I second the freezing of the onions! If you have freezer space, just chop and freeze. It’s really convenient

Chopping and freezing onions is great. If you have one of the choppers it's even better. I always keep bags of diced onions, bell peppers and celery in my freezer.

I need to start keeping frozen celery too! I never have it on hand, or I just need one stalk.

When I have too many onions, I chop and freeze them, it’s a great time saver for adding to dishes.

I should probably do this! What do you freeze them on/in?

Freezer bags work or silicone reusable bags but only use the onion bag for onions. Same bags you use when you freeze garlic.

Becky from Acre Homestead has the best tortilla recipe I’ve found. The biggest hurdle for me was the lard. You have to use lard to get the best product with the best flavor. Her website is called Scratch Pantry. She also did a video on the difference between tortillas made with and without lard. Once I gave in and used the lard I was able to stop buying them.

I saw her tortilla video but haven’t watched it yet. I’ll have to look up her recipe. Rendering our lard is on my to-do list!

We also can a lot of beans, but haven't made our own refried beans yet. It's on our to-do list. Thanks for sharing. ♥♥♥

I really like the Longview Farms soaps and hand repair cream . Also the white cheddar popcorn seasoning is good on mushroom popcorn . Also for my kombucha I buy the hibiscus petals . That with ginger to flavor my kombucha in the summer is lovely. looking forward to the curry recipe . And I also got the Redmond’s Re-lyte to try. It’s super salty , but I think it’s supposed to be. 😊

Ooh so many good things to look into! I’ve never heard of mushroom popcorn - I’ll have to Google. That’s a great idea for kombucha. I’ve been doing crushed frozen strawberries and it’s a bit labor intensive. The re-lyte is very salty - I do a half scoop :)

Azure sells the mushroom popcorn kernels . Thanks for the tip on the re-lyte. For kombucha in the Winter dried elderberries and fresh ginger is great too. I love frozen fruit too , but it does take longer !

I enjoy hearing about others’ azure hauls. I learn about products i don’t know about yet. But several items you referred to as “we really like this”. I was unable to read the label and had no idea what product-
Something for cosmetics. Something for salads.
And another 1 or 2 items that I don’t remember.

Hmm I didn’t realize they weren’t visible. I’ll change this next month. The salad toppings are the juice infused cranberries and walnuts. The cosmetics are Liggett shampoo bars and Bubble & Bee Lip Balm. ❤️

Canola oil is not healthy I'm surprised Azure sells it. My humble suggestion is to switch to avocado oil for high heat, or coconut oil or ghee for medium heat.

    • @leahrenata4820
      @leahrenata4820  9 місяців тому +1

Hi! We actually do use avocado oil for most high heat. Canola is for true deep frying, because it’s much cheaper. We eat for health most of the time but some things we just enjoy 😄

Don't remember who but they took the dough ball, placed it between 2 pieces of like Ziplock bags then put a pie pan on top and mash down. It makes a perfectly round tortilla. Don't use plastic wrap as it will stick. This method is genius.
