Absolutely my favourite band. Such a unique sound you can't get anywhere else, I'm nothing but blown away by the quality of this album. Amazing work as always!
You know, upon seeing the title of this song I was very skeptical they’d get it right. But dangit, they did. The only thing this Lady Hell is missing is “and none of your clothes have pockets”.
Everyone's looking for a proper meaning in this song but it hits particularly close in my case. I have a great group of friends, I love them so much. They're all guys and we all get along great. However when we hang out together, it's almost impossible for me to get a word in. Either I'm interupted or just ignored, they don't mean it intentionally but they catch themselves doing it after. Whereas when I hang out with another group of friends who are mainly girls, they will always listen or at least one of them will! It doesn't feel like 'hell' but it sure is lonely when you're surrounded by people who won't hear you
I'm absolutely shocked this isn't a huge band with millions of subscribers. I only just discovered this band and I figured they were this band that's been on the radio that I've only just heard about. Someday this band is really going to blow up and I'm all for it :')
...so there's a hell out there with a crowd of people but none of theme will pay attention to you and there all chics? so basically it's me at a party but everyone is a girl?
This is awesome! As a woman myself I can say that being ignored it the worst feeling and just a little bit more will men do it to women then women to women. Its just a bit of old habit bathed in I guess, but it is pretty horrible. I can only imagine when women used to be supposed to be “seen but not heard” when they wanted to have a job and hoped that one day they would but no one listened to their pleas. This song really captures how horrible that must have been.
So, Spotify made me listen to this. Can I be honest? I'm in love, for real, this band is amazing, and, I've had this song on repeat when I first listened to it. I really enjoy this band, please don't stop making amazing songs like this,
THERE WAS A SILVER CIRCLE SIGN AND SHE WAS STANDING AT THE DOOR that opening drum beat reminds me a lot of The Dear Hunter's "He Said He Had a Story" haha

I discovered this song 2 years ago and I literally can't stop listening to it. This is my favorite song from my favourite band and it makes me feel awesome. It's incredibly well done and the feeling of empowerment it gives you it's something very difficult to imitate, not only that, but the instrumental is fenomenal, so are the vocals. I'm addicted to this.
Since I've heard this song I've been trying to remember what other song the melody reminds me of and I finally got it. Especially the chorus makes me think about the german song Griechischer Wein by Udo Jürgens, which is pretty cool because that song also picks up some of the same themes of loneliness.
Thank you for your reply and I think Dirt Poor Robins are one of the most unique and amazing groups I’ve ever heard. Especially love The Same as I and The Great Vacation. Thank you . Also love The Furthest star .
This is the first song I've heard of this band, and I really only listen to three songs at the moment because those three songs have been instant favorites and I fear what these songs are capable of.
Welcome to lady hell There's no men among the creatures 'Cause we prefer to customize every feature To make sure that hades is the bane of every lady in the the world Whether she's a woman or a girl You may expect to encounter clichés Of endless chores, thankless children to raise But trapping women in a kitchen is too kitsch to be a prison But here's the real smite of the feminine afterlife Though there's a crowd in her cell Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else She can never ever edge a word in herself 'Cause no one will listen to her in lady hell For as sad as it seems Somehow she's still holding on to all of her dreams Even though we know she'll never break from this spell She can't let go in lady hell Look around there are no tricks to pass the time Forever occupied with greener grass upon her mind And finds no satisfaction in the finest of distractions Though she dolls herself up she will never quench her passion We theorized that the greatest form of torture Is to keep her here and to endlessly ignore her Took it to market and we did obtain Loneliness is our darkest brand of pain, oh Though there's a crowd in her cell Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else She can never ever edge a word in herself 'Cause no one will listen to her in lady hell For as sad as it seems Somehow she's still holding on to all of her dreams Even though we know she'll never break from this spell She can't let go in lady hell Come on, there's always room We've saved a place for you Come on, there's always room We've saved a place for you Though there's a crowd in your cell Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else You can never ever edge a word in yourself 'Cause no one will listen to you in lady hell For as sad as it seems Somehow you're still holding on to all of her dreams Even though we know you'll never break from this spell You can't let go in lady hell You'll never break from this spell You can't let go in lady hell
I believe the song is refering to the real world and how it is hell to women, it says men aren't included because they are respected and listened to. Or something like that
Though there’s a crowd in my cell Everyone’s pre occupied with everyone else I can never edge a word in myself Cause no one will listen to me in lady hell For as sad as it seems Somehow I’m still holding on To all of my dreams Even though I know I’ll never break from this spell I can’t let go in lady hell…
Im a trans man but this kinda hits me in a certain way. Like, with feminism you're supposed to be advocating for gender equality but so many people always seem to exclude so many others. Its like being in a room with people who you wanna seek help from but everyone else is too focused on themselves; and this doesn't have to be with just feminism! Other minorities have so many of these issues. I hear so much from people in the LGBTQ+ community of "gays are safe now! We should talk about (insert sexuality here)" or "trans people are talked about enough- what about (insert gender identity here)" its not that others shouldn't be talked about, they should! But it feels more like an oppression contest rather than truly wanting to spread awareness. It makes your own community feel more like hell. I dunno, maybe Im just talking out of my ass but thats what this song makes me feel 😅
Feminism is advocating for women's rights. The advocation of equality in general is egalitarianism. Please don't get them mixed up. This is just a case of hell is whatever keeps working, irony may happen but isn't necessary, pain works on some but not for others, and society is core to humans.
Though it explicitly talks about a “hell” I don’t exactly interpret the lyrics as them being situated in a specific place or period of time, I think it just talks about the universal struggles of being a woman (the so called “spell” which men can sympathize with but never truly understand, therefore they don’t exist in that “space”) in a society (the cell) that often expects them to be something they don’t necessarily want to be. They still have ambitions of their own and dream of that someone who will actually listen to them, but since many of them feel trapped, they just force themselves to love a Hades. Welcome to lady hell
There's no men among the creatures
'Cause we prefer to customize every feature
To make sure that hades is the bane of every lady in the the world
Whether she's a woman or a girl
You may expect to encounter clichés
Of endless chores, thankless children to raise
But trapping women in a kitchen is too kitsch to be a prison
But here's the real smite of the feminine afterlife
Though there's a crowd in her cell
Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else
She can never ever edge a word in herself
'Cause no one will listen to her in lady hell
For as sad as it seems
Somehow she's still holding on to all of her dreams
Even though we know she'll never break from this spell
She can't let go in lady hell
Look around there are no tricks to pass the time
Forever occupied with greener grass upon her mind
And finds no satisfaction in the finest of distractions
Though she dolls herself up she will never quench her passion
We theorized that the greatest form of torture
Is to keep her here and to endlessly ignore her
Took it to market and we did obtain
Loneliness is our darkest brand of pain, oh
Though there's a crowd in her cell
Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else
She can never ever edge a word in herself
'Cause no one will listen to her in lady hell
For as sad as it seems
Somehow she's still holding on to all of her dreams
Even though we know she'll never break from this spell
She can't let go in lady hell
Come on, there's always room
We've saved a place for you
Come on, there's always room
We've saved a place for you
Though there's a crowd in your cell
Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else
You can never ever edge a word in yourself
'Cause no one will listen to you in lady hell
For as sad as it seems
Somehow you're still holding on to all of her dreams
Even though we know you'll never break from this spell
You can't let go in lady hell
