The Emma Thompson one is the funniest. The Jennifer Lawrence one is the most obnoxious. The Mayim Bialik one isn't really a confrontation; she just corrected the interviewers on something they honestly didn't know.
She's a libtard so she's not as intelligent as one would think. Some people can be incredibly smart and incredibly dumb at the same time. It is how you choose to use your intelligence that matters. She chose acting. Blah. Hollywood is garbage.
If Hollywood is garbage to you, then why are you watching this. Mayim Bialik is one smart lady. Went into acting at a young age, because of her parents. Then moved away from Hollywood to study. She came back to Hollywood probably because it pays more but with the knowledge that she has done other things
Honestly Mayim is being a bit self congratulatory there. She absolutely has a degree which would qualify her to begin a career in the field of neuroscience however she has never actually worked in that field so I do feel calling herself a neuroscientist is a bit disingenuous.
Youre so right! And she was actually saying she's wasn't invested in some stranger's wedding, because her own child has an upcoming wedding- which is a million times more special and important to her and the interviewer didn't care at all! I mean I'm surprised she kept it calm with all that goading.
Helen Mirren is a good example for women on aging gracefully, dressing elegantly, and how to act toward others publicly. She always looks so nice and is well spoken and polite...so much nicer than seeing interviews that end up nothing more than loud, rude arguments peppered with foul language, ending with someone storming off, flipping people off, or someone being punched. That gets old after awhile.
My mum worked at a hotel where Helen Mirren was staying while filming locally a while ago. Helen apparently left the room absolutely ruined, and a mess, so whenever I see her I always remember that. (Granted if I remember correctly she apparently was staying with a friend also) She did handle it well!
The worst thing about Jennifer Lawrence is that she tries so hard to pretend that she isnt a diva, when she clearly is. And that she is this normal down to earth person who just happens to be an actor, which she clearly isnt
heteroclitus Technically, we don't know that she doesn't do that, because we don't know her at all- either way. However, I agree that we can't really judge whether she's 'faking being down to Earth' or whatever, since none of us know her. People need to hate and judge less. I'm also curious why so many people have made this assumption of her.
Maybe the nature of the industry is that women have to develop diva-ness to some degree to scare off the Harvey Weinsteins and people who try to take advantage in other ways. Maybe they don't always know when to turn it off.
Samantha Brandt, he was looking at the “Translation” as he knows hardly any English! I use to think she was a pretty kool Kat and a decent actor but now think she’s a bit of an asshole
And why was he reading from his phone? Was he too dumb to know what questions to ask? And don't give me that translation BS. He had an accent, but he spoke English.
He wasn't reading a translation. He was taking pictures as he was asking questions. It's been supported by multiple reporters who were also there. He should have taken pics before and after his question. He was rude not Jennifer Lawrence.
A neurobiologist is a research scientist with a PhD who probably doesn't use calculus every day in her discipline, but had at least an undergraduate year in calculus classes to obtain her first degree. Bill Nye IS NOT a scientist, but a Mechanical Engineer with an MS who, ironically, does use calculus on a daily basis in his work, back when he did it.
Mechanical Engineering is an applied science. No matter what field a person with that degree goes into, science has to be used a lot when coming up with designs, designing equipment/vehicles/buildings/ships/space-ships etc...not to mention practical applications for things everyday people use. Without them 'there's no vehicles, no launchpad, no shuttle, no electricity, no electrical grid, and no running water. So yes, they are scientists. Believe it or not, not all scientists spend their days in the lab. Ever heard of Nicola Tesla?
I don't know Bill Nye, his background or work, so take this with a grain of salt, I'm just going on what has been said here, but... To all those here saying, he is a scientist because he got an engineering degree: science is about the application of the scientific method to model phenomena. Lets unpack this and its implications. A scientist is someone who can do that, or is doing it. A scientist is someone who can, either design or carry out experiments to acquire data about a phenomenon of interest to study it, use his or other scientists' data to verify hypotheses about some phenomena, come up with hypotheses or theories about phenomena to be tested, or infer predictions from theories. (This is not necessarily an exhaustive list, it is a real world activity obviously, with more texture that my little model here shows, but it is enough to give an idea of what I'm talking about.) An engineer designs, builds, tests or fixes machines or mechanisms. This uses the knowledge produced by scientists, but is not science per se. Of course, it is possible to do both at the same time. If you design or build machines where in a domain where the science isn't settled, for instance, such as, for experiments in high energy physics, nanotechnology, biosystems or genetic engineering. So, yes, they might mingle, but they are not the same. It is possible to do a lot of one and almost none of the other. Very theoretical scientific work has negligible engineering in it. Engineering where the science is settled and the predictions have been worked out by others, for example, high up in the fab complex, such as designing new computers. There is a modern tendency to overvalue education, and to take certifications at face value. When you go through an educational program, you are supposed to learn something. The exams you take there and the certification issued are supposed to test what you learned, certify it, and summarise it with some grades. There are several issues with this: grades are an oversimplification, people cheat in diverse ways, and some people are very good at doing homework, doing tests and certifying themselves, but to the extent that the modern educational system does not do apprenticeships, what you do in a modern university is not quite the same as what you do in a profession, so it is possible to do one and not the other. The other side of the coin is that it is possible to learn these professions without going to school, as an apprentice or even an autodidact. So, if Bill Nye has an engineering degree, that does not guarantee that he is a decent engineer, and it definitely says little about his capacity to do science. Unless he failed in his education or cheated, it does mean he probably understands some science that has been researched and published, but that does not mean he can do it. To show a crass example, a lot of people can understand literature, but few of those could write it. Writing a whole novel or book involve complex skills that go beyond writing a few paragraphs well, even. I'm not saying those people couldn't do it if they train or practice, but at the moment, you wouldn't commission a book from someone who has done neither. Finally, and at the risk of ruffling some feathers, I'll add something. A lot of people who worship science, but don't practice it (yes, worship, in the sense of taking their cosmovision, ie, their explanation of the world and their origin story, from science, and of looking for science to provide all their answers and solve all their problems, while resting all their hopes in it), are very invested in broadening the definition of science. Of course, as with priests and laypeople in an institutional religion, there is an asymmetry of power, and nobody like to be at the lower end of one of those. So, the broader the definition, and the more people who are considered "scientists", the more the power is diffused. "Proper scientists" then defend their power by declaring a lot of poor efforts or crackpot theories "psuedoscience". This is equally silly and really unnecessary. It is even contrary to the ideals of science. (If you don't like someone's work, or their misuse of the term science, then critique their work on its technical merits, or ignore, just designating their whole work invalid, by creating a special category for that, like ad hominem attacks, is not a scientific way of arguing against it.) Anybody can and should do science, if they so desire, but it does take some learning and practice. This naked power grab by scientists and their groupies, is beneath the dignity of science. Crucially, it is not just technical knowledge that is needed to do science, it involves a set of attitudes and philosophy, as well as some cognitive skills. While related to the mindset taught to engineers, it is not at all the same. This, of course, does not impede some engineers from learning both. I will reiterate that I am saying little, and claiming nothing, about Bill Nye, whose work I don't know any more than I know him. This is merely about the notion that any engineer is a scientist, or that anybody with an engineering degree is an engineer.
Being a scientist has little to do, with where you spend your time (not that the OP claimed that), but with doing, having done, or at least knowing how to do science. Engineering uses scientific results, yes, but that neither proves nor disproves that a particular engineer can do science. Believe it or not, having some level of scientific literacy and being able to apply scientific results does not prove that someone can do science. Yes, I've heard about Nicola Tesla, but, believe it or not, a specific example does not prove a generalisation, it can only disprove one. So, one capable engineer who can't do science, is enough to know that not all of them can (and believe me, I've met plenty), but one who can is just that, one positive example, with no general implications. And that, moreover, since you are so gung ho about science and engineering, is an example of a type of knowledge, rules of inference, that is not super useful for engineers, but quite crucial to scientists. (Not saying that a good engineer wouldn't understand this trivial example, just giving an example of a domain of knowledge which is necessary for mathematicians (who are also not necessarily scientists) and scientists, but only of passing interest to engineers.)
Seems like much conversation, likely by people who are neither scientists or engineers (degreed and certified). My family are. My dad was a Mechanical and Electrical engineer, with international credentials and certs, obtained after he mustered out in 1946 and went to UAH. In the 70s he was on accreditation committees for universities. He could really care less about science and pure theory. He hated his chemistry courses and saw physics as only useful Newtonian and static force training. Yet he built and lit the bridges and tunnels you drive on today in the US/Can, UK, and West Germany. I can testify from observation engineering is not applied cutting edge science. Science from 1750 maybe, but not modern science in most cases. I took a doctorate in Chemistry. I do applied science, and I teach. My daughter is working on her degree in BioChemistry. We are quite aware of the differences in personality, passion and walking around knowledge. My guess is Nye bashing has somehow become the an assumed intent from the OP. I'm fine with the man as an engineer and children's TV comic. Mr Nye is an aviation mechanical engineer that left Boeing around 30 because he won a Steve Martin look alike contest. He then went on a comedy circuit and pursued acting in the 1980s. He got a job with Disney channel, so I put him about where I put Jeremy Clarkson, as a comic presenter of technical material. He did offer a device to NASA, a sundial for a Mars rover. Sundials were a passionate hobby of he and his mother. He carries three patents if I recall: ballet shoes, a novelty plastic bag magnifying "glass" project for children, a ball throwing gadget and an abacus. Sounds like a former engineer and current tinkerer. He may have the passion for theoretical science my pragmatic dad lacked, but apparently not the training or credentials. We all have our parts to play on this great stage of life.
I actually thought she was very rude. She's not so big a star that you'd know her entire life history or educational background. And why would anyone assume she's a neuroscientist AND also an actress. I'm pretty sure most neuroscientists don't moonlight on sitcoms. Jeez, I thought her reaction to the question was pretentious and ridiculous.
@@Texas.wildflower1 actually, in multiple interviews has said that she took the role because she is actually neuroscientist. So everyone knows that. And as interviewer you should know some basic things before you interview someone.
If all interviews went live like Danza, the world might be a better place. He says what we are all thinking with this unique glimpse behind the curtain. Props to him for standing behind his words of "usually unspoken" common sense.
Mayim Bialik was the one you used for the thumbnail, but that was hardly a confrontation. She calmly let the interviewers know that she was actually a scientist in real life.
She doesnt mind telling you that either. If you are a scientist, and graduated college 10 years ago and dont practice what you learned to become a '' scientist.'' Can you honestly still claim to be one. Knowing that you have forgotten about half or more of what you learned, working in another career. Retake the test, lets see how you score. No more scientist.
If you want to see a celebrity take down of a rude reporter, look up Mila Kunis taking a Russian reporter to task when he asks Justin Timberlake why he wanted to act when he was “just a musician.” Not only was it completely brilliant, it was in flawless Russian. It was awesome!
Jennifer Lawrence has a really inflated sense of just how likeable she is. I mean this girl has done awful things and tries to play them off as nonserious mattets all the time , for example the desecration of the Hawaiian monument which she spoke so jokingly about on Graham Norton and the thing with the reporter. I mean seriously , what plausible reason could he have for looking at his phone other than it having content pertaining the interview, I mean come on Lawrence, use your head.
Haha people that dk around with their phones for any reason while trying to talk to me.They look up and i am long gone.If he needed his phone to ask a question..he is a fkn idiot.Hey man maybe i should send my kid in there to do his "job".
James Danowski, tbh, it's a bit bad that someone would mistake him for another black actor. And he was mistaken for someone else only because they are both black. It wasn't an intentional diss at SLJ or black people, but it was the interviewer's unconscious carelessness and prejudice that caused his inability to distinguish two completely different people. All he saw was a build, an age and a skin colour and couldn't separate two people.
How you all could have missed the one of the most Iconic interview confrontations of all time baffles me. The Iron Mike Tyson is so well known for putting reporters in check throughout his career that Im so shocked that not one of his interviews made it on this list.
In a piece about how interviewers didnt know Mayim Bialik is a scientist, you SHOULD know that Bill Nye is not a scientist. He is a mechanical engineer.
I find the one of Jennifer Lawrence really irritating, she comes across as annoying. The one of Helen Mirren, oh, I love it! she managed that interview really well, such a strong woman
Re: Mayim Bialik segment (5:17)... Mayim in fact has a doctorate from UCLA (2007) in neuroscience. She IS a scientist so, it IS silly to ask her about her calculus skills. On the other hand, Bill Nye is NOT a scientist; however, I would expect he would know calculus as he has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell (1977). But, Bill Nye is no more a scientist than is Jimmy Carter. Like Bill, Jimmy graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering (US Naval Academy, 1946) and seven years later, he enrolled in (but never completed due to his father's death) a six-month non-credit course covering nuclear power plant operation at Union College in Schenectady. When the Three Mile Island nuclear accident occurred during his presidency (1979), the media grossly erred in crediting Carter with having "specialized in nuclear power" in the US Navy. He was photographed touring the facility. Famously, Carter never corrected that outrageous exaggeration of his knowledge. P.S. According to researchers at the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH), radioactivity released during the Three Mile Island (TMI) accident does not appear to have caused an increase in cancer mortality among people living within a five-mile radius of the nuclear accident. (Report dated: Friday, April 28, 2000)
@@kathypease1711 That only really means you have a college level education in a scientific field, most people that are actually considered "Scientists" have YEARS of post-graduate studies, field-related work and published works in that field. Bill Nye DOES have some engineering experience working for Boeing, but most would consider his level of work and education to be that of a "Technician" and the fact that he left said field less than 10 years after graduation without applying for a higher degree would pretty much confirm that. The vast majority of his work is in the entertainment industry (some may call it "Edutainment"). Science proponent? Absolutely. Scientist? No. Educator? For sure.
and imagine having to deal with dumb/annoying questions over and over and over again. we'd all eventually snap. i'm surprised it doesn't happen more often with how constantly dumb a lot of interviewers questions are.
Fun fact, a master’s graduate has twice the number of neural networks in their brain as a high school graduate. So comparing a PhD Neuroscientist to two award show hosts, your claim is actually entirely factually accurate. 😂

Cameraman was off base but so is Damon the hippo sized hypocrite. He sends his kids to private schools. He's about as honest as Rosie O'Donnell who rails on about the NRA then sends her kids to private school with armed guards.
you can apply the 10 percent to almost every profession and 50 percent for news cameramen and interviewers. but its a situation out of control rather than ask interesting questions they resort to baiting so they get a response. it's lazy and disrespectful.
*@BioStuff415:* Yeah, I'm taxed to pay for wars I don't support, but I have to pay them anyway. The question was stupid and the statistic is meaningless. I know a lot of right-wing tools are now griping about the teachers union and so on, so they love this sort of comment. But it was irrelevant. Most teachers aren't lazy, just as most people in whatever profession _you_ are in aren't lazy. However, the right-wing media doesn't focus on _your_ particular profession, and question the integrity of the whole group based on the performance of a tiny minority. Matt Damon had a clever comeback, and it was a far better question because it shined light on the stupidity of the original question.
You forgot about the Bee Gees walking away live from Clive Anderson.Mayim Bialik kept the cool and dealt politely with the situation. What a great person!
I have even more respect for Helen Mirren now. I had no idea how badly she'd been abused back in the day...that interview is not the worst i've seen now that i've looked her up.
😂 good for them! Lmao!! Except for the Jennifer Lawrence interview. That was a little presumptuous assuming he was just "looking at his phone" although, it was a little funny. 😄😯
If you want to listen to someone who does know many factors involved in climate, look up Dr Willie Soon, lots of UA-cam videos. Bill Nye does have an engineering degree, but, doesn’t know jack about the world’s climate. His show used to teach kids you have either an XX (female) or XY (male) chromosome set. This part of that show has gone down the memory hole. Yes, there are a few unfortunate people that have odd variances, but they are few and far between. What happened to Bill Nye the Science Guy who made science fun for kids instead of trying to scare the crap out of them.
@@kathypease1711 you might want to look up the definition of scientist. I’m an RN with a degree in applied science, but I def wouldn’t call myself a scientist.
It was the same guy who interviewed (and pissed off) Quentin Tarantino. He's a terrible Channel 4 reporter who purposefully tries to dig up the past, a lesser version of Piers Morgan.
There are good and bad teachers. Some teachers actually love their jobs and love to teach kids, but others really don't care an just want the money. In which isn't that much but still only after the money.
I guess I haven't seen enough of her bc I don't understand the hatred towards her. But then again, I rarely pay attention to these people so that could be why.
Aw man I always had a crush on Blossom as a kid, and IDK why she was so dorky and awkward but she was so godam smart and cute. She's an expert in child development as well.
As in other interviews? They are in fact a few videos by this channel on confrontational interviews with celebrities. However they show different parts of the same and even some differing interviews. A lot of channels do the same thing, they’ll put the same thing in two separate video, granted they phrase things differently. I think what she meant was that while some segments are the same, they show different parts of the interviews.
She's great! Love her smile. That interviewer was a dumbass. He must not realize that some people aren't obsessed with the royal family. Myself included.
4:27 I've always loved Emma Thompson and now my admiration and respect for her have reached new levels. And by the way, news media, it's not just ET, most Brits don't give a rat's arse about royal weddings.
Jennifer Lawrence has been misunderstood a lot of times for her straight forward and honest answers. She doesn't seeks to be cool by being a rude, but she just says what comes to her mind first hand.
I love JL’s honest approach. I don’t see her as trying to act cool. She’s just being direct while inserting her sense of humor. Apparently she rubs some people the wrong way. My daughter doesn’t like her either. 🤷🏻♀️
Jennifer should not have abused that guy. He was nervous and was told by his boss to picture the person he was asking questions of naked to ease his nerves. So he had Jennifer's Fappining page open on his phone.
Out of all of them I liked Mariah's response the best, she really kept her cool, even when she was uncomfortable and getting annoyed. She does that low voice mumbling thing when she's uncomfortable, but she always tries to laugh it off.
she's really good at answering questions. one of my favourites was when she was asked to name 3 things she liked about eminem. she said something like, "they come in a packet, you can get them with or without peanuts, etc." was hilarious.
I love the song "Dirty Laundry." Though that song is more about the common person, it can apply to celebrities too. "People love it when you lose, they love dirty laundry. Hit 'em when their up, hit 'em when their down..." In the end, celebrities are just people much like us. How about if people start following you around with cameras and a microphone?
On the JLaw thing I was thinking what you said. The guy had an accent, so he was probably reading his questions to not fuck up. But oh here come relatable Jennie being all woke about phones, we love her haha
Good for Matt Damon and really anyone who defends themselves. Be polite as long as they are but if they are going to overstep boundaries then the gloves come off.
I'm surprised that you didn't have Samuel L. Jackson in there. When being interviewed to promote Django Unchained, a white reporter wanted him to talk about the excessive use of "the n-word" in the movie. Jackson asked him what word he was talking about. The reporter kept on talking about "the n-word," and Jackson kept refusing to comment unless the reporter identified the word he meant by actually saying it. He insisted that there could be no meaningful discussion *about* the word and its place in our language if participants couldn't even say the word itself. In the end, the reporter gave up, unwilling to utter the offensive slur, and the interview moved on amicably to the next subject.
Helen Mirren is an amazing woman. These famous young "modern" women would do well to take her example on how to behave. She's always so classy and elegant.
You're suggesting these young "'modern" women act like a right old tart? Because that's what she was in those days. And then she had the nerve to act all offended.
No, I'm talking about the present time...the here and now. I'm not one of these people who live for the Hollywood gossip rags, nor to I follow every little aspect of the lives of the famous. I don't have time, nor am I interested...but the bits and pieces I come across that have to do with Mirren today show a very elegant and classy woman, someone worthy of admiration.
Well, you obviously don't know her past then. She has no class whatsoever. She is not worthy of any admiration at all. You obviously have seen the films she used to be in when she was young . Not something modern young women should take example from.
I thought you would have understood that from my earlier comment...and that I was merely commenting on a woman that I've seen pieces about in recent years. I expressed admiration for her and the the woman she is today...Why such a bee in your bonnet? My comment had nothing whatsoever to do with you. Your overreaction to my opinion is completely unwarranted. Go somewhere else with your anger and hatred...I've no time, nor patience, for it. Let go of your anger and hatred toward others, that will help you to have a nicer, and hopefully, happier life.
It's not an overreaction. I do not have any anger or hatred towards anyone and I have a perfectly happy life. This is a public forum and I have as much right to express my opinion as you do. Don't tell me to go away just because you don't like my opinion. It is clear from your comments you don't know the real Helen Mirren. I am just informing you of what she is really like and that she is not the role model for modern women that you think she is. Why can't you get it. You are ignoring what I say because you don't want your image of her destroyed. Wake up and try and understand what I'm saying.
I had a professor be very touchy and not come to class a lot or upload our hw & his excuse was “I have tenure”. Another was really verbally abusive n just a demon and she had tenure too. But that’s my own experiences.
Mel Gibson's reaction was actually very reasonable and not as " angry" as suggested here. He gives a valid argument.. 4 years and still having to answer questions like that? this is a good example of how media spins a story in order to make a buck out of it. Yee Nicki Swift.. sigh.
Agreed. If someone brings up Reese Witherspoon's arrest five years ago she'd be mad too or as would most of the numerous celebs that have past embarrassing incidents celebs had that are endlessly publicized. Most Celeb's irritation are justified in this, but Gibson was clearly painted as unjustifiably angry in this clip, next it will be that he was violent...your bias is showing Nicki Swift.
Yes, apparently this person did not understand that a scientist is someone who studied and majored in a scientific field. In his case, he earned a BSE - a bachelors of *SCIENCE* in Engineering. Funny how so few people seem to think that is literally what makes someone a scientist.
I remember that.."Mel" That's 4 yrs ago dude I mean, I've moved on, I guess you haven't"..lol! See, that's the thing about the media.. they keep REMINDING the public about peoples mistakes in the past as if they did it yesterday and thats who they'll always BE..
Bill Nye, is actually a simple engineer. he has a minimal amount of schooling for a bachelors degree. You compared a doctoral degreed scholar, to Bill Nye, a science actor.
lol.. Talk about getting a small portion of an interview. You completely misrepresented the Mel Gibson video. Not defending Mel's actions when he was arrested but he paid for his mistake. The interviewer clearly had an agenda, was completely passive aggressive and Mel had every right to speak to that shitty journalist in that manner.
I don't feel like we got enough of any of the incidents to actually form our own opinion or enjoy them. They're not even linked so we can watch them in full :(
Which of these moments was the spiciest in your opinion?
Nicki Swift the one where you imply that Bill Nye is a scientist.
Get rid of the music and edit it properly?
Bingo! Bill "NOT a" Science guy.
None of them. Especially when you edit the interviews so severely that they lose all their "spice".

However, I agree that we can't really judge whether she's 'faking being down to Earth' or whatever, since none of us know her. People need to hate and judge less.
I'm also curious why so many people have made this assumption of her.
Scarlett Johanson beats Jennifer Lawrence any day of the week.
Maybe the nature of the industry is that women have to develop diva-ness to some degree to scare off the Harvey Weinsteins and people who try to take advantage in other ways. Maybe they don't always know when to turn it off.
yes, thinking be in the position to judge is ridiculous, xD
Jennifer Lawrence's was just annoying.
He probably was reading from his phone!
Samantha Brandt, he was looking at the “Translation” as he knows hardly any English! I
use to think she was a pretty kool Kat and a decent actor but now think she’s a bit of an asshole
I was about to say he was probably reading a translated text as English isn’t his first language. In my opinion she was just being rude.
Now That's a genuine snowbunnie ms Sammie
Somebody doesn't understand the difference between science and engineering. And I don't mean the OP.
(This is not necessarily an exhaustive list, it is a real world activity obviously, with more texture that my little model here shows, but it is enough to give an idea of what I'm talking about.)
An engineer designs, builds, tests or fixes machines or mechanisms.
I like how Mayim Bialik stayed calm and wasn’t rude like a few of the others.
*cough* Jennifer Lawrence *cough *
Considering the questions asked, I think Helen Mirren showed faaaaaar more restraint.
She's so homely and repulsive.
This is my favorite one. Mila is a boss.
@@katsaymeow Agreed, I love Mila!
You should have shown more of the Matt Damon interview, it was actually much better than just the short clip shows.
Did you see how pissed Chris Pratt was when listening to her? I know everyone laughed, but I bet most of them were really upset with her.
Or how Jennifer Lawrence always says she's just a regular normal person by saying she's a regular normal person all the time.
Seeing as you have no idea what he was looking at & you are therefore assuming things...how do you get to form such a strong opinion of a stranger?
Haha people that dk around with their phones for any reason while trying to talk to me.They look up and i am long gone.If he needed his phone to ask a question..he is a fkn idiot.Hey man maybe i should send my kid in there to do his "job".
Shekola Carrington she pissed me off too. And she's rude
You forgot that guy who thought Samuel L Jackson is Laurence Fishburne.
They already made a video featuring that.
I had the same interview on my mind. Well there is always the possibility of a follow up clip
James Danowski he was joking.
What superbowl commercial?
If Quentin Tarantino wasn't Quentin Tarantino that man would have died a virgin
A lot of truth in that.
Agreed
😂💯
How you all could have missed the one of the most Iconic interview confrontations of all time baffles me. The Iron Mike Tyson is so well known for putting reporters in check throughout his career that Im so shocked that not one of his interviews made it on this list.
In a piece about how interviewers didnt know Mayim Bialik is a scientist, you SHOULD know that Bill Nye is not a scientist. He is a mechanical engineer.
He's an actor 😊 propagandist
Mechanical engineering is a science...
@@jesuschrist5857 it’s a different kind of science. Not chemistry or biology as he likes to pretend.
He can play with Legos.
I'm not a fan of Mariah Carey, but she handled that just fine.
Yeah, I think they didn't do their research and just went [insert man here]. Cause obviously a man would know calculus, just because he's a man. Not.
What?? What is that supposed to mean? I'm a man an I know nothing about calculus. So what?
You do understand that a BS means a bachelors of *SCIENCE*, right?
@@kathypease1711 That only really means you have a college level education in a scientific field, most people that are actually considered "Scientists" have YEARS of post-graduate studies, field-related work and published works in that field. Bill Nye DOES have some engineering experience working for Boeing, but most would consider his level of work and education to be that of a "Technician" and the fact that he left said field less than 10 years after graduation without applying for a higher degree would pretty much confirm that. The vast majority of his work is in the entertainment industry (some may call it "Edutainment"). Science proponent? Absolutely. Scientist? No. Educator? For sure.
To be fair, some interviewers ask some pretty annoying questions. Try staying nice and polite when you're being provoked like that
and imagine having to deal with dumb/annoying questions over and over and over again. we'd all eventually snap. i'm surprised it doesn't happen more often with how constantly dumb a lot of interviewers questions are.
Funny thing, Miyam is probably smarter than the two interviewers combined.
For sure - no doubt about it.
Fun fact, a master’s graduate has twice the number of neural networks in their brain as a high school graduate. So comparing a PhD Neuroscientist to two award show hosts, your claim is actually entirely factually accurate. 😂
She seems douchy and snooty. I wouldn't want her at my party.
Aaron Lemons i think she just got annoyed or offended man, like if u spent that many years training and studying and someone commented on ur capabilities you’d be dumbfounded too
Olivia Calton that’s not true. Where did you get this information from? Fool.
maybe 10% of cameramen are shit cameramen as the cameraman forgets wtf he is supposed to be doing and drops 0:47 the ball.
Mr. Deamon... Yea.... but I'm not taxed to pay for cameramen or woman. Mr. Deamon... is clueless.
*@MusicTennis3000:* So what, he sends his kids to private school? How does that make him a hypocrite?
I like how we only hear a total of two to three sentences in each interview.
Yeah I hate the narrators of the kinds of youtube videos.
Emma Thompson has never looked more GORGEOUS.
Emma Thompson summed up the intelligent species of the human race.
Emma Thompson, what a gorgeous woman, and knows how to refrain from slapping people stupid, with class.

Agreed
I have even more respect for Helen Mirren now. I had no idea how badly she'd been abused back in the day...that interview is not the worst i've seen now that i've looked her up.
“They had some food there that was just, pretty good I mean.”
Same Mariah, same.
😂 good for them! Lmao!! Except for the Jennifer Lawrence interview. That was a little presumptuous assuming he was just "looking at his phone" although, it was a little funny. 😄😯
I’ve never seen Mariah in a good interview. Good on ya Emma your interviewer is not listening. Mayim is incredible she looks amazing.
The only people who think Mayim looks amazing are people who look like her . . . namely you know who.
"Amazing"?
Woof
The Mel Gibson one was one where he was in the right. That interviewer was deliberately provocative for no reason.
Bill Nye isn’t a scientist. He’s an engineer who knows a lot about science...
Shawn for President thank you I was just about to type that
If you want to listen to someone who does know many factors involved in climate, look up Dr Willie Soon, lots of UA-cam videos.
*SIGH* Engineers are scientists. They have a degree called a BSE. Bachelor of SCIENCE in engineering.
@@kathypease1711 you might want to look up the definition of scientist. I’m an RN with a degree in applied science, but I def wouldn’t call myself a scientist.

What about that infamous Robert Dowey Jr. interview?
stryfetc1 youtube it lol the guy was asking about his past drug abuse and stuff about his dad and rdj wasnt there for that
It was the same guy who interviewed (and pissed off) Quentin Tarantino. He's a terrible Channel 4 reporter who purposefully tries to dig up the past, a lesser version of Piers Morgan.
EpicGravity908 that was not a confrontation. Robert walked out.
EpicGravity908 they already did another compilation video about awkward interviews with Robert in it.
EpicGravity908 Downey was in his rights I think to be pissed off about that it was very off topic.

Jennifer Lawrence has been misunderstood a lot of times for her straight forward and honest answers. She doesn't seeks to be cool by being a rude, but she just says what comes to her mind first hand.
SHE INDEE IS RUDE AND SHE THINKS SHE IS FANNY AND COOL.
No filter
She isnt rude. She says what she thinks. If she was a male it would be ok.
I love JL’s honest approach. I don’t see her as trying to act cool. She’s just being direct while inserting her sense of humor. Apparently she rubs some people the wrong way. My daughter doesn’t like her either. 🤷🏻♀️
Dame Helen Mirren proved in that interview that she was always as feisty and whip-smart then as she still is today.
Matt Damon’s kids are in expensive private schools so I guess while he supports public schools he wouldn’t dream of sending his kids to them.
Why should he have to?
So what?

Bill Nye isn't a scientist (even though he likes to pretend he is): He's a Mechanical engineer.
Dame Helen Mirren is an elegant and amazing human being. :)
But she was a right old tart who got her kit off at the drop of a hat when she was young. Parkinson was quite right in his interview.

she's really good at answering questions. one of my favourites was when she was asked to name 3 things she liked about eminem. she said something like, "they come in a packet, you can get them with or without peanuts, etc." was hilarious.
"Tony Danza from who's the boss says whey oh whey oh, oh wheeeeheyheywheeyoh"

That Mariah Carey one is excellent, good on her!
666Etnies666 I thought Mariah and Solange has every right to say what they said
Lol...that blackness jumped out real quick.
If the reporter was white, wasn't Jackson setting him to fail? I don't get what Jackson was trying to prove or what was his point.
You skipped the one where the Bee Gees walked out on a rude interviewer.

People still bring up Chris Brown's past.
@@sallyjrwjrw6766 And I don't think they should.
Did this person just call Bill Nye a scientist? LMAO
Yes, apparently this person did not understand that a scientist is someone who studied and majored in a scientific field. In his case, he earned a BSE - a bachelors of *SCIENCE* in Engineering. Funny how so few people seem to think that is literally what makes someone a scientist.
What about Grace Jones, she actually physically attacked her interviewer for daring to turn his back on her.
Yes, it was Russell Harty she attacked.
I see Amy, I click.
The 1975 interview was a true throwback in its content. It would never see the light of day now.
Quentin is a GOODFELLOW

4:32. Why I knew there was a reason I've held that woman so dear to me over the years. My words EXACTLY when it comes to royal weddings, etc. blehh.
LoL I love that dude calling it like he saw it on Mirren. 😂
Does Mariah Cary have a comb over?
irishwench333 Yes.
Helen Mirren and Mayim Bialik rock !
1:00 - he should have agreed... "Right, so you agree with me, maybe I AM a sh!t camera man... and there are sh!t teachers too, right?" LOL
They're not even linked so we can watch them in full :(
Jessica Taylor
That’s because they want to tell us what to think and not let us think for ourselves.
