Awesome.... Glad this popped up. Definitely on my favorite videos on Friday, especially after the s****y day I've had.... Thanks to this crap weather, massive tree fell beside my house smashed my porch and broke a bunch of stuff, killed my daughters swing set and came about a foot from smashing my civic So.... Good way to end the day with some Harpeth Guitar repair magic
Hi Scotty, thank you for this video. What a lovely 1963 Fender Jazzmaster, still in mint conditions after 61 years. Just needed some slight adjustments, all made by the finest luthier of the USA !
Love the Eddie Murphy/Elvis tune!! Great work as usual Scotty! Also I heard the "don't throw out the baby with the bathwater" phrase is due to babies being washed last after adults back in the day and the water had darkened by that point (they were conserving and got a lot of washes in by that time!) much love from S. FL!!!
Seems like JMs always need some extra foam to get the pickups up where they need to be. My favorite foam is the stuff they pack EMG pickup sets with, hang onto it if you ever install EMGs for a client.
Shim is the way to go.. people malign the JMs and Jags but they must understand when they were designed people were using 12 or 13s for the high E. You could get away with the lower break angles on the bridge.
100%. Or I will sometimes cut the angle into the neck pocket, though I wouldn't recommend that with a vintage example such as this one. I won't string an offset with anything less than 11's. Just the string gauge alone makes a big difference!
Love you, sir!

Best of luck on the cleanup pal! I seen the mess on your instagram. Phew 😢
We really needed the rain over yonder here
Love the old Fenders. Everything these days are just copies. I had a few back in the '60's. Yes I'm that Old (75).

Wow ten grand for a guitar I'd be afraid somebody robbed me and steal my guitar 👍
The "3 men in a tub" comment made me cackle
