for giving a citadel to allies, I think it pair best with the Norse: they have a VERY easy time setting up agressive buildings and repaitring them sicne its their army doing it, but at the same time their defensive structures tend to be on the weak end, so the Citadel would be a great way to secure such an agressive norse outpost, while the norse will provide all the neccessities to keep it healthy without having to dedicate actual workers to it
Set's Vision god power, combined with Ptah's Shifting Sands and Thoth's Meteor + Valley of the Kings upgrade with Pharaoh empowerment which can give 2 War Elephants is seems to be what is making a lot of Egyptian players choose Set. Also, Nephthy's Funeral Rites is the most awful new technology in my opinion. You have to lose 20 units before it pays for itself? That's not a nice upgrade. I still prefer the City of the Dead upgrade which buffs up Pharaohs and Sons of Osiris.
i think also the level of theorycrafting done by players has increased and improved. set animals are free food on age up, and food you can deny from your opponent from the start of the game by sending your priest to enemy hunt. set also is the only egyptian to have a real scout
@@SolitaryLark and more importantly, that makes the gods that used to have access to those myth units not a necessity on water-heavy maps anymore, while still making them more interesting to grab on said maps thanks to the water myth units upgrades they offer
23:37 Yea, ballista in the tech tree is the Mythic age norse siege unit. It seems to be a mistake since in game you could not build them as Egypt. Theres no Ballistic upgrade icon (the new tech that gives better accuracy) so it probably got confused with that.
@@nicolinrucker5181 yes, but i mean the New technology all civs have that improve range units accuracy. You can research it in game but it does not show in the tech tree. The one you talk about is still in game and shown in the tech tree.
My real question with the Roc change is will they change the campaign cutscene they are in? Egyptians are looking good but that Thoth research....they can't stay like that. Ra the weakest Egyptian Major god as a result. Mythology tidbit - have always found it weird Seth has Horus as a minor god to follow given that Set is said to have killed his dad Osiris and Isis, his mother, does not have it in her tree! Suppose is part of the problem with having 2/3 Mythic age gods tied into that story.
I know titans can't heal, but Crimson Linen upgrade also applies to them? Asking since the Hecate life regen life for myth units also applied to the titan back in the day
Umm, you cannot do what you said, activate eclipse and then put down ancestors, since eclipse is a god power shield. Need to put ancestors first and then eclipse right after.
I prefare ra more then others but i thing set is good but more hard to play, isis is good maybe more balanced for economy….but i like RA more in general with priest to empower and strong elite units 🎉🎉
For Ra they should change Bast for Anubis and Horus for Thoth. It has no sense to have Horus that benefits barrack units when your bonus benefits migdol units. Anubis and Thoth make more synergy with Ra.
Now we understand why Mythbro has always been an Abbasid main, it’s his childhood memories of the AOM Egyptians, all those dromedary 🐪
This game is such a blessing it’s basically a RTS smite, especially after smite 2’s abysmal launch
Can't tell you how much I love seeing AOM not only get a remaster but the attention and love it deserves!

Hey! Fun video and very detailed. This video makes me feel like I don't have to painstakingly test every combo of gods for a 100hours.
My preferred god back in the old AoM days was Ra!
A lot of things might change in Retold.

Love your content! Looking forward to a Noree guide as well!
20:00 All myth water units are now baseline for all civs. The minor gods that gave them now give upgrades for them for the most part.
Much better this way. Everyone needs access to a myth unit atleast on water

The next installment!
Lights camera action! Lol, great video fitzbro, Subbed, looking forward to the game!

Egypt has an upgrade for Guard Towers called "Ballista Tower".

farms cost gold as egyptians. but the wood gathering from bast is good if you want to go archers
I always forget that and it Jacks me up!
Omg did I say something about wood gathering helping with farms? Definitely a slip up! Gold is the currency of the Egyptians!
@@FitzBro with the god bast her technology to get more wood from villagers that doesn't help with farms but it does help with archers
I'd always play as Set. My strat was always Ptah, Sekhmet, Thoth. Get some barracks units to help defend and then go into chariots and elephants.
Hey Fitzbro. Do you plant to remake this video with the Final Release of the Egyptians?
Probably at some point, but more pressing topics atm

The balista at the armory is just an error. Its a norse unit in mythic age.
The Ballista got lost following an ox cart methinks.
What is with that square box blocking the 4th tier god at the bottom of the screen?
My chat box that I forgot to disable when I was making the video :(

Not anymore in Retold

Sadly yes
We can't see you, Fitz.
Gooooood
