TRE is a great starting point. I love 3x42 or 2x48 as my base fast for weight loss. I throw in a 72 hr every month. My mantra is: "I love how good I feel when I only eat meals and don't snack." I wrote this 100 times, repeated it to myself over and over. I continue to say it to myself. A huge help for me was eating my protein and fats at my meal before any veggies. I eat mindfully as much as possible. I stop eating before I feel full. It's a process.... I still want a snack and on occasion I give in but its getting much better!

Thank you both, this was SO informative! I am inspired to do more longer fasts during the week and also as for the sweet potato topic, I am adding a little portion every few days at my meal and after getting crazy shakes eating a few bites before anything else, I have learn3d the sweet potato cones last or after a fair amount of protein and fat. I appreciate you pointing that out. The WHEN is quite profound! I love your chats!

Thank you for all the great information in this podcast. I've been doing TRE/IF for almost 1 year. This podcast is the first time I've heard that when doing 2MAD the meals should be 5-7 hours apart. I've watched many of Dr Fung's videos and read his books but don't recall him specifically mentioning that the meals have to be a certain number of hours apart with a specifically timed meal window. Where can I find more specific info on this subject?

Yes, nuts are toughies!! It took me months to get to the point where I could have them in the house and not go overboard. Now I rarely touch them and if I do I am able to just have 1/4 cup. I took them out of house for a while but hubby returned them and I decided I had to resist. I fell off the wagon many times. It helped when I added 1/4 cup to my table and ate after my meal. Keep trying if you really want or need to eliminate them.

Thank you for all the valuable information and encouragement. I have Type 2 diabetes and have been doing IF/TRE for 2 years but not my blood sugars are high. Is this normal? How long will it take to lower blood sugars?

How do you know when you should stop therapeutic fasting and move to the maintenance (18:6/16:8) type of daily fasting?

Such great information about increasing my results with IF as I try to move forward with progress. I wait until 17 to 18 hours fasted before my first meal. It's usually in that 6 hour eating window that I have my LMNT electrolytes. They are flavored with stevia, but they really help me thru the afternoon without snacking, until dinner. So are these possibly slowing progress? My current goal is eliminating any snacking between my 2 meals. I'm not quite ready for OMAD.

Do you think or have you noticed that food sensitivities or allergies dissipate with therapeutic fasting?
