I'd only owned Epic. Thank you for the review, Ramz. It smells wonderful, I'm very glad to have a bottle. Best blackberry note in fragrance, hands down. Normally I don't blind buy, but based off of the rarity of the plastic cap Jubilation (meaning it'd be gone quick) plus how you talked about it I was confident in pulling the trigger for it. Interestingly I get some - read some - similarities with A*Men Pure Malt, minus the whiskey note of course, and also much higher quality. I have a Ciel Man sample that should be arriving shortly.
Hey mate, I am having the chance to buy one of the last bottles of Bracken or Fate Man. I like them both, equally. I have more memories with Bracken, I wore this in the evening and night time in Bangkok but I don’t think Bracken is good for winter - here Fate shines. From a collector perspective, which one would you buy first NOS?
You are right, it is impossible two choose one over the other - if you love Amouage. I don’t care for „wearability“, I love them both for several reasons. Beloved Man was also perceived very positively by my buddies. I will probably head for Bracken, as it seems rarer, Fate is regularly in „the bay“ for a good price.
Plus I own Beach Hut and Sunshine from the Midnight Flower Collection. I have a lot of respectt for the series, Bracken Woman is also incredibly refreshing for my wife.
Always a pleasure listening to your reviews! I hope you will find somehow Marella Ferrera perfume because you have to! It is really BEAUTIFUL! I am curious about your opinion! Cheers!
I've seen your video multiple times as I receive my samples from Amouage. Thank you very much for your passion to share your experience and knowledge 🙏👌 !
Too low Beach Hut - but you got the perfect picture: this is me in Thailand at 36* Celsius. Nothing keeps me that fresh in the day. In the evening: Bracken Man.
You are so right about Imitation Man having the same if not very similar castoreum note to La Douleur Exquise. The castoreum note is why i bought a full bottle from Eugen's brand. Maybe ill keep testing imitation man and make myself buy it 😂
Jeeezz what a fantastic list you dropped! If you like Cypriol you should try Opus 7 if you haven't already... it's beastly green, leathery, resinous and cypriol-y in the best way possible
The brand is still somewhere in my current top 3. Probably the only one which I had to go to great lenghts to keep me from getting every release (Pre-Salmon... Yet, I still can appreciate recent releases and am still getting to know them). Anyway, there's a clip floating out there of Negrin stating part of the idea behind XI was creating an "oud" fragrance, sans actual/natural oud... But does an (oud) tree fall in the woods if the clip of it isn't presented?.. I'll try and locate...
I got Jubilation XXV and the performance sucks so much. Same issue with Reflection Man. Sucks because these are my two first Amouage fragrances so for me this fragrance house has been highly disappointing. I highly doubt I will be purchasing another Amouage fragrance now.
If you can find vintage bottles its a totally different story... its sad because this was one of my favorite houses... but honestly they did it to themselves so what can I say 🤷🏻♂️
@@RamseytheRam yeah, you’re 100% correct. I just got into perfumery so I missed out on good stuff it seems. New follower here BTW and I really enjoy your content. I appreciate that you call them out when it’s wrong. Thank you!
I love amouage i got 9 bottles so far i think out of all my amouage memoir the hardest for me to pick when to wear the green makes me want to wear in summer but sometime gives me slight headache when it dried down in the hot heat humidity but oh well i will deal with it for thr opening just go light on the sprays .
Amouage Interlude Man is an Awesome smell to my nose. I absolutely love it. The next Amouage I own is Beach Hut Man. Very beast mode smooth accent. Minty is long lasting
Bravo maestro !!! Thank you very much for this wonderful ranked video. Amouage is my favourite house, and if Jubilation xxv is your number one from them, you are my brother. Jubi for Man is my favourite fragrance and Dia Man is the second one. Of course, Duchaufour is the reason. The gifts from King of incense ! Jubilation for Women is a very good chypre, and now when I have Diaghilev I can say that Roja's chypre is better. On the other side, when I compare Overture Man and Roja's Enigma pour homme, I still cannot decide which one is a better Cognac. We can agree that Roja makes a better Chypres, but Amouage company creates better olibanum/incense/frankincense fragrances. I'm very glad that you will do many ranked videos in the future. Autumn and winter are perfect for the enjoyment in reviews like this one. Drink of the night : espresso with milk and honey Scent Of The Night : Creed - Royal Cedar Music Of The Night : Ludwig Van Beethoven - Fidelio. Greetings from Serbia and the Nish city. Cheers my friend.....
Hi Ramsey What a great time that I spend watching your talk videos about fragrances I did had the same feeling that u did when first try Lyric man 😅 but then after the more I use it the more I fell it’s depth and it’s classic side To me the rose in Lyric man is very similar to the classic green rose in vintage Ungaro III but in a modern way removing fougere elements and adding more citrusy nature but still the rose there feel green and classy and feel similar to me ❤
You are just so darn good, Ramsey! So much enjoyed this video. I love Amouage and find their fragrances very interesting. I only own one bottle and it is Overture Woman. Not sure why I picked that one, but I was in Warsaw and I can't get that one in Sweden and I thought it would grow on me which it has, but I am still sort of getting used to it. Very curious about your opinion about it if you've tried it? I have a bunch of Amouage decants. Love Journey Woman, Reflection Man, Honour Woman, Ashore, Memoir Woman, Meander and Epic Woman, but cannot stomach Interlude, I am sorry. Maybe this will change but the leather is just too heavy. One drop of that fragrance ruined a dance night for me a few months ago. It is a BEAST for sure and we have not become friends yet. Overture Man is beautiful on a man, but I didn't love it on myself.
Thanks for the beautiful comment ... I watched your Galbanum video and really enjoyed it... your passion for fragrances shines through which is the most important part 😊
@@RamseytheRam Thank you. Just realised you probably would find Overture Woman too sweet. It is very boozy and it also has a "bready" quality that bugs me a little. I get a slight yeasty vibe from it.
Great video as usual Ramsey. My first experience of niche perfume was interlude and then jubilation 25! blew me away. Never knew perfume could be soo 3D, if you know what I mean. Got a quick question for you, I came across some for women perfumes but which one would you recommended to buy? We have similar tastes . So between jubilation 25, lyric, gold, ciel and journey, all for women.
Hi Ramsay its a really good and informative video and i appreciate it but i would like to know your opinion on rose incense i think its one of the last fragrance released by Christopher chong
Thank you for compiling this list. Very nice to see your perspective on the house. I myself would not be able to rank them. Also, I miss a few, like Honour and Imitation. I got staples, sure, but depending on the mood that list would change. Even a top 5 would be hard. Again, thanks for taking the effort picking your favourite ‘kids’ 😉
@@RamseytheRam I’m surprised you didn’t complain about the fish man discontinuing: Fate Man Figment Man Beach Hut Woman Imitation Man & Woman Journey Woman Myths Man
I have about 20 Amouage Fragrances. I sold Myths, Fate, Bracken, Memoir and Figment and Boundless. Top 5 for me Would be Silver Oud, Gold , Jubilation, Epic and Overture Man but I do like most of the house.
Hey Ramsey. I really like your videos. Another one that has a nice prominent cypriol note is Amouage Opus VII (also a Pierre Negrin, Alberto Morillas creation). It was created when Christopher Chong was the Creative Director. Before the fishman took over 🤣🤣🤣
I have the newer Jubilation XXV, and I suspect it may indeed have been reformulated - it smells amazing, no doubt, but it becomes very faint, very fast.
Hi Ramsey, you really touched my perfume-lover heart in the beginning of your video. Not only because Amouage is my favourite house but for you say about a change in your life. When I firstly found Amouage five years ago my perception on perfumery changed, yes, like you. Amouage opened a new era in my life (talking about perfumes). As usual, superb video which is almost one hour and a half long but you're a very good communicator and all that time seemed to be five minutes or less. I stayed until late night watching it. I "only" own 15 full bottles of Amouage and about 15 more in decants and of course I would have done a different Top 30 in my case. Memoir would have been my Top 1 (I love that deep dark non-sweet blackcurrant). And influenced by your video my scent of the day is Dia, good for this 30-35º C we have here.
Memoir being number one I couldnt argue with... i need to wear my amouages more... i have been testing so many other frags sometimes my favs get pushed to the back burner... thanks for watching & commenting & the very kind word... it truly means a lot 🍻
I have every bottle of your top 15 except Overture and Sunshine man. Have to get Them... And I have a Vintage Amouage Cristal from the 80's 😀. Amazing too.
You know what is THE MOST HEART BROKEN thing that can happened to a perfume lover? When he REBUY and become to know that the perfume he fell in loved with already REFORMULATED or water down and become a pale shadow what it's used to be. JUBILATION 25 WAS the stuff that smelled like true royalty once and now become a weaker and under performer already lost all the power and projection.
At last i have found someone that agrees that Chong's Era was the best that Amouage House has ever found itself into. For me Lyric Man, Jubilation Man , Interlude Man, Reflection Man and Imitation Man are the top 5 followed by Bracken Man , Myths Man, Beach Hut Man, Journey Man and Epic Man to complete the top 10. I did not see you referring to Figment Man (the most artistic fragrance of the House) which imo if one can withstand 3-4 Hours of wearing it, it then gives out a very nice Rose vibe
Newest batches of J25 are fine. It's easy to go anosmic to, but I get similar performance from newer bottles to vintage bottles. Scent profile a little warped, but similar longevity/projection
Totally agree re Christopher Chong and everything he put out. Had the same journey of knowing I'd grow into what he was aiming at and would understand in time. with Fate, Portrayal, Sunshine, Memoir and others. After he left it was the end of an era. Nowhere near as bold and the current decisions are too sourced in mainstream frag sensibilities. Enclave is an outlier without much precedent but Meander and Boundless and others are derivative. Material is actually great but doesn't perform. They also changed the formulations of older frags to get you to spray more. Performance on current Jubilation is terrible. Barely an hour. Same for Memoir. Beloved Man is incredible. Subtle elegance. Portrayal is great and a take on Fahrenheit but does not overtake it. The OG is more multidimensional and superior. Portrayal is a cool throwback and creative nod though. Amouagey with the florals dominating. Bracken is one of the greatest modern fougeres but was reformulated. Performance problem since then. And now discontinued. I think its heavily indebted to Pasha EDT but vastly superior to that. Opus 9 is one of the best from the library collection. Agree. Every time I smell the opening, I smile. Powerhouse performance. 12 hours without trying. Leatha. Memoir is not underrated. Every Amouage lover, loves it. The Reflection crowd doesn't get it. You forgot the adjective smokey to describe it. Its addictive. Myths is great. Very original. Figment could have been somewhere on this list although prob the most challenging. Does better on clothes than skin for me in terms of retaining the soil and not being too animalic/urine smelling. Imitation Man is good. Overture 🧥 is a legend. Sunshine. Great and among the most original but the current formulation doesn't last more than 3 hours. Interlude. Greatest smokey frag. Turning point in many people's frag journeys. Glad we all agree on number 1. Looking forward to the 40 version of the Extrait. Tragic what they did to the current formulation. So tragic. Thanks for doing this video. Much enjoyed.
Thanks for a beautiful comment & for watching... if a decant of Jubi 40 falls in my lap I will do a video on it .. otherwise I am happy with my 2 bottles I currently have 🤌🤌
Again, a very inspiring Video from you. Thank you so much for this great presentation 🙏
Thanks so much for the super chat!
You’re the best Ramsey. Please keep up your wonderful work and many blessings from Berkeley California.
Thank you my friend 🙏
Just found out - Christopher Chong is the new creative director of Thameen.
They just released their first scent under him - will be getting a sample
I heard! Never smelled anything from the brand before.... but I damn sure will be now 🤌🤌🤌
Thameen Carved Oud is excellent. Would love to explore that brand more.
Do they have a gin and tonic scent? If so I need to smell that. I might be thinking of Micalef
This is such a helpful video that I keep coming back to thanks for this
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 🙏🙏🙏
Really enjoyed this, your passion comes through and it is easy to see why you appreciate WHAT Amouage stands for and their history. Interesting placement of a few of the scents. Will be watching to see what additional changes occur as creative direction moves forward. I agree, Overture was C.C. taking a bow, to me it is a mind blowing masterpiece.
Thanks so much for watching & commenting David 😊
Your ability to deliver insight after insight is incredible. I wasn't expecting to verify my recent back up bottle purchase of Beloved Man, which is made in the UK and also has that weird sticker on the bottom I've never seen before. My more recent made in Oman bottle looks more typical.
Sorry for spamming your videos lately btw!
Glad to have you here with us...no apologies needed
@RamseytheRam thanks Ramsey! Side question - Amouage is my fav brand by far, and I'm looking expand into other niche/artisanal brands. I'm already familiar with TF, MFK, and FM. What are some of you other favorites?
@aloosh3713 Roja, Papillon...go check out my old videos for ideas 💡
‘I’ve listened to the new guy, the salmon guy, the fish guy…’ 😅 quote of the video
He is forever the fish guy 🐟😂😂😂
Broke man here after my purchases.
😅😅😅
Thank you Jose.. and what a beautiful read because I feel exactly the same way... they really are a transformative brand as you so elequently put it.... there is everything before you smell Amouage and everything after 🍻
What women's ones do you have? :)
Agreed 👍
@@josenewman4442 Yes absolutely! I've tried Lyric and Memoir and really enjoyed them. I own Portrayal and Lilac Love, but will definitely get more. They are my fave house! I love unique, powerful scents. Thank you for sharing!
the ranked ramsey lists are 🐐
The goat or the 🐏?
I worked and lived in the Middle East for 13 years and used to also spend a lot of time in Muscat. Unfortunately this was before I got into fragrances. My biggest regret is having not visited Amouage headquarters there.
Damn I would love to go one day 💪🐏
Boom! One Take Ramsey. That was so enjoyable. Also, I’m far too impatient to wait for the “real cold” to wear Overture Man Our southern winters are too mild and short. I start Oct 1.
Yes I should probably do the same.... cant fit all my heavy hitters into one month of Cold 😂😂😂
This is the best perfume video on UA-cam ever
I am honored thank you 🙏
Have you tried Figment Man? I've really fallen for it. Man, it's stinks, I love it.
Yes I ended up fallin for figment too.. Annick annick Menardos best work IMHO
Hi. After 1 year i could not stand, Figment have Coling me and love started, but for me at home 😂😂😂Stink Like hell, Figment is true beast performing perfume. 😅😂🎉
You’re becoming my favourite fragrance reviewer on UA-cam!! So genuine and so informative. Keep up the good work brother!!
Thank you for the support 🙏 🙏🙏
What a beautiful comment John... I am honored by your kind words mate🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful comment mate... i also dont like enclose or that other that came out around the same time meander ... they are both just 😒
It's a pleasure to have Ram...
I like opium Pour homme... I have since acquired the discontinued EDP of Opium Pour Homme and that is by far my favorite version of Opium PH
@DiscolorBlind I hate K Intense lol
But the silver sprayer is just a specific timeframe...so they made 50ml 100ml and 200ml in silver sprayers I believe
You and me feel exactly the same abut the house of Amouage 🙃
Sunshine man smells perfect and happy out of the sprayer but once applied, it goes a wrong direction to my nose. It is too itchy and it screams. Eau Noire is more polished and gourmand.
You maybe right but for me it is perfect... love sunshine man 🌞
What a Tour DE Force this vid is. my hat is off to you - truly a feast for the senses of a fellow fraghead. with kind regards
Thanks so much for the kind words & watching & commenting 🍻
I absolutely love Beloved Man. So regal to me.
It is so beautiful indeed... thanks for watching 🙂
Loved the description of “Beach Hut Man”.
Thank you so much I will review it soon 😊
Best Amouage run down I’ve seen. Deserved, and got, a sub just for this. Looking forward to exploring more of your content.
There is a lot to explore
Welcome to the channel
The only full bottle of Amouage that i had was Sunshine. My favorite is Jubilation but they are available only as big 100ml bottle, quite expensive also. I would buy if the 50ml bottle was available.
Love sunshine man... jubilation 25 is also full bottle worthy .. especially if you can find an older bottle 😊
Amazing list, would be great to hear you talk about the current formulations. I know it’s some effort to get the samples but would be super interesting, at least your top 5.
Thanks for the rec & for watching & commenting 🙏🙏🙏
I give zero F’s about most reviewers’ ranked videos based solely on their personal opinions alone which is the vast majority. You add so much more background information, history, and comparisons that is so much more valuable. I very much appreciate what you do here!
I made the same mistake with Boundless being a tobacco lover myself. It’s nice, but it’s not Amouage. And if it IS Amouage, who they want to be today, then it’s vintage bottles only for me going forward.
Thanks man... i feel the same way about the house going forward... except I already own all the vintages I want 😂😂😂
However I do want a bottle of that Silver Oud that is the best "modern" Amouage I have sniffed & it is full bottle worth but 500 bucks is just to steep 🤦♂️
@@RamseytheRam come to think of it, the reason I don’t have the budget right now is because I just blind bought Diaghilev based on your reviews. 😝 No regrets!
Wonderful video Ramsey! I only own 5 full bottles of Amouage perfumes but, for the most part, they are all special fragrances.
Thank you Phyllis... I totally agree.. hope you can score some more in the future 🍻
Thanks for watching 🙏
@@RamseytheRam I hope so too!
Thank you so much for watching & commenting
Do report back and let me know what you think of Epic & Reflection Man
I have videos about both fragrances on the channel 💪🐏
nice perspective from someone that has way more experience than i do haha
aside from a couple outliers on the bottom of your list that i like a lot personally, like:
boundless -- i don't care too much about the mass-appeal factor you mention since it does straight up just smell good and the best of its archetype that i've found. and i prefer it to comparable frags like enigma, its a bit smoother to me. and
black iris as well -- but i think thats because i just love orris haha. but probably i just don't think the interludes are so far apart and i do enjoy all 3 ( maybe 53 the least since i do appreciate the sharpness of the original a ton and i have the least experience with it just from samples)
aside from those your top 10 is pretty agreeable and i wish i could try a lot of the discontinued ones you touch on, ive only tried myths and loved it, i wish it stayed on their rotation :( such a gothic and brooding power to it that is just so characteristic to me
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch & comment... hope you get to smell more of the brand from back in the day when Chong was creative director 😊
@@RamseytheRam definitely going to be on the lookout for decants, also for the feminine-aimed offerings as well since I admittedly ignored them for a while when I shouldn't have
Don't worry I did the same thing... they are amazing though
Thanks so much for the kind words & for watching & commenting 💪🐏
Absoluty yes! Jubilation xxv is the king 👑
Indeed 🤌🤌🤌
Thanks for watching & commenting 🙏🙏🙏
Really enjoyed the video! I've never tried an Amouage and wasn't really interested in them even with all the hyping of some of their offerings but hearing more in depth about a lot more of their offerings makes it a much more appealing sounding brand. Maybe I'll sample some of them soon to try them out but as always really enjoyed the in depth reflections of the fragrances.
Thanks so much for the feedback & if you do get a chance to get your nose on them I would love it if you came back and gave us a fill report of what you thought 🙏
Thanks for watching & commenting my friend 🍻
@@RamseytheRam Of course! And it is definitely in the works next time I do a sample haul I'm going to be looking into Interlude, Jubilation, and maybe a few others that sounded interesting!

Thank you Ahmad 🙏🙏🙏
Well, what a passionately informative discussion and reveal of one of my favorite fragrance houses, the great Amouage! Thank you!
I have a few …can’t afford too many, but wanted to ask you two things:
#2 first I wear whatever I want whenever I want but normally in cooler weather
#1 i would say try Dia Man as signature scent 🤌🤌🤌
@@RamseytheRam ok, thanks, I’ll try Dia Man!
I really like this house!👐🏽
Another great video, I never gave Amouage a fair shake I sold reflection man too early I think and I owned Overture man amd sold it quick but I believe I was too new to fragrances at the time.
I know the feeling mate... that is why I am so terrified to sell any of my bottles 😬
I need your help if you know about this. I want to buy Beloved, Bracken, Epic, Journey and Beach Hut but I can only find this new boxes so I was eondering is the smell tje same and also the perfomance as older bittles is the only diffrence in the packecing?
Unfortunately I dont know about the new boxes as I have never smelled them....if anyone knows please leave info below
Thank you so much for watching & for the kind words 🙏🙏🙏
Mylord, your videos are a ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak and dreary world.
The freshest green Amouage Beach Hut?
Thank you Rifleman I really appreciate the support... if you want Green Amouages Beach Hut Man & Memoir Man are the two I tell you to start with... but other frags from the line feel Green like Epic Man & Epic Woman for example... thanks for watching 💪🐏
Hey there
Yesterday I got my nose for the first time on Sunshine man and Lyric man (although I hate rose).
Thanks for watching & sharing your thoughts 🍻
This is a great list - I'm not so much of a fan of Jubilation (way too honeyed for my tastes) but love Journey Man and Interlude Man. I'll have to check out Opus VI and XIII.

Wow for not an Amouage fan Fate Man is a tough one to love as a one off... crazy lol
What a great review! Your passion for perfumes is very contagious! I have only 2 bottles: Overture and Rose Incense. Love both!

Figment Man didnt make the list because I dont own it🤷♂️
Would love a bottle but at this point it isnt feasable....

Congrats the non-magnetic cap is super rare... very happy for you that you found one 😀🙂
This fragrance is amazing ❤
Reflection 45?
I don't own a bottle but I did a comparison video on the channel if you want to check that out
Hey mate, I am having the chance to buy one of the last bottles of Bracken or Fate Man. I like them both, equally. I have more memories with Bracken, I wore this in the evening and night time in Bangkok but I don’t think Bracken is good for winter - here Fate shines. From a collector perspective, which one would you buy first NOS?
Probably Fate because it was one of the early Amouages I bought in my journey...but Bracken is much more wearable...buy them both!
Cheers!
I have never smelled Marella Ferrera perfumes but I will put them on the to sniff list 👃🏻
I've seen your video multiple times as I receive my samples from Amouage. Thank you very much for your passion to share your experience and knowledge 🙏👌 !
Thank you so much my friend... appreciate that & thanks for watching & commenting 🍻
Too low Beach Hut - but you got the perfect picture: this is me in Thailand at 36* Celsius. Nothing keeps me that fresh in the day. In the evening: Bracken Man.
Thanks for watching & commenting 🍻
Great video as always
Thanks for watching & thanks for the feedback Justin 🤌🤌🤌
You are so right about Imitation Man having the same if not very similar castoreum note to La Douleur Exquise. The castoreum note is why i bought a full bottle from Eugen's brand. Maybe ill keep testing imitation man and make myself buy it 😂
They are both soooo good .. lovely stuff indeed 🌹
Jeeezz what a fantastic list you dropped! If you like Cypriol you should try Opus 7 if you haven't already... it's beastly green, leathery, resinous and cypriol-y in the best way possible
I have not tried opus 7 👁👁
Thanks for watching & for the tip 😊
The brand is still somewhere in my current top 3. Probably the only one which I had to go to great lenghts to keep me from getting every release (Pre-Salmon... Yet, I still can appreciate recent releases and am still getting to know them). Anyway, there's a clip floating out there of Negrin stating part of the idea behind XI was creating an "oud" fragrance, sans actual/natural oud... But does an (oud) tree fall in the woods if the clip of it isn't presented?.. I'll try and locate...
😂😂😂
I can totally see that btw... i love it and I need to track down a bottle one day soon 😬
@@RamseytheRam Me too! ...that & VII have been on my wish-queue for some time
Enjoyed this one for sure, Thank you.😎
Thanks for watching 👀
Thank you!
Ive watched this 4 times and watching again. Love the house. Im 15 fragrances in.
Thank you my friend... thanks for the support 🙏🙏🙏
What a glorious house indeed... thanks so much for watching & commenting 🙏
@RamseytheRam looking forward to more from you sir.
Amouage Interlude Man is an Awesome smell to my nose. I absolutely love it.
The next Amouage I own is Beach Hut Man. Very beast mode smooth accent. Minty is long lasting
Love old Amouage 🥲
Long live old Amouage 👊
@@RamseytheRam Reformulated in recent batches?
That is the rumor... but I have never smelled the new stuff 🤷♂️
Drink of the night : espresso with milk and honey
Scent Of The Night : Creed - Royal Cedar
Music Of The Night : Ludwig Van Beethoven - Fidelio.
Greetings from Serbia and the Nish city.
Cheers my friend.....
Creed Royal Cedar 😂😂😂
Cheers brother 🍻
Great video man. Thank you
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 🍻
Hi Ramsey
What a great time that I spend watching your talk videos about fragrances
I did had the same feeling that u did when first try Lyric man 😅 but then after the more I use it the more I fell it’s depth and it’s classic side
To me the rose in Lyric man is very similar to the classic green rose in vintage Ungaro III but in a modern way removing fougere elements and adding more citrusy nature but still the rose there feel green and classy and feel similar to me ❤
Very beautiful comment mate... thanks so much for watching 🍻
1) Jubilation 25
2) Gold
3) Lyric
Never smelled Ciel or Journey for women... maybe one day 😄
@@RamseytheRam cheers will give it a go
Hi Ramsay its a really good and informative video and i appreciate it but i would like to know your opinion on rose incense i think its one of the last fragrance released by Christopher chong
Thank you so much I have never smelled Rose Incense unfortunately 🤷♂️
Hopefully I will be able to one day
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 🍻
Thank you for compiling this list. Very nice to see your perspective on the house. I myself would not be able to rank them. Also, I miss a few, like Honour and Imitation. I got staples, sure, but depending on the mood that list would change. Even a top 5 would be hard. Again, thanks for taking the effort picking your favourite ‘kids’ 😉
It wasnt easy ranking them for sure... thanks so much for watching & commenting 🍻
@@RamseytheRam I’m surprised you didn’t complain about the fish man discontinuing:
Fate Man
Figment Man
Beach Hut Woman
Imitation Man & Woman
Journey Woman
Myths Man
I have about 20 Amouage Fragrances. I sold Myths, Fate, Bracken, Memoir and Figment and Boundless. Top 5 for me Would be Silver Oud, Gold , Jubilation, Epic and Overture Man but I do like most of the house.
Nice! Thanks so much for sharing... i so want a bottle of silver oud 😁😬
Wow really, 1 hour and a half, full of interesting data, you really achieved something, thanks for creating content
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 🍻
Hey Ramsey. I really like your videos. Another one that has a nice prominent cypriol note is Amouage Opus VII (also a Pierre Negrin, Alberto Morillas creation). It was created when Christopher Chong was the Creative Director. Before the fishman took over 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you and I just reviewed Opus VII within the last week or two... definitely a full bottle worthy fragrance 💪🐏
My friend, take some anthropology studies focused on Fragrance, taste, you will love it.
Nice! Thanks for the rec 🍻
I have the newer Jubilation XXV, and I suspect it may indeed have been reformulated - it smells amazing, no doubt, but it becomes very faint, very fast.
Shame to hear ... i love Jubilation XXV & it makes me sad to hear Amouage tinkering with things 😔
Do u have the Made in UK version?
@@adamsue8919 No, it's from Oman, October '21 batch.
Are you going to try the new stronger ones like reflection man 45 etc
Probably not... unless Amouage sends them to me... hey Amouage... send me some full bottles ehh?? 😬😉
Love Amouage 🙌🏼🌹 Great video Ram. Have you tried Rose incense? One of my top 5 now.
I have not 👀
Top 5 Rose frag from Jura Rose ehhhhh🌹🤔
+1 for Rose Incense @Jura Rose. I believe it was the last perfume under Chong
I have every bottle of your top 15 except Overture and Sunshine man. Have to get Them... And I have a Vintage Amouage Cristal from the 80's 😀. Amazing too.
One of my favorite brands of all time! Thanks so much for watching & commenting 😊
Well Done…… if we can rang Amouage will be almost same black Iris and Interlud Are my favourit
Love the Blue Beast as well 🤌🤌🤌
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 🙏
You know what is THE MOST HEART BROKEN thing that can happened to a perfume lover?
When he REBUY and become to know that the perfume he fell in loved with already REFORMULATED or water down and become a pale shadow what it's used to be.
JUBILATION 25 WAS the stuff that smelled like true royalty once and now become a weaker and under performer already lost all the power and projection.
Yes you are spot on
At last i have found someone that agrees that Chong's Era was the best that Amouage House has ever found itself into.
I am a late comer to the figment man love but I finally have a bottle and I love it!
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 😊
Chong era was sublime!
Is Jubilation 25 worth purchasing in 2024? I heard its watered down to death.
I haven't smelled the newest stuff sorry ... if anyone can chime in below that would be awesome
Thanks for a beautiful comment & for watching... if a decant of Jubi 40 falls in my lap I will do a video on it .. otherwise I am happy with my 2 bottles I currently have 🤌🤌
I find Halfeti leather, Bottega Veneta pour Homme, and GGAPH all interchangeable
Really? Never smelled either Halfeti Leather or Bottega Veneta PH ... would love to one day 😊
when did amouage stop producing 50ml's? i found Journey man in 50ml, it might be an old gem?
I honestly don't know
If anyone knows leave it below 🙂
Solid review on this house💯🍻
Thank you Marius 😊
