I started a new Christmas tradition. I make a big skillet of fried potatoes, ham, deviled eggs, and of course you have to have chocolate pie with plenty of whipped topping! When you make the fried potatoes be sure to add a stick of butter to the cooking oil to fry them in. Adds a great flavor.
Being of the boat ( Italy) Lasagna made with all homemade ingredients.... egg pasta, pork sausage, ricotta, boiled eggs and ground meat oh don't forget graded Parmigiano Reggiano. Tiramisu made with Italian Brandy and expresso ( oops gave away the secret ingredients....ENJOY) with expresso for desert. Salute🥂
My Grandma (passed away in '22) used to make a broccoli salad with bacon, sunflower seeds, red onion, raisins, and a sweet dressing. Grandpa (passed in '21) made tray buns that were soft, fluffy, just a little sweet, and while they were perfectly delicious on their own, a nice smear of soft whipped butter rarely hurts anything. They had four different homes over the course of my life, and I can vividly remember Family Christmas at all of them over the years.
I like how the two channenls are updating in sync lately to kind of tell two parts of the overall workings of your operations. All the yummy meat dishes my Mom once made but never wrote down as recipes I couldn't share if I wanted anyway. Just all the traditional stuff I guess.
Fruit cake with marzipan under a white sugar icing. No recipe as only mother made it. Stored for a year to age it properly and then revived with spirit (rum). I enjoy your varied selection of music. 🎅🎅🎅🎅
Beautiful horses! Freya, in particular, has lovely coloring. As for favorite Christmas dish, my mother and I love fruit cake but we‘re the only ones in the family who do so we don‘t make it every year. Of course, now my mouth is watering for it so I guess I will make some this year after all.
Juliette, it’s wonderful to have your seniors around. I bought a nine yr old mare who I finally put her down at 29. Saw me through my teens and yung adulthood. She was loosing her sight at about 28 and had a harder time negotiating the door into her stall and was bullied by the others. That’s hard to watch when she was the boss for so many years. A beautiful horse.
Howdy Neline, I hope ya'll are doing well, My Favorite Christmas dish, that's a hard one, gotta say turkey, turkey is my favorite, I look so forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas, because I get to enjoy all the turkey I can eat 😋 it may be a boring answer, but that is my favorite Christmas dish....oh, can't forget pumpkin pie with whipping cream 😋 Stay safe, God Bless and Farm on my Friends
Whimsy is looking Great, Neline! Love seeing your horses too😊. Juliette is a beautiful horse. Great job on the foot bath. Standing Rib Roast is the best part of our Christmas feast every year!
Roast Turkey, stuffing, braised cabbage (ours is from East Prussia and has Lemmon juice, some sugar, apple and marjoram), corn fritters, scalloped potatoes, gravy , and of course cranberry sauce!
My mom would make we called it new years cake it was a square made with arrowroot biscuits coco powder and maraschino cherries cook the eggs brown sugar with double boiler add it to the arrowroot crumbs spread it in a pan and ice it with a plain white icing. Have no idea what the real name is we just seen it after a New Year’s party and loved it. Came from the T.V guide.

Trim the tail hair. They don't need to swat flies in this weather. Teets will stay cleaner. I'm not a pro, just hate poopy tails brushing the utters and teets. It's the nurse inme, sorry. No offense meant. ❤
Mincemeat pie and fruit cake. Oh, and ice cream. And cherry pie. And apple pie. Lots of pies and lots of ice cream.

I guess you can say that cow who didn’t want to get dried off just didn’t want to go out into the cold. She likes the warm comfort of the barn
