Hello from Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. We're rebuilding. Still a very long road ahead for recovery. This is home. As for the winds that we had here along the coast. We may never know the highest winds exactly. Because, some of the wind meters got broken during the hurricane. But, after it passed us. People have been sharing wind reports on they're wind meters of winds 180 to 200+mph
I say this with deep concern for everyone who lives in New Orleans -- how many times does this exact thing have to happen before we re-think housing a million people in that exact spot on the map? I understand there is history and people's entire lives invested into it, but how many times will we watch it all get taken away, over and over, before we do something proactive like relocate? True.. except there's no where to relocate too... The US is too full of people, and if they emigrate out of the US like Canada or Europe etc, others will take in those places where those people just left, so no you can't just "relocate" lol
@@mv.d.h4623 I don't say it lightly, I am aware. How do you "move a city?" I think, though, that the question is as plausible as "how do you rebuild a city 10 times and should expect to have to do it again?"
