3:17 - Finland is 17th most populous country in EU. Somehow I've lately seen Americans often misestimating sizes of EU states when comparing them to US states (population wise). EU has population of 450M divided between 27 member states, while US population of 330M and 50 states. Averages 16.7M and 6.6M. When it comes to area, US is twice as large as EU.
It's the maiden of Finland. Before WWII it was a dancing young girl in a long skirt and a vest, yhe waist is the narrowest part. , with 2 arms up, but she injured her left arm (Eastern - the girl was facing us, the world), and her left leg (it was lifted up in the east) Her right foot is there in the most southern peninsula, if you look carefully. Now the lady is a mature woman on her left knee, the left foot is covered by the skirt, right foot is visble, the knee high up there in the broadest width of the country, Her habds are joined together in a prayer, a bit upwards, like her face too, turned towards the Heavens.
Good comparison in the States is Minnesota. It's roughly the same size in population and landmass., both have winter, love hockey - and have quite a lot of lakes & forests - Finland maybe more, but we Finns don't have praerie.
never seen a bunny as our borders before, thanks for that. :D as commenters have mentioned, we are used to seeing it as a woman with a dress, who lost her left arm in wars.., pre-war maps show the original.. thank you for having an appreciation for the Word sisu.. never have i thought about it before people in UA-cam have talked about it.. there's a saying in finnish, to raise up the spirit and remind us of sisu: suomalainen menee läpi vaikka harmaan kiven, a 'finn' will go through grey rock if necessary (or something like that).. oh and btw, we don't have a Word like 'finn' here, but for some reason the only Word close to that is finni, which is like the red akne point in face that teenagers get.. :D greetings from mid-fin, jkl, much love, and thanks for a nice video
Thanks. I have a few very interesting maps in the works but am also working on a geography primer that some will enjoy. (I needed a refresher course - grade school was a long time ago!)
