Fixing old shit can be challenging, but you seem to nail it, with our attitude and hard work. Lots of people think replacing stuff is hard, try to fix it at a low cost is much worse. Keep`em coming! Regards from Norway!
79yr old mine mechanic in uranium mines in Wyoming . Love watching your repair technique. Same as we did years back before all that line bore equipment. Also made and used dumbbell lineup bars through new pin bosses worked great. Used blueing or spray paint to find high spots and used grinding flappers or hones to true up
I watch those Pakistani truck repair videos too. I made scissor lifts for a year, and hitting those bushings with a hammer all around helps keep the pins from binding up when you put them back in. A line boring setup is nice, especially if you could find a used one to do these kinds of jobs on heavier machinery.
Absolutely fantastic work there’s no job to big or to small you can do them all. I love how nothing fazes you and you just get on with it full respect to you and your work an inspiration 👍👍👍
Loved it! This is real work, thinking on your feet, working with the customer, and getting it done. Loved the shout to Pakistani Truck Repair! Love that channel.
The tools used in this are very precise, I particularly like the “pizza tool”. You used it very well and showed how it can help accommodate the welding process. I think I am going to be using the “pizza tool” from now on. You rock dude 😎
That’s awesome doing that kind of work with the tools you had! Looks great in the end. A project like that could end up really screwed up in the wrong hands
Hey Anthony been watching your vids alot lately, im curious how you bid this job. Hourly? Or by the job? Im getting a truck setup for a side hustle until i can quit my day job but pricing jobs is definitely something im not educated enough with. Thanks man keep doin what you do we all appreciate it
That was really good. Really hard cuts with a torch! I tend to roll my wrist a little and taper the hole badly. I need more practice. lol Awesome work! with all those twists and bends in the machine, your repair was excellent! That poor machine is back to work :)
good job on the bushings... I think that i watched this 6 mos. ago, but enjoyed it again... I have some pin ring bushings ordered for my JD 420 loader, and wanted a refresher before jumping into that job.
Man, without that shit being straight when you welded it all in, you're asking for trouble. You can't blame it on lack of grease next time this happens.
Great work, grease would have been a much cheaper option in the 1st place,, amazing how you done it so well, how much would a job like that cost, a lot of work went in to doing it..
You said it took 6 hours to grind it, was just wondering, if you already quoted them, do you lose out on those hours or can you re-negotiate the extra hours it took to grind it?
Yeah good job Anthony I’ve done a few of those over the years myself and there’s a couple different ways I’ve done those jobs. I’ve cut out those bosses like you did but those Kinda repairs out in the field kind of suck I’ve also have measured about sometimes a foot sometimes 8 inches back from the end of the arm and cut off square take the piece back fabricate two new pieces with the bosses welded in then Double bevel the plate and just weld them in with 7018 like you were doing a structural play test then another way I’ve done especially with a small machine like that is instead of one long boss just cut them off flush on either side of arm and weld a boss on either side Opening the arm plate a little bit so it accommodates the pin once the pin slides through And connects to the quick connect plate works fine that little bit of 1 inch where there’s no boss in the middle ain’t Going to affect that pin at all specially on those small Machines after all it’s just a guide for the Pin And makes for a lot faster job to complete anyway good job though
You are no icweld but i fucking respect you , you speak your mind you dont bite your tongue when you talk. You won my subscription look forward to seeing more content
Cowboy you done well! I can see will become A Strong 💪 Skilled Metal Man! I like using anti never siege on pins and bushings! For extra security! Your going to the top! Cowboy 🤠!
My Grandfather - old dairy farmer in Pennsylvania drilled it into our heads: "Grease the equipment every time you take it out". He rarely had a premature wear-out problem. Sh!t - it ain't that hard and it don't take that long! Ballsy marathon repair!
I have a Crack around a boss on my backhoe, can I weld it without having to line bore it? Grocery stores have dry ice now, mix it with acetone and you get minus 78 degrees C, thatll shrink ur bushings real good
Nice repair Anthony, maybe one day you'll get to talk to Isaac from IC weld, he could definitely teach you a thing or two. Not saying that you did it wrong, i probably would have went at it the same way you just did. Good luck with everything, and bless you and your family.
a mill, or a line boring machine would do you wonders on fixing these bushing locations. Cutting edge engineering basically runs a weekly clinic on this stuff, but his shop is a little morr established.
Got a worn bucket link on my excavator. The seals for the pin don’t fit anymore. They are 5mm and stick out a little bit now. what is the best option to have it fixed?
Great video I'm curious just about more detail of how you found your placement on your bushings from the bigger arms From my experience is probably the most important.. thank you
It is always a bigger job than it seems at first look. Nice job finding the line. Holy crap Anthony that is a $1200 day anywhere but in reality you can probably only bill $600.
@@MeltinMetalAnthony It is worth every bit of that!!! Sorry I forgot that you were there from sun up to sun down.And..that is work that would be almost double anywhere else and they would be out of the use of the tractor for several weeks.

Just cause you probably make 25 buck an hour it seems like a lot of money to you. Go back to your office job buddy pushing pencils 😅
Dude, couple of things to heat up your lunch in the field place it either on the exhaust manifold if your running truck or welder and second thing is you need to invest in a line boring machine to bore out those bushings so the are in alignment then you can weld in the new ones!
Hey Anthony I'm far from a professional but just figured I'd share my advice, I have seen people use liquid nitrogen when doing those bushings to shrink them so they will expand when in machine, also lay your pizza on engine next time it will be nice and warm by lunch!
Carbide deburr would probably work better than the abrasive grinding ball. I work in military HET trailers, lots of pins and heavy equipment for tanks ... Better results..... Get yourself a needle scaler...works wonders
Grease everything!!! Amen! But do you still get to charge for Labor if it exceeds the expected timeframe? 6 hours of die grinding had me cringe. I’m asking if I myself run into the same problem down the road.
I'll never understand how someone can run a piece of equipment into that condition. As a life long equipment operator I grease all my rigs daily without exception. A squeaky boom is like waterboarding to me.
Actually don't grease it. Just keep on calling Anthony. Nice work man! Keep it up. I've tried just a little at making vids...it is a pain in the ass! Seriously though...you did a good job at it.
Hey bro what’s the respirator you use again? Can u send the part number of the mask and the filters ? Or put that link in your description I’ll get you that commission!
